The English Statesman Sir Winston Churchill once said “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give."  Truer words have never been spoken. 

This morning, for the second time in one week, I was surprised to have received a message of thanks and generosity.  Many of you will remember a landing page contest that took place at SEOmoz several months ago.  Part of the award for winning the contest was a few SEOmoz Premium Annual Memberships – which are valued at $399/ea. 

Paul Robb won the contest with his landing page entry, which, I might add, was my own personal introduction to SEOmoz a couple of months ago.  It was also the impetus for my decision to give the SEOmoz Premium membership a try. 

As many of you know, late last week I submitted a post on YOUmoz to give away the one month of Premium Membership I earned through my December contributions to the community.  Well, it seems that Paul had been planning his own contest in order to share in his winnings to give away the remaining memberships he won in the landing page contest!   

First, in a remarkable and unbelievably generous gesture to me, knowing that I have been on a month to month Premium Membership, Paul gave me one of his annual memberships!  I’m speechless on that one.  As Paul put it in his email to me:  

“One of the annual memberships is yours.  A gift for being so thoughtful and giving away your 1-month membership.  As they say, what you give out comes back multiplied :-)” 

How’s that for a class act?!  (See Churchill quote above).  I can’t thank you enough for that, Paul!   

Paul followed that gesture with this sentence: 
 
“Let's give my other annual membership away in your contest.” 

So, there you have it.  There are now two prizes.  A one year SEOmoz Premium Membership for first prize and a one month SEOmoz Premium Membership for second prize.  In consideration of the sizable increase in the prize value of this contest, the rules have changed a bit, and are as follows: 

1. In an effort to give everyone an opportunity to submit and have their article posted, the contest deadline will be extended.  Entries must be submitted by Thursday, January 24th by 5:00pm (PST).  Voting deadline will be Tuesday, January 29th, 5:00pm (PST).  Again, the sooner the better for voting purposes! 
   
2. In consideration of the sizable value of the one year membership, the contest will be extended to anyone that has either never been a Premium Member, or currently has less than three months remaining on their membership. 
   
3. Simply by the total number of thumbs up votes your YOUmoz post receives from the community (thumbs down will not be counted), we'll pick the winner and Rebecca will upgrade your account to reflect your prize winnings.
   
4. In the event of a tie, the winning post will be selected by a majority vote as decided by a panel of judges.

How about a hearty thumbs up for the generosity of Paul “credopaul” Robb?!
