Would you launch a paid search campaign with 'Exact Match' only keywords
-
Hi Mozzers,
I'm building a new campaign for a business start-up, and search volumes with the industry are HUGE! I want to target high commercial intent keywords, to maximise the number of conversions / sales from my paid search campaigns.
Using the forecasting tool in Adwords, it looks like I can [exact match] these high commercial intent keywords and still get the click volume I'm aiming for.
Would you, therefore, use this approach - where you only match at an exact level to control the quality of traffic coming through from the paid search campaigns? I plan to achieve relevance by having ad groups broken down into clear themes with around 10 - 15 exact match keywords per ad group.
Let me know your thoughts...
Thanks!

Hello,
Just saw this and wanted to chime in! I agree with Alick300 about exact match keywords, especially for accounts with extremely high search volume. However, I believe adding a few modified broad or phrase match keywords to your account can help you find some well-performing long-tail keywords. Once you find these long-tail keywords, you can choose to bid up higher on them or include them in your Ad Copy. Additionally, if you are a local business, you may find that people are searching for your service along with the city. This can provide you with information for which cities you could potentially be targeting, or where to focus attention. Whatever you choose, monitoring the search term report and appending to your negative keyword list is key!

Hi,
Yes I would go for exact match. In my own campaign I'm using exact match keywords for most of he Ad groups and if you are not getting click volume that you are aiming for I would suggest you to use Broad Match Modifier but keep checking search terms regularly and block irrelevant search terms.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Best practice to separate paid from organic conversions in Google Analytics
I have a PPC campaign for a client with standalone landing pages with a form, not reachable from the website (although in the same domain). I've added the AdWords conversion code to the "thank you" page and I also added a Goal in

Google Analytics whose counter is increased every time the thank you page is reached. This way I can track conversions with both AdWords and Analytics. Is that correct? Should I import back in AdWords the goals from Analytics, as suggested in the AdWords account? I have another landing page with a form in the website, where I send users coming from
organic search, so I set up a second goal in Analytics for the thank you page of this form. Is this the reason why I am supposed to import in AdWords the analytics' goals, so that I could see both kind of conversions in both accounts? But the most important question is: If I send both PPC/organic visitors to the same landing page is there still a way to separate PPC from Organic conversions? Thank you very much for your advice. Need help regarding to get rank for “Product listing Ads” on perticular keyword
I have one project Canvas Champ and we have been running Google shopping campaign for this project and we are getting good visits from some of the keywords. But our client has sorted out some keywords having high search volumes like “Canvas Prints” Now, We want to show our Product listing Ad for this keyword. Let me make you aware about our past efforts: We have set an auto target in Google Adwords for this particular product and make its bid around $8 and we have reviewed that product in listing for 2 days, but we didn’t see our Product Listing Ad on Google Search Result for this keyword. So Now, My concern is that, How can we show our Product listing Ad on Google SERP for this particular keyword “Canvas Prints”? Let me know if you have any confusion with my question. It would be really appreciated if I would get valuable inputs for the same. Thanks,

Adwords enhanced campaigns - Specify alternate destination URLs
Morning Mozzers, I am setting up a new campaign for a client, they would like to target mobile devices which evidently i can no longer do with enhanced campaigns; however i have increased the Mobile bid as much as possible and set the default CPC low to try and minimise appearance in desktop search. The client has a desktop and a mobile version of the destination page but the site will not direct users to the correct page based on their device as they are two separate domains. As such i want to know if i can specify an alternate destination URL for an ad in Adwords based on if the click comes from a mobile or desktop device? The other option is to set all my Ads within the Adgroup to have mobile as the device preference and just use the mobile landing page, but not sure if there is a neater solution here? Thanks, Tom.

Why doesn't exact match appear to be working for me in Google AdWords tool?
Hi guys, I recently read Rand's article here and tried out the exact match symbols on my keywords. However, these don't appear to be working for me as the results aren't showing up as they do in the above SEOmoz article (attached screenshot). What am I doing wrong? Unexpected % of new visits from search traffic.
Hello Three days ago launched an AdWords campaign (text ad) designed to bring people to my site (www.quipeutlefaire.com). I've been tracking the visits using Google Analytics and I find that 67% of Paid Traffic visits are new visitors (see attached image). I find this very weird, I was expecting that people who come to my site through adwords to be completely new visitors (100% instead of 67%) . What's happening? are people using my ads as a sort of "bookmark" to come back to the site? Thank you for your help gsqMj.jpg

Hey there, We got cold called by "Vertical Search Works" - VerticalSearchWorks.com and while it sounds great (low CPC compared to our current PPC stuff) on great networks (DIY, HGTV), no contracts, pause anytime... But RipOffReport has two bad reviews on them and I have not been able to search out anything else on them online. If anyone has insight before we start working with them, let me know! Thanks!
