URLS appearing twice in Moz crawl
-
I have asked this question before and got a Moz response to which i replied but no reply after that.
Hi,
We have noticed in our moz crawl that urls are appearing twice so urls like this - http://www.recyclingbins.co.uk/about/ www.recyclingbins.co.uk/about/
Thought it may be possible rel=canonical issue as can find URL's but no linking URL's to the pages.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you
Jon
I did the crawl test and they were not there

Hey Jon!
There are only two ways for these URLs to be picked. Relative links in the source code or malformed sitemaps if the <loc>tags are not on the same line as the URL</loc>
Incorrect:
<loc>www.domain.com</loc>
correct:
<loc>www.domain.com</loc>
If the linking page or referral URL is the sitemap, look in the source for the tags. If they are from another linking page, look for hyperlinks missing http://

Hi Jon,
Just to clarify is your report showing the domains with http and without, or with www. and without as the duplicate content?
i have seen this issue on a couple of my sites where it is reporting with and without www. and have just implemented the rel canonical to point towards one or the other as i am very confident that this will resolve the issue.
I'll let you know the outcome.
Regards,
Ben

Is the update site crawl feature following robot.txt rules?
I noticed that most of the errors would not be occurring if Moz's tool followed the rules implemented in sites robots.txt. Has anyone else seen this problem and do you know if Moz will fix this?

Https address has different result that http in Page Optimization Score toll in Moz PRO
The following url
Moz Bar | | TrueluxGroup
https://www.whichledlight.com/t/gu10-led-bulbs has (100 score for keyword 'GU10 LED')
has different on page opmisation score results to
http://www.whichledlight.com/t/gu10-led-bulbs (73 score for keyword 'GU10 LED') Anyone know if we've set something up wrong?
Also, is this even something to worry about, does google treat them differently? We're using the Page Optimisation Tool in Moz Pro ** UPDATE ** It's worth mentioning we are using emberjs, so the website is a single page application.
We use prerender to render the pages for google.0 -
Moz crawler finding my homepage multiple times
Hi and thank you in advance for your help! I have a Moz Pro campaign running (I am a complete Moz novice by the way) for one of my websites (balloonsutah.com). After crawling my site, the Moz crawler informed me that I have 3 pages with duplicate content. While I am not sure why exactly this is happening, the crawler indexed my homepage 3 times under different url's. -balloonsutah.com
Moz Bar | | Keenan-Price
-balloonsutah.com/
-balloonsutah.com/index.html I checked my FTP server and I cannot figure out for the life of me why the crawler is finding anything other than the index.html file. I suppose I need to do something regarding a rel="Canonical" but I am not terribly familiar with that either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Moz Crawler not Identifying all Duplicate Pages
On two recent site crawls (9/27/14 and 11/4/14) for duplicate content the Moz tool did not ID the following 2 pages, which are 100% duplicate to each other: http://www.hooksandlattice.com/planter-hampton-241212.html ; Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/DdwWroUU http://www.hooksandlattice.com/planter-hampton-721212.html ; Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/8Lb1cJZmGrhX As I'm working feverishly to re-write and update the site (goal is ZERO duplicates) I'm finding it challenging to use the Moz tool to get the project done. Does anyone have any feedback or help they can provide for how I can identify all duplicate pages associated with my domain? Thank you! Lindsey Pfeiffer
