Increased Bounce Rate & Dollar Index?
-
We use Google Analytics on our ecommerce site and we recently made several changes to an important page. Due to logistical reasons, we couldn't perform a Google web optimizer test but tracked the page's numbers in analytics from before/after the changes were made.
After a week, we noticed that the bounce rate on the page went up by about 10% but the dollar index also doubled. We're trying to figure out how this could happen, since it seems kind of odd. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I personally haven't used the dollar index, so am basing this on the definition I found at http://www.analyticsmarket.com/blog/google-analytics-definitions, which states:
A measurement of how influential a page is to conversion. It doesn't indicate how much money a page brought. Rather, it's a score. The higher the number, the more frequently it was viewed prior to a purchase or conversion. It's calculated by taking the goal conversion value or transaction value of a visit and applying it evenly to all the pages prior to that conversion. Seen in aggregate, it just attempts to correlate pages to conversions.
Have you done something on that page to better qualify your prospects, and encourage them to order more? If you qualified them better, you may have driven away some of the people who were not going to buy or were going to purchase a small amount, increasing your bounce rate but also increasing your dollar index.

Drop in Bounce Rate in Google Analytics
Hi guys, I have recently seen a large drop in bounce rate (from GA) which seems unnatural for one of our clients website. Since the start of 2018, the bounce rate was consistently between 40-60%, and then saw a random spike, and now for the past two weeks, the bounce rate is below 10%. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas if this is a problem with GA, or the site itself. Site: https://www.zoomocarcredit.com/ Any comments/feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Jack. Connect AMP to the same website GA property or not
Hi, Asking this on behalf of a client:"I know Google recommends setting up a separate GA property for AMP which they note in a few places:https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/amp-analytics/https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6343176?hl=en

From what we can tell this is because the tracking for AMP will measure things differently than the current analytics.js library. I also think it's related to the GA cookie and how it's set differently for AMP pages. But won't this cause drop-off in user journey information? For example, if a user views an AMP blog article but then clicks to our site from a link within the article. I think we would then track this as two separate users and the pages/visit would be off. I found this article which explains a tech way to connect AMP to the same website GA property but it seems a little too much of a work-around:https://www.simoahava.com/analytics/google-analytics-client-id-amp-pages/ Do you think we should just do what Google recommends and set up AMP as a separate property in GA?" --> Does anyone know if there could be any issues with this workaround?Thanks,0 -
Conversion Rate Higher Than Landing Page Visits?
Interesting to see in Google Analytics that the conversion rate is higher than landing page visits - could it be attributed to a visitor clicking the CTA button multiple times? Or perhaps there is duplicate GA code on the conversion page since we utilize both Google Analytics and HubSpot. (see attached funnel screenshot) Screen-Shot-2014-09-26-at-10.49.09-AM.png

PDFs and indexing
Hello and good morning. I work for a paint manufacturing company in the UK on their seo campaigns across a couple of websites, this is my question. as paint and chemicals require data and tech sheets by law, available to be downloadable for said product, should these be included in the sitemap, we auto generate our sitemaps which they include these files, with low priorities and never change in terms of name etc. they basically have a name of say 092847.pdf for example which cannot be changed, but from an seo view this doesn't mean a thing? so theres my question should they be included and would they carry any value?

Can underscore blanks trigger home page bounce rates
Buongiorno from 8 degrees C Wetherby UK 🙂 On this site the scrolling banner has been hyperlinked with underscore blank causing new pages to open when a user clicks on a banner. My question is please... "If a user clicks on a banner will Google measure this as a home page bounce" ( I dont think it will i just want to be 100% sure) Click here for illustration:

Bing Won't Index Site - Help!
For the past few weeks I’ve been trying to figure out why my client's site is not indexed on bing and yahoo search engines. My Google analytics is telling me I’m getting traffic (very little traffic) from Bing almost daily but Bing webmaster tools is telling me I’ve received no traffic and no pages have been indexed into Bing since the beginning of December. At once point I was showing ranking in Bing for only one keyword then all of a sudden none of my pages were being indexed and I now rank for nothing for that website. From Google I’m getting over 1200 visits per month. I have been doing everything I can to possibly find the culprit behind this issue. I feel like the issue could be a redirect problem. In webmaster tools on Bing I’ve used “Fetch as Bingbot” and every time I use it I get a Status of “Redirection limit reached.”. I also checked the CRAWL Information and it’s saying all the URL’s to the site are under 301 redirect. A month or so ago the site was completely revamped and the canonical URL was changed from non www to www. I have tried manually adding pages to be indexed multiple times and Bing will not index any of the sites pages. I have submitted the sitemap to Bing and I am now at a loss. I don’t know what’s going on and why I can’t get the site listed on Bing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
