Do press releases add any link juice?
-
I've been told by PR Web that anchor text in their press releases will add SEO value and increase our page rank. They even charge more for releases that include the ability to link specific keywords to specific pages (anchor text keywords).
So - do such press releases really add any page rank to our site?
Here's our press release: http://www.prweb.com/releases/2011/5/prweb8289567.htm
Thanks,
Alex

Thank you, that's good to know. PR Web charges more for releases that contain anchor text, so I hope it's really worth the higher price.

My experience has been that yes, they help. I get more search results from pages where PR have anchor text in them rather than those with direct links at the bottom of the PR. A lot of times, sites will post the entirety of the PR on their site in the exact form they received it.
Yes, it completely possible, that they will fall completely down into the bowels of your site, but I still receive traffic from sites where my PR is still on the site, and in some cases up to a year after the release.

Interesting thought on not sharing the good content on the press release. That's kinda why I left out the background, story, company formation, motivation behind it etc, for elsewhere, not in the release. Thanks!

Thanks, so it sound like any links from the PR Web domain to our TennisRound.com URL would offer little value.

These links will be good for a short amount of time but they are quickly descend deep into the bowels of the site. Their real value is potential visibility in news and other channels. To be really successful you need fantastic content -and if you have that a PR is probably not a good way to use it.

Hey, a little, but it's one of those questions with no simple answer.
If the service you have put a press release out for is solid, and the press release itself is well written and not just search engine fodder then it may help.
Taking a look, the page is indexed, so the link has likely been logged. Equally, it looks like the press release has been picked up by several other sites and some of these also have followed links to your site.
So, in this instance, it may well give you a boost, but I would not rely on it as a long term strategy as it will certainly be case of diminishing returns.
Press releases, article marketing, links from forums, blogs etc are all things that can help and should feature in your overall link building plan but they are also all things that have been abused. So, as a rule of thumb, if you are promoting something of value in a meaningful way and building value with any PRs, articles, posts, comments etc then this will help build awareness, exposure and you will get an SEO boost out of it as well.
You should try to supplement it with some high quality links, guest blog posts maybe and links from highly reputable sources in the market place you are targeting.
Hope it helps!
Marcus

Internal links: How do I find keywords that are not linked to a URL?
Hi Moz members I'd really like to place an internal link of every instance of an important keyword phrase "cycling caps" or "cycling cap" to my eComm category page
Link Building | | andystorey
https://www.prendas.co.uk/collections/headwear/cotton-caps I feel this would not only help my customers browsing my store, but I believe it will help from an SEO perspective. How can I search my site using Moz, Screaming Frog, Google etc to find every time cycling cap(s) is used but is not linked to the above URL? I can then apply the same for cycling jerseys, socks, etc Andy0 -
What is the number of links do you require your link builder to attain each week or month? What is a reasonable goal?
Hello Mozzers... I would like to get a survey or feedback from other Mozzers who owns an SEO company or manages / hire link builders. **What is the average number of links does your link builder need to attain per week or month? what is their goal? ** I understand quality over quantity but I want to make sure there is a reasonable average to provide them goals and something to achieve on. Of course reward them more if they exceed or get .edu links. What do you institute? What do you think is fair and achievable per website? PS. There is no right or wrong answers here. I am looking for a measurable answer not subjectable. Again just gathering MEASURABLE GOALS.

Disavow links
I am working on an account that has had several seo companies

over the past year so around every corner I discover something new. One the
things I have found are that majority of links to the site is coming from an
outside blog but digging deeper I found that the blog is actually on the same
server as clients. Should I disavow links from that blog or should I leave it
alone?0 -
For a new site, does it matter which sites I get back links from first? I.e., are the first back links more important than later ones?
I've heard that when a site is new, the sources from which it gets its first back links are very important -- that the early links are more important for ranking than later links. Is this true. If so, what would be some good places to get these very first links? Thanks.

Buying links
I have 2 websites to pay monthly to gain links from, number 1 is on the homepage of a directory, it has a PA of 90 and DA of 88.
Link Building | | myloseo
the link will be on the right hand side along with 55 other featured sites.
these links are there throughout the whole site. number 2 is from a website with 20 max sponsored links on a page and will be one of the sub pages on the site with a PA of 74. How valuable if any would these links be? My current pa on the site i wish to send the links to is 26 Can i expect my PA to go up by much? Also i currently have 317 links from 7 root domains on my site will this effect the rank of the paid links? Thanks in advance0
