Site not indexing correctly
-
I am trying to figure out what is going on with my site listings. Google is only displaying my title and url - no description. You can see it when you search for Franchises for Sale. The site is www.franchisesolutions.com.
Why could this happen? Also I saw a big drop off in a handful of keyword rankings today. Could this be related?
-
OK it looks like your site uis coldfusion, yet your headers suggest it is asp.net
Here is a see a cold fusion page
http://www.franchisesolutions.com...If you look at the cacheed page in google it looks like some sort of trace page used fopr dubuging, it may be that goolge cloweled your site while you were debuging
-
this is even more wired then it seems, as your site is not built with cold fusion it is asp.net running on iis according to your headers
do you have a listing in domoz, as google sometimes uses dmoz info for your snippit.
but then it would be unlikly to have a timespamp of 10 mar 2012
was your site once madein coldfussion? does it have any cfm pages?
-
Do you have any advice as to what I can do about it? It seems to "fix" itself and then default back to what you are seeing (on and off). thanks!!!
-
Something is odd here. When I search for franchises for sale, I'm seeing this as the snippet in the SERP:
ColdFusion Server Standard, 9,0,0,251028. Template, /index.cfm. Time Stamp, 10-Mar-12 10:59 PM. Locale, English (US). User Agent, Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; ...
Maybe there's some issue with crawling?
-
No they are not new. I am seeing very wacky things with the listing in the last few days. Today it is back to normal.
-
Yes, are the pages new?
if could be a indexing probllem if you have changed soming like added a no-index tag or somthing recently
-
So you don't think it is a problem related to keyword ranking drops?
Do you think this is temporary?
-
All comming up fine for me.
Some times they do that for different reasons, but come good

How to determine which pages are not indexed
Is there a way to determine which pages of a website are not being indexed by the search engines? I know Google Webmasters has a sitemap area where it tells you how many urls have been submitted and how many are indexed out of those submitted. However, it doesn't necessarily show which urls aren't being indexed.

What is the best way to find missing alt tags on my site (site wide - not page by page)?
I am looking to find all the missing alt tags on my site at once. I have a FF extension that use to do it page by page, but my site is huge and that will take forever. Thanks!!

Link Indexing Thoughts
We have have several promotional Articles put out for a few client sites, (posted on sites - not article directories) That was in Sept, it looks like they have not yet been indexed - any ideas on best to get them indexed? Not just these, but a lot of external links indexed quickly -Google seem to be slowing getting to them (big web after all....)

Google is indexing my directories
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I was looking at all of Google's results for my site and I found dozens of results for directories such as: Index of /scouting/blog/wp-includes/js/swfupload/plugins Obviously I don't want those indexed. How do I prevent Google from indexing those? Also, it only seems to be doing it with Wordpress, not any of the directories on my main site. (We have a wordpress blog, which is only a portion of the site)

Google Has Indexed Most of My Site, why won't Bing?
We've got 600K+ pages indexed by Google and have submitted our same sitemap.xml's to Bing, but have only seen 100-200 pages get indexed by Bing. Is this fairly typical? Is there anything further we can do to increase indexation on Bing?
