Conflicting numbers in Google Analytics
-
I am getting 2 completely different numbers in Google Analytics.According to the graph on my Dashboard organic traffic decreased ~40% comparing June 7 -> June 6.However, when I dig a bit deeper and look at the 2 dates specifically compared to each other I get a `3% increase in traffic. When I look at the traffic on just June 7, I get the number indicating the increase.Any ideas or someone getting similar conflicting numbers??

One thing that stands out to me is that you asked your question on June 8th, and you were comparing 7th and 6th, so there might be a reporting delay that could cause conflicting numbers. I've seen this before, and yes, it's weird :S
Is this still happening? Can you compare other date ranges and see what you get?
Just in case, make sure you're comparing the same reports and ensure there aren't any segments applied, if you can compare the numbers in an unfiltered view, that would be even better.

Is there anyway you could possibly add a screenshot.
I personally have not seen conflicting numbers, but it is possible. A screenshot would be awesome.
Sincerely,
Thomas

Do I need a separate Google Analytics ID for a subdomain on my website?
Hello Everyone, I would like to know if I need a separate Google Analytics ID for a subdomain on my website? I have a sub-domain within my website, and the software for the site on the subdomain is asking for a Google Analytics ID. Should I be using the same Google Analytics ID as the main domain or should I be creating a new Google Analytics profile or ID? Thanks. Ryan

Will changing the property from http to https in Google Analytics affect main unfiltered view?
I set my client up with an unfiltered view in Google Analytics. This is the one with historical data going back for years, so I don't want to do anything that will affect this view. Recently, the website moved from HTTP to HTTPS. There's a setting for the property that will allow me to change the property name to https://EXAMPLE.com and change the default URL to https://EXAMPLE.com. Questions: 1. If I change the property name and the default URL, will this somehow affect my unfiltered view in a way that I'll lose historical data or data moving forward? 2. I have heard that changing the default URL to HTTPS will help me avoid a common problem others have experienced (where they lose the referrer in Google Analytics and a bunch of their sessions go to direct / other). Is this true?

Is it possible to import data from an old Google Analytics profile to a new Google Analytics profile?
We have encountered a situation where a client's old SEO firm is refusing to grant us Admin access to our client's existing GA account. For security purposes (so the other SEO firm doesn't delete the existing GA profile) we have started a new Google Analytics profile. Again we do have access to the data in the old account. Is it possible to migrate this old data over (if we just have user access)? Thanks for the help

How can we stop Google analytics pulling in data from another site?
We have a few accounts under one Google login. They all have separate Google analytics codes but one of the sites is somehow pulling in some data from another site but the other site has not got the same analytics code on it. Not sure how this is happening and what we can do about this, is it a bug in the Google Analytics system? Any help would be appreciated.

Google Analytics bug?
Hi, I'm getting hits to this page, it's screwing up my Google Analytics stats. I know it's related with Google Website Optimizer, cuz it correlates with the tests I ran at the same dates. I'm just wondering if you've seen this before and what I should do to clean my stats? And is this affecting my SEO? Because it's still registering hits to these pages but I already stopped the tests a while go. Should I disallow this in my robots.txt file? Thanks! ga_bug3.jpg

Custom Variables to track Vimeo plays on website with Google Analytics?
Hello Everyone, I'm trying to track how many times a Vimeo video is played on my site via GA. Does any of you have any knowledge of how can this be achieved? I've read the documentation and came up with this: After the iframe embed i insert this: Of course the GA is loaded in the header. Does not work, at least i cant see anything in analytics. I have set up the segment as per the attached image. Thanks in advance! Alex E6XnO.png

Mobile and Google Analytics
As my mobile numbers are going up in Google Analytics I'm trying to figure out what phone runs what browser. I see that 93% of mobile users have Safari which I believe is iPhone, iPad and iPods. There is a 6% usage of "Mozilla Compatible Agent". What cell phone would this be?
