More than 1 XML Sitemap
-
I recently took over administration of my site and I have 2 XML sitemaps for my main site and 1 XML sitemap for my blog (which is a sub-page of the main site). Don't I only need 1 sitemap for my site and one for my blog? I don't know which one to delete - they both has the same page authority. Also, only 1 of them is accessible by browser search.
http://www.rmtracking.com/rmtracking-sitemap.xml - accessible in browser
http://www.rmtracking.com/sitemap.xml - regularly updated in Google Webmaster Tools but not accessible in search browser. I don't have any error messages in Webmaster tools.

Thanks Tyler. I will check out that url. I also learned of another site from an SEOMoz Sitemap video that makes it easy to create a sitemap: www.Gsitecrawler.com.
Thanks very much for your help.

You can have one sitemap that shows all pages or you can have one sitemap index file that points to multiple sitemaps.
If you submit a sitemap index file to google then it will show that you have several sitemaps. I would do this for your regular site and your blog. But it doesn't really matter. The goal is to get your pages seen.
This is a great resource: http://sitemaps.org
BTW the stylesheet is not allow this sitemap to be seen in firefox: http://www.rmtracking.com/sitemap.xml

According to 1 of my PRO campaigns - I have 250+ pages with Duplicate Content - Could my empty 'tag' pages be to blame?
Like I said, my one of my moz reports is showing 250+ pages with duplicate content. should I just delete the tag pages? Is that worth my time? how do I alert SEOmoz that the changes have been made, so that they show up in my next report?

Sitemap for pages that aren't on menus
I have a site that has pages that has a large number, about 3,000, pages that have static URLs, but no internal links and are not connected to the menu. The pages are pulled up through a user-initiated selection process that builds the URL as they make their selections, but,as I said, the pages already exist with static URLs. The question: should the sitemap for this site include these 3,000 static URLs? There is very little opportunity to optimize the pages in any serious kind of way, if you feel that makes a difference. There is also no chance that a crawler is going to find its way to these pages through the natural flow of the site. There isn't a single link to any of these pages anywhere on the site. Help?

Level 1 Child Redirect to Level 3 (SEO)
Hi Guys, I'd like to get an SEO point of view on Redirecting Level 1 Pages (ie: main pages) to Level 3. I'm not a web-developer but lately I'm noticing a lot of main nav bar tabs redirected to child pages. When I go to click on what I assume is my main Motorcycle Level One Page the url looks something like this. example.com/motorcycles/bandit/cb600-hornet Essentially there is no content in the first 2 levels, how will this affect my SEO efforts? Also, is there any point adding in title and description tags for these 2 levels seems as there is no content? SEO advise would be appreciated, thank you.

How to Submit XML Site Map with more than 300 Subdomains?
Hi,
Technical SEO | | vaibhav45
I am creating sitemaps for site which has more than 500 Sub domains. Page varies from 20 to 500 in all subdomains & it will keep on adding in coming months. I have seen sites that create separate sitemap.xml for each subdomain which they mention in separate robots.txt file http://windows7.iyogi.com/robots.txt XML site map eg for subdomain: http://windows7.iyogi.com/sitemap.xml.gz , Currently in my website we have only 1 robots.txt file for main domain & sub domains. Please tell me shall i create separate robots.txt & XML site map file for each subdomain or 1 file. Creating separate xml for each sub-domain is not feasible as we have to verify in GWT separately. Is there any automatic way & do i have to ping separately if i add new pages in subdomain. Please advise me.0
