Redirect issue

http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/wedding-band redirects to http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/wedding-band-cost-much-hire/
NO canonical in place. Nothing in Htaccess. I cant think where else to look to find it.
If I amend it to http://www.themorrisagency.co.uk/we it still redirects.
Any ideas? I have spent way too long on it now

Hello!
Were you able to fix it? To sum up the other answers, this could be a few things:
-
a redirect in your .htaccess file
-
a redirect in a plugin (yoast, or a separate redirects plugin - some plugins even create redirects automatically)
-
or autogenerated by your theme/wordpress
I would work in that order looking for it,

Thank you

It is definitely a Wordpress issue. Take a look at your functions.php file for your theme. You can add some code to turn off this feature.
If you have this feature on, which it usually is by default, it will redirect to the closest matching URL. Like so:
https://www.example.com/contact
will redirect to
https://www.example.com/contact-us (the actual page URL)
remove_filter('template_redirect', 'redirect_canonical'); is the code you need to add to the functions.php. But make sure you read up on it before disabling it, as it does have some benefits.

This is built-in functionality in Wordpress, matching closest existing URL.

I am looking for a company or person to assist me on the technical aspect of improving our site speed and resolving so errors that MOZ is reporting. For instance, we have an old URL domain that we retired when we consolidated 2 websites. We pointed (mapped) the old site pages to the current website, is this redirect helping (links) or hurting us? Can anyone recommend someone I can hire to help me with this project?

Tags creating duplicated content issue?
Hello i believe a lot of us use tags in our blogs as a way to categorize content and make it easy searchable but this usually (at lease in my case) cause duplicate content creation. For example, if one article has 2 tags like "SEO" & "Marketing", then this article will be visible and listed in 2 urls inside the blog like this domain.com/blog/seo and domain.com/blog/marketing In case of a blog with 300+ posts and dozens of different tags this is creating a huge issue. My question is 1. Is this really bad? 2. If yes how to fix it without removing tags?

301 redirect results in plummeting DA. Why?
I redirected from my .co.uk site to my .com site (www.salesandinternetmarketing) and my Domain Authority has gone from 44 to 33!? Also SEO Moz states that it's crawled all my pages, yet isn't showing any on page reports, inculding keyword usage, meta descriptions, etc. I'm very confused and not receiving clear answers from the support team (they've said one of the reasons is that my keywords are not ranked in the top 50, well some are, nevertheless I should still be getting some report info shouldn't I)? Can someone please help, I'm rather fed up as this has been going on a for a couple of weeks now

What's the Best Way to Hide Redirects from Search Engines?
Hey everybody, I like to use php redirects for affiliate links so they look better. I keep them all in the same directory. I read recently that these may hurt SEO. A couple quick questions: Is this the best way to redirect affiliate links? Should I simply block the directory in robots.txt? Any other suggestions from you SEO guyses and galz? Thanks! Jared

Would it be bad to change the canonical URL to the most recent page that has duplicate content, or should we just 301 redirect to the new page?
Is it bad to change the canonical URL in the tag, meaning does it lose it's stats? If we add a new page that may have duplicate content, but we want that page to be indexed over the older pages, should we just change the canonical page or redirect from the original canonical page? Thanks so much! -Amy
