Moz Local: Does cancelling change information in business listings?
-
I was reading the FAQ on Moz Local and would like clarification about this question/answer:
What happens to my listings on the sites in your network if I cancel my Moz Local subscription?
Moz Local will simply report to the sites in our network that the listing is no longer under management by one of our customers. In this event, Acxiom and Neustar Localeze will revert your listings to their status prior to your Moz Local subscription. In some cases, your other listings will lose enhanced content like website URL, secondary category information, logos, and other images.
Moz Local will not actively remove your listing from our network of sites. You will always have the ability to reclaim your listings manually on each site if you decide to cancel your Moz Local subscription.
So let's say my business moved to another location. Then I signed up for a Moz Local subscription, updated my business address, and then did not renew. After I cancel the Moz Local subscription, will my business address in the Acxiom and Localeze listings revert to what it was before I changed it through Moz Local?
Please let me know. Thanks!

Hey Dandelion!
We do send a signal to our partners when a listing is cancelled, but that message is effectively just saying "this listing is no longer being managed by Moz". From that point, each aggregator has a different way that they treat that and respond. Most aggregators just metaphorically shrug their shoulders, dissociate our service with the listing in their database and move on, but a couple (namely, Acxiom and Localeze) elect to revert the listing back to its previous form.
I can totally see how the result could feel like a malicious action from our side, but I assure you that we're taking the most mild action possible with each of out partners to simply relinquish ownership of that listing.
I hope this helps to provide some color to the way those relationships work! Let me know if you have any further questions!

Sounds like it is what Moz does, not what Localeze and Acxiom do. It seems like the only way they would know to change it back is because Moz tells them to revert.

Yep, that's a correct interpretation of what Localeze and Acxiom do when you cancel your Moz Local listing!

Unsolved Listing Permanence
Do listings revert to original state after cancelling Moz Local subscription? I know Yext is a feed that needs to be in place for their listings to show, and when you cancel the subscription, the listings all revert to how they were before you started (if you are lucky). I was told that Moz Local was different by a rep of the underlying platform that Moz white labels. Is this true , or still true? Thanks

Setting up Moz Account for a franchise with no physical locations
OK, so technically we are not a franchise, but our structure is very similar, in that we have numerous areas or cities, within which there are numerous locations (all with separate landing pages). We need to closely track the performance of each area/city as a whole (like you would a franchise), and the individual locations within it. We have a home based office in each main area/city, though not for the purposes of meeting customers etc. We have www.domain.com/area-1/location-A, www.domain.com/area-1/location-B and then www.domain.com/area-2/location-A, www.domain.com/area-2/location-B etc etc. This means that we have a relatively small handful of keywords which are relevant to any location, apart from the addition of the location or city name, like "house cleaners in [location], home cleaning services in [location]. So, do I set up my campaigns as domain.com/Newcastle, domain.com/Manchester etc, have say 10 keywords based around house cleaning, and then add all the local areas within that area/campaign? If so, should I add my keywords - things like "house cleaners" "home cleaning" "domestic cleaning companies" etc. to a campaign for /Newcastle, then add locations within Newcastle such as Gosforth, Jesmond, Heaton etc? Will this then allow us to track our rankings for "house cleaners in {Gosforth, Jesmond, Heaton etc}", "home cleaning in {Gosforth, Jesmond, Heaton etc}, "domestic cleaning companies in {Gosforth, Jesmond, Heaton etc}? Any help, general, specific is much appreciated! Many thanks Edward

If I "close" a duplicate listing on Factual, Acxiom, SuperPages, Bing or Localeze, what exactly happens?
When I click "close" for a duplicate location with wrong information, does it mark that location as PERMANENTLY CLOSED on the website (factual, acxiom, etc), or does it delete it from that website? Additionally, once that location on that site is marked as permanently closed or deleted, does Moz Local then re-add the correct information to that site? Thanks!!!

How to determine which keywords from a list trigger local 3 pack results, is there an automated way to do this?
Trying to discover which keywords from a larger list trigger the new 3 pack of local results. Would like to avoid checking this one keyword at a time.

Neustarlocaleze.biz - This Listing is already managed by someone else?
We just signed up for Moz Local. After things were setup I get the message "This Listing is already managed by someone else?" on the localeze bullet. We have claimed the free listing on localeze previously. How can I let Moz Local take this over to push all the data changes to localeze since localeze is also a pay to make additional changes.

"We were unable to validate the following listings with Google or Facebook"
Hi, I'm trying to submit the Moz Local service and it keeps saying unable to validate the listing even though our Facebook and Google accounts have been provided and match the listing. Has anyone else had this problem? It seems to be struggling to find our listing for some reason.
