Maura Hubbell
Software Engineer | Front End
The 411
I'm originally from Gainesville, FL, and I arrived at Moz in 2012 via Cornell (B.S. in computer science), the University of Washington (M.S. in same), a couple of startups in the electronic design automation industry, and then Microsoft.
When I'm not working or riding herd on my teenage son, I may be in mad science or riding my bike. My volunteer gig is at Lambert House, the drop-in center for queer youth. I also enjoy bleepy musical techno goodness, or going out dressed Goth to the nines, or both.
What I do at Moz
I write code that does desirable things, hopefully. Current team: Application Frontend. Note that I'm a person with a lot of back end experience on a front end team. Past projects that I've at least touched:
- Delorean
- Vanguard/Packrat
- Barbosa
- Stampede
- Listerine
- Victoria
- the whole crawl pipeline
- Crawl Manager
- Crawl Processor
- Aardwolf, early in development
- PDFit
- Chronkite
- Tilex
- On-page/Pagella
- ancient history:
- Fresh Web Explorer, the old content index)
- Just-Discovered Links and Mozscape, the old link indexes
- Attercob, the previous crawl pipeline
