The best way to engage with bloggers these days?
-
What's the most effective/least risky ways to engage with bloggers these days in order to build links, gain exposure and refer traffic? I'm in a competitive niche (weddings), and there's no shortage of high quality and unique content being offered to bloggers.
Currently, I do a mix of sponsorship, product giveaways, promotions etc. But, also have some ideas in the pipeline, such as collaborating with other vendors on styled shoots, etc. The latter is very time-consuming and, again, is something that has been done LOADS. So, needs to be very unique to stand out.
Want to avoid things like guest blogs and riskier tactics. For obvious reasons.
Any fairly easy-to-do ideas that I've missed before I explore the more complex ones??

In terms of Google +, I need to swot up on this as I'll admit I don't have much of a clue! Noticed a mozinar video about it, I think, so will look at that as a starting point.
Cheers for this: http://pointblankseo.com/link-building-strategies. I've had a brief look so far, but will look at the article more thoroughly when I get chance.

Voted +1 for Ricky's response, good suggestions. Have you looked http://www.blogengage.com/ for ideas? Depending on your market specifics, you may need to design more tailored strategies and tactics.

Twitter and Google Plus!
We've used Twitter to build relationships with authors/bloggers that pay off over and over again for our clients. We usually try to start of by following them and learning more about what makes them tick. Before we ever have an ask of any sort, we usually try to find ways to engage and help THEM over a period of weeks/months.
Use Twitter regularly and stay tuned in. You'll find ways to help them out by listening!

A really commonly referenced blog post for link building because it is quite epic is: http://pointblankseo.com/link-building-strategies
This may start to get you thinking about some ideas that you may be missing out on to getting links.
From what you're saying, it seems like you've got great content on your site, what may be missing are possibly the relationships. My suggestion to you would be to develop relationships with high profile bloggers in your industry and look to service them my serving their readership. Look to develop an organic relationship with these bloggers, understand how you can genuinely help them and what their audience is wanting. If you're content really is awesome and meets what their readers are wanting, and if you really have developed a real and meaningful relationship with bloggers that goes beyond just getting a link, they'll happily link to you.

Best way to check/find lost links?
Hi all As everyone, we have seen a decrease of domain authority and external links during the last months. with open site Rand is explaining the reason in this in this post, but I still would like to have a look to the links that in theory I have lost during the last months. I thought Majestic was the best option but I have been trying to get the info and I see nothing clear. When I download the fresh or history links, I only see links that are live (in theory, because in history I get a lot not existing but I can not see it without a manual check). The option of lost links is just giving me 1000 links per day, but after downloading some and checking I see that this lost link report is showing me links that are working (but it looks that majestic couldn't access when they did the crawling and show them as lost). Also the numbers of lost links are totally different if you use fresh or historic... Anyone could recommend me a good way to find out links that I really lost? Thanks

Internal Links and Page Authority - Best Practices
Hello, Is it bad (in terms of ranking in the SERPS) if i have a link from a page with PA of 18 going to a page with PA of 21? In other words, does it matter if the page containing the link has a lower page authority than the page receiving the link? Page A links to Page B Page A page authority is 18 Page B page authority 21 could this negatively affect my rankings? Thanks

Is there a way to easily add "domain:" in front of an entire list of domains you want to disavow?
I'm submitting some disavow reports for clients. As most of you likely know you can either disavow a URL or a domain. So, to disavow a url, you would enter into the text file: http://www.example.com/this_page.html and to disavow the entire domain you would enter: domain:example.com I find that in most cases you would want to disavow the domain. For example, if there is a backlink on www.exampledirectory.com/health/page24/, by the time Google goes to disavow that link it may be on page 25. However, it is super time consuming to take my list of urls from a spreadsheet and type, "domain:" in front and also remove the http://www. Is there a way this can be done programatically?

Need feedback: Should we move our blog from blogger to our e-commerce site?
Hi, I write the blog for an e-commerce site that sells swimwear www.allwetbeachwear.com. The blog is currently a blogger blog that lives off the domain. I have always thought that having a blogger blog for the site looked unprofessional yet might be good for SEO since google owns blogger. However recently we are making SEO improvements and want to create more internal links to keep up with our competitors. I am thinking an on-site blog might be good for SEO. What do you recommend for the best SEO results for our site? -keeping on blog hosted on blogger -creating a new blog on our e-commerce platform -hosting the blogger blog on a subdomain of our ecommerce site Thanks!

What do the "best" backlink profiles look like, in terms of percentages from quality content, bookmarks, social media, directories, etc?
I recognize that there is no such thing as one ideal link profile, per se, but I am curious, if you sampled 100 high authority sites, what would their inbound links look like on average, broken out by source type? Some sites would have a ton of social sharing due to their funny pop-cultural content, while others might be quoted and linked in context for their brilliant insights. A very technical resource might gain a lot of links from forum discussions. If I can complete this exercise on my own, I welcome your advice on how to do that with OSE or the like.

What is the best wording you have seen in an outreach email?
We all get them and most of them are rubbish, very few of them have taken the effort to find out who they are emailing. So making it personal and doing some research first is essential but what about the wording of the email... can you share examples you like & that have had more success for you than others?
