Google Analytics goals only show unique event triggers
-
I have some goals in GA which is linked to different event triggers. However I've found out that the goal is only showing the unique event triggers and not the total. I need it to show the total in order to be accurate. Is there any way to switch that option? I can't find any options like that in GA or guides to do so.

We do expect some users to trigger some of the events more than once. For example calling different numbers or making requests to different persons.
Also, we have staff internally that helps users with doing this, and they are probably "stuck" in the same sessions for a long period of time, which makes the goal data inaccurate.

HI,
Maybe, but...
That is at least four separate goals you have there right? Calls, callbacks, emails, bookings. So if a single user did all four of those actions in a single session you would get four goal conversions.
How likely is it that a user would perform any of those actions twice in a given session? If not that likely then the goal data might be pretty good for what you need. Maybe the data discrepancies you saw were from multiple events while testing the setup?
If you expect users to be completing multiple event actions in a single session and counting the multiple events are important for your business then you will be wanting to look at the event data for better granularity.
If you are not expecting too many multiple events and/or if you want to use the goal data for things like conversion tracking in adwords then goals are obviously important to setup and in this respect any goal conversion would mean that a particular session 'converted' regardless of how many actual events were triggered.
So probably best to do more or less as you have it now. Goals give you a higher level overview of what is going on, events / unique events give you a better indicator of what exactly is going on inside the goal data.

In this case we're tracking phone calls to certain numbers, callback requests (by a form), email request (by a form) and online calendar bookings. They're all set up via event tracking.
Is the best option to focus on the event trigger data instead of looking at the goals?

Hi,
Analytics only allows one conversion of each goal per session and as far as I know there is no easy way around that. Multiple different goals per session is allowed so depending on what you are tracking and how the events/goals are setup this might be possible - but if you are tying a 'download' goal (for example) to multiple events in a session where one user downloads 5 files then you will only see 1 goal, but 5 events.
In this case goals are probably not the way to go and the event reports are more suited to this kind of tracking.

Modify Google Analytics Script To Only Cookie U.S. Sessions
I know I can filter sessions from outside the US, but is there a way to modify the GA script so that it doesn't cookie visitors to a site if they are from outside the US? Note, this is separate from having a cookie consent opt-in. Thanks in advance,

Google Analytics Code
We have a quick question about our Google Analytics code: We recently updated to a re-marketing Analytics code, and some of our traffic numbers seem to be off by a bit. I used the Google Tag Assistant Chrome Extension today, and noticed that it's finding our old Analytics code on our pages, but it's coming up as an error due to "no HTTP Response". I am attempting to remove this code from the website, but it is nowhere to be found in the HTML coding. Only the current one is there. So I'm wondering if this second Analytics code is effecting our traffic and reporting, even if the code is currently non-functional? and if it is, how could I go about removing it if it's not currently in our HTML? Thanks!

Google Analytics Organic Search Keywords Suddenly Displaying FulL Urls
In my Google Analytics, the top keywords for Organic Search are suddenyl displaying full URLs. For example, now the third and fourth keywords are http://www.domain.com/highly-specific-URL. These have all started recently around the same day, July 12th. I've checked back, and we've made no internal changes to the site around that time that could affect this. Any thoughts on this? Thanks! P.S. It might be related to rich snippets, but I cannot tell at this point.

Funnel Visualization in Google Analytics
Hello. I have a question about funnel visualization in Google Analytics where there is an eCommerce goal (i.e. add to cart, shipping, purchase) with the first step being mandatory. Issue:
Reporting & Analytics | | Unity
The amount of completed purchases reported in GA doesn't match the actual transaction figure via the eCommerce platform. Question:
I was wondering if anyone knows why this occurs? I have a few ideas on why however I haven't been able to locate any supporting evidence. So I was hoping to generate a few ideas from the SEOMoz community to help me investigate further. Any ideas welcome! Much thanks,

How do I best segment tablets on Google Analytics
I would like to find a way to best segment out my tablet traffic to measure performance; however I'm finding that there are road blocks. It doesn't seem that device operating systems or screen resolutions have clear cut differences in the tablet/mobile versions. Has anyone here found a good way to create a "tablet" segment in Google Analytics? Right now I'm having to lean on solely the ipad traffic to get indicators of tablet performance. Thanks!

Does Google Analytics use your data against you?
I couldn't find this question answered anywhere in Q&A, so I apologize if it's a duplicate of another post. I heard, about a year ago on either Web Pro World, or Warrior Forum that Google uses your visitor data in your Google Analytic account to rank your site. Someone said that when they took out the Google code, their site went from the third to the first page within 48 hours. That was then verified over the next couple of weeks by others. Their thought was that regardless of the optimized page and incoming link, if the site wasn't getting visitors, then it would be penalized. Since Google has the data, they would be able to use it. I then started using another, paid, solution - getclicky.com. While I like clicky, there is some info Google has that clicky doesn't, everyone integrates with Google analytics - like SEOmoz, and I'm paying a monthly fee. Now that I'm a part of a community of experts, what do you think? Have you noticed Google ranking you based on your analytics data? Has anyone experienced this, or heard about it before? Because I'd like to go back to using Google analytics. Thanks!
