Is adding reviews to your site using schema structured data markup considered duplicating content?
-
A client of mine whats to add reviews from other sites such as Judys Book and Yahoo to their site. (Yes the actual content of what was posted in the review. They are proud of what their clients are saying).
I am not sure if using schema mark up and including the review body on the clients web site was safe or would it be considered duplicate content?
Is there a "good practice" for this?
Any assistance or suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks!

Just in case anyone else has this question or comes across this hopefully it will help them...
Using the entire review content from 3rd party site on your site even is you are using schema mark up will be considered duplicate content.

Ahh... I didn't even think of that. Good call. I appreciate the feedback.

I don't know about Schema, but I'd first check with the terms of service of the review site to see if that is allowed. I do remember looking at this a few years back for a review site and finding out it was against their terms.

Minimising the effects of duplicate content
Hello, We realised that one of our clients, copied a large part of content from our website to his. The normal reaction would be to send a cease and desist letter. Nevertheless this would probably mean loosing a good client. The client dumped the text of several articles (for example:

Google Structured Data Problem
Hello everyone, About 1-2 weeks ago, I have implemented rich snippets (microdata) for the product pages of my e-commerce site. However, in the web masters tools, google is saying that the crawlers did not detect any structured data in my site. I have also checked my pages using Structured Data Testing Tool. You can see an example test result in the following address. http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.tarzimon.com%2Fproduct%2Fnaif-tasarim-torr-aydinlatma-1031 What may cause this problem? Seattle is of Washington. Washington is of the US. US is of North America. North America is of Earth. etc etc etc etc. Any help is much appreciated. I'm trying to use the term to communicate It's application to SEO in that Google analyze how information is structured to understand the breadth and depth of your sites content...

Duplicate Content on Navigation Structures
Hello SEOMoz Team, My organization is making a push to have a seamless navigation across all of its domains. Each of the domains publishes distinctly different content about various subjects. We want each of the domains to have its own separate identity as viewed by Google. It has been suggested internally that we keep the exact same navigation structure (40-50 links in the header) across the header of each of our 15 domains to ensure "unity" among all of the sites. Will this create a problem with duplicate content in the form of the menu structure, and will this cause Google to not consider the domains as being separate from each other? Thanks, Richard Robbins

Different TLD's same content - duplicate content? - And a problem in foreign googles?
Hi, Operating from the Netherlands with customers troughout Europe we have for some countries the same content. In the netherlands and Belgium Dutch is spoken and in Germany and Switserland German is spoken. For these countries the same content is provided. Does Google see this as duplicate content? Could it be possible that a german customer gets the Swiss website as a search result when googling in the German Google? Thank you for your assistance! kind regards, Dennis Overbeek [email protected]
