Taking Great Photographs Underwater
May 25, 2015 By [email protected] No comments yet florida keys, key largo diving
Excuse my ignorance, I suspect this is an easy issue...but at the the top of each of my blog posts have what you see above....the "No Comments yet" tab is showing as a broken link 404 error...?Why? And how to fix?Thank you
-
Hey!
I am not familiar with that app so I can't speak to it. I am willing to bet it's an issue with their crawl, because again, I am not seeing anything on my end other than the issues I listed above in my quick scan.
Does Check My Links have anymore documentation to how they crawl 404s? I can't imagine it's any different than other crawlers, but again, not familiar so I can't say either way.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi there
Yoast is fine for sitemap generation - that's totally cool - I was just saying that usually redirect issues from crawls are because of your internal links, sitemaps, or canonical tags - just something to look into, doesn't mean it's your sitemap.
Let me know if this makes sense!

BTW on 301's... I let Yoast SEO generate sitemaps? Should I still check them somehow?
Thanks a lot for your time.

I am using "Check My Links"...an app...it shows the "No Comments Yet" tab at top of blog post as a 404 error? However, when I clck it it just takes me to comments at bottom of opage..perhaps it is just reading it as 404 and it is not?

Hi there
Where are you seeing this error? I did a ScreamingFrog crawl and I am not seeing that issue. I do, however, see a few 404s...
http://www.seadwellers.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/367679d2+0+277-SD.mp4 (on Key Largo Wrecks have been great lately!)
http://www.seadwellers.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/images.jpg (on Wreck of the Duane in Key Largo)
http://www.seadwellers.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/wreck.tif (on The Wreck of the Duane)I also see quite a few 301s happening - you should check your internal links, sitemap, and canonical tags to make sure all of your URLs are correctly listed.
Let me know where you are seeing that 404 and if the URL http://www.seadwellers.com/taking-great-photographs-underwater/#respond is being returned as the error URL, because I am not seeing it on my end.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

How to fix thin content issue?
Hello! I've checked my website via Moz and received "thin content" issue: "Your page is considered to have "thin content" if it has less than 50 words" But I definitely know that we have 5 text blocks with unique content, each block consist of more than 50 words. Do you have any ideas what may cause this issue? Thanks in advance, Yana

Is this blog running on the Genesis Framework?
Hi all, WordPress isn't my area of specialty in terms of themes and identifying what a blog might currently be using. Here's the link: http://www.pens.com/blog I've had one developer tell me this blog is on the Genesis framework and another one told me it is not. Can someone weigh in here and also give me some tips on how to know one way or the other? If it is not on the Genesis Framework, can you provide any helpful links/tutorials on how to get this blog onto the Genesis Framework? We want to be able to use Yoast SEO and apparently our current theme will not allow us to do so. Thanks in advance! Dana

When to post blogs?
If I was to put 2 blog posts on my site a month, does it matter if I post them on the site at the same time, or is their benefits in posting them a week apart? Thanks!

Header Links vs. In Page Links
We have lost considerable rank for some of our top search terms (department names) and the rank loss correlates to a change we made on our homepage. That change was to remove a secondary navigation to the major departments in the content of our homepage. Now all we have is the global header navigation on the homepage (and all other pages on the site). I have read that in-page links pass more value than sitewide header links and I'm wondering if this is really true. These were text links (not linked images) and our header also contains text links (and some javascript). We did not make any other changes on our site at this time and this was not around the time of any major algorithm updates. The site is www.ebags.com.

Spammy link for each keyword
Some people believe that having a link for each keyword and a page of content for each keyword (300+ words) can help ranking for those keywords. However, the old approach of having "restaurant New York", "restaurant Buffalo", "restaurant Newark" approach has become seen as a terrible SEO practice. I don't know whether this was because it's spammy or because people usually combined it with thin content that was 95% duplicate. Which brings us to; http://hungryhouse.co.uk/ Why does such a major company have the following on the site (see the footer); Aberdeen Takeaway Birmingham Takeaway Brighton Takeaway Bristol Takeaway Cambridge Takeaway Canterbury Takeaway Cardiff Takeaway Coventry Takeaway Edinburgh Takeaway Glasgow Takeaway Leeds Takeaway Leicester Takeaway Liverpool Takeaway London Takeaway Manchester Takeaway Newcastle Takeaway Nottingham Takeaway Sheffield Takeaway Southampton Takeaway York Takeaway Indian Takeaway Chinese Takeaway Thai Takeaway Italian Takeaway Cantonese Takeaway Pizza Delivery Sushi Takeaway Kebab Takeaway Fish and Chips Sandwiches Do they know something I don't? Duplicate Links
Hello, I am entering sitewide navigation that will go to primary seo pages. This is really for usability, not for link juice. I'm wondering if I should still link to these very important pages in my index page's content. Or if I should consider those navigation links strong enough. If I did link in the content, then I would have more than one link to the same page on my home page. Thanks Tyler
