How to view the sources of visitors who bounced off in Google Analytics?
-
Hi there,
we have a website with a more than 60% bounce rate. I'm trying to find out where these visitors (the ones that are bouncing off) are coming from, to what percentage are they coming from the PPC campaign, from organic search results or referrals.
I suspect that the keywords from the PPC campaign are not relevant to the website content (and hence visitors are bouncing off).
Does anyone know how to check this in Google Analytics?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there
There is actually "Bounced Visits" segment you can select by default.
Go to Acquisition -> All Traffic and make sure the primary dimension selected is: Medium - so your data is grouped by paid, organic, direct etc.
Click the drop down arrow next to the default All Visits section at the top of the page and then click on the "Bounced Visits" tab to highlight it. You can deselect All Visits at this point or use it to compare.
You should be left with a report of the amount of bounced visits per medium type, which is hopefully what you're after.
Hope this helps.

Here is a technique that may work for you.
In Google Analytics, you can go to:
Acquisition...
Keywords...
Organic... (Or paid)Sort by highest bounce rate.
You may see a lot of one-offs that may not be very relevant, so it's useful to add some filtering.
So, set some advanced filters, such as:
Site usage... Bounce rate... greater than 50
Site usage... Visits... greater than 5.
Which may filter out some of the noise.
Sort by bounce rate to see the highest bounce rate keywords.
Remember that more than half will be not provided, probably, but this will give you a sampling of keywords with the highest bounce rate.
Also, perhaps the bounce rate is high because they found what they wanted to know on that page very quickly. Sometimes a satisfied visitor bounces.

Attributing Lead Source/Medium on Squarespace forms
Hi Mozzers Happy new year! We've recently picked up a client for some PPC and SEO work and their website is built using Squarespace. It's a B2B business, so enquiries don't always get sent straight from a landing page. Often a user hits our desired landing pages then checks out a few other pages before sending an enquiry. The problem we have is with attaching the source/medium of a lead to the enquiry that we receive. For example if Joe Bloggs completes a form, what we'd like to receive is:
Paid Search Marketing | | ZestUK
Name: Joe Bloggs
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 123456
Source: Google
Medium: CPC With the latter as hidden fields. We've tried the hidden field feature built into the form builder, but this only works if the user completes the form on the landing page they arrived on without leaving the page. We've tried to used event tracking but this only gives us accuracy on the number of enquiries from that channel, not who the user was that enquired, so we can't consolidate with our order and revenue report to work out ROI from each activity. Has anybody in the community ever solved this issue on Squarespace? Thanks

I've 'lost' my Google Referral Traffic
We recently re-launched our website on a new platform, PrestaShop. Up until that launch, our website, based on the DNN platform, received several thousand clicks per month from what Google Analytics classified as 'Google/referral', and several thousand more clicks collectively from international Google/referrals, i.e. Canada, Germany, UK and France. When the re-launched site went live, these clicks all went to zero on Google Analytics. My question is: Did we actually lose this Referral traffic through an improper setting on our new platform, or is this Referral simply being re-categorized in some other Source category like Organic Search?

Adwords and Analytics Conversion Tracking within Adwords
I am trying to decide whether to setup conversion tracking in Adwords using the website/page as a source, or Analytics. I do understand the (basic) difference, however in tossing up the pro's and con's of each I would be grateful for some input. The advertiser is in the (offline) retail and service industry and so conversions being tracked include completing a form, making a booking etc - so it is no problem to implement the tracking snippet. My gut instinct is that Analytics is not as accurate as a reflection as the webpage (due to the way it records only the last conversion). Would it be a mistake to use both? (my concern is that double clicks will be recorded)

Best way to automize generation of google ads - API, scripts etc.
I am in the process of setting up a fresh adwords account for a recently launched ecommerce site with about 3000 products and would like to automize the generation of the ads based on a spreadsheet of our product database. I would like to have full control over the code to generate these ads and a programmer with knowledge in SOAP and javscript would be availlable to assist in implementation. Any recommendations? Would you use adwords API or rather adword scripts?

Do you know whether there may be any existing code for doing this that we could just adapt to our requirements?0 -

Why are some restricted items showing up on Google Shopping?
Hi there, We sell tactical gear but only "Google Friendly" items in our Google Shopping Product Listing Ads. We don't include anything that goes on a rifle, including rifle scopes. However, we see that companies like ebay and OpticsPlanet can still sell riflescopes: https://www.google.com/#q=Bushnell+3-12x44+Mil+Dot+Tactical+Riflescope&tbm=shop. There's even an article by SearchEngineLand that points this out, too: http://searchengineland.com/google-weapon-listings-shopping-search-126487. So why is it that they can sell them and we can't? What advantage do they have or what have they done?
