Best Way To Get Twitter Followers
-
What does the forum think the best way to get Twitter Followers is?
I'm talking from the perspective from a fairly unknown brand where there's no obvious reason for someone to follow.
-
At the end of each blog post/article remind your readers to follow you on twitter. This work wonders. Another cool way is to pay by tweets. If you provide a downloadable resource on your website, then make it available only after tweeting about it. Make sure that your twitter button recommends to follow you, if a visitors is not already following you. With the passage of time you will get many followers.

The brand/site in question is a very straight forward loan site and at the moment there's not much reason for people to want to go on the site for content purposes. It's more they need a loan and that's all they care about.
The content part is something we're working on for this site, but at the moment, it's hard to get twitter followers via this route.
I was more looking to get twitter followers first who could then be driven to the new content to generate traffic and then re-tweets... reverse logic

Storitz - nice, I've never heard of it, but it looks good.
Thanks for the response

I use Twellow.com - easiest place to find like minded Twitter accounts.

Competitions are always good but really, you want to have a rich social presence that is driven by your content strategy.
So, you post great content on your blog - people read you and follow. They may even then tweet it through your social plugins and you may pick up more readers / followers.
You have a strong presence on twitter, post interesting things, interact with other interesting people to build relationships and ultimately pick up more followers like that as well.
Then, you have strategies for getting followers like competitions where people have to follow you.
Really though, get some good content on the site and tie in twitter very closely with your content strategy and be active on twitter and you will start to build followers.
No silver bullet really, like everything else, the real answer after all the bluster is simply - hard work.

It would be easier if i knew more about your brand, product, service.
Reasons for someone to follow you: - Quality content
- Costumer service
- Competitions
- Competetor
- You follow them
- Like you product, service
If you have traffic to your homapage:
- Promote your twitter account
- Include the twitter follow button
- Give your visitors good reason to follow you
And I guess, just take it from there
-
Tommy,
I saw that and it's good, but it doesn't really tell you how to go from 0 followers to a sizeable number. It's more based on the fact you've already got a base of followers.
Say we had a toilet cleaning firm. Where would you find suitable followers for that without harassing people
Maybe I'm looking for something (Although preferably not) with a bit of a darker hat on...

Getting Google Plus Page to Appear
I've recently been making changes and updates to my company's verified local Google + page--my question is when and/or how do I configure it to appear in the search results? When I type my business into Google (Exchange Capital Management), it's not even within the results displayed. The page isn't accessible unless someone were to Google "Exchange Capital Management Google Plus." As mentioned, the page has been verified, updated, and has about 8,000+ views. Any advice or feedback is appreciated! All best, Lauren McLaughlin

What is your thoughts on the proper way for one brand to promote a sub-brand.
Greetings fellow Mozers! How Do Major Companies Promote Their New Sub-Brands I'm curious to see everyone's thoughts on how and what is the best process to promoting your companies new brand. I see companies like Wayfair.com promoting their sub-brand "All Modern" and "Wayfair supply" (maybe "sub-brand" isn't the best term) in the top left of the page as a link. I believe this is only a SEO play because they are only outbound links to the brand website. If you go to "All Modern" there are no links back to Wayfair. I then looked at a company like Gap.com and notice that all of their other brands are promoted on the website and are also interchangeably linked to one another. Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way to link and or promote your smaller brand that could potentially turn it into a Major Brand. Do you think this is just a SEO linking play. I'm curious to see everyone's thoughts

Could someone please check that thread and clarify my doubt ( the 4 response)

What is the most appropriate way to invite writers and blogger to visit my hotel, in exchange for a review?
My client's own several hotels in Los Angeles. I thought it would be a good idea to ask writers and bloggers to visit the hotel, free of charge, in exchange for a review or write up. Of course, we want to be above board and up front with everything, including encouraging any review to be the truth and forthright, however I just not sure how best to ask them. Sometimes I ramble on and have trouble getting to the point and I know its really important here. Does anyone have any advice here? Many thanks!

SEOmoz Twitter Account Graphic
Hey guys, Could someone please tell me how the SEOMoz team were able to add a graphic on their Twitter profile (https://twitter.com/SEOmoz) underneath their followers? It's the graphic of the plane flying. When I go to the Twitter settings, I only seem to find how to change the background of the profile, nothing in regards to adding a graphic on that spot. Thanks!

Best image size for FB Timeline updates?
Does anyone know the best size for images that are uploaded to FB timeline? For instance if I make a meme, the worlds seem to always get cut off when they show up on people's timelines, or view them for their phone. Any thoughts on this? At first I thought square worked best (and looks like it does if you visit the actual page) but for people viewing on their phones or their own timeline (maybe?) it looks like they are seeing a 4:3 image. Is the image size that people see not universal? Thanks!

What is best way of using facebook share
I recently launched a scrollable web comic at www.shoutout.co.in. In space of 2 days after launch, i got more than 100 likes. While this is great number, i am not sure if this is best usage of options provided by facebook. Which option is best share/like/share-with-comment option? Currently i only have "like" implementation. Is this giving less probability of visibility to friends than "share-with-comment" option? stats and numbers from your experience/campaigns will help.
