Hey Dan,

Thanks for writing in with a great question. Right now, we do not have a way to give an additional user a separate login to the account, though we are working on that for the future, but we don't have an eta for when this feature will be released. Currently, the only option to give another user access to the account is to share your login credentials with them, I'm afraid. In the meantime, if you would just like to share data with the employee, you can set up a custom reprot to be emailed directly to them from your campaign.

I apologize for the inconvenience while we work to add secondary logins to the account.

Hey Ignacio,

It looks like you were able to get a campaign created with out the www, but I did some investigating to make sure there wasn't an issue with www.veinguys.com. I also received the invalid URL error the first time I attempted to create a campaign for the site, but the second time just a minute later, I was able to create a campaign for www.veinguys.com with no error. It seems the site may be having intermittent issues with response time. I would recommend contacting the webmaster and looking into the server logs to see what may be causing a long response time for the site.

Thanks for following up. Unfortunately, it looks like the index from January 17th and the one that was just updated yesterday, the 30th, are both still being affected by the 2 point drop in DA. Our engineers are still working on a fix for this, but you wouldn't see the changed until at least three weeks after the fix is deployed to the index because it will take three weeks to collect and process new data with the fix in place for a new index.

I'm afraid we don't have an eta right now for when this will be fixed.

I just took a look at all of your campaigns and I do see that one campaign has never been connected to GA, but the other four are connected correctly and showing traffic data with no issue. I also don't see any authorization warning on the account. Can you please take another look and, if you are still seeing the issue, email [email protected] with the name of the campaign having the issue and a screenshot of the error you are seeing so we can investigate further?

Hey Ken,

Thanks for following up. You can add a crawl delay for rogerbot in your robots.txt file to limit how quickly we make requests to the site. I would just recommend that you don't add a crawl delay higher than 10 because that can cause us to be unable to crawl the site in a reasonable amount of time to complete a full crawl.

Thanks for writing in and sorry for the trouble! It seems that some DNS hosts are blocking our servers from reaching some sites, which causes this error to be thrown for those sites. Hey Everyone,

Starting yesterday afternoon, we had a an outage that caused the reports permissions to fail. The issue is now corrected and you should be able to run new reports with no issue, but we are still working to regenerate the reports that were requested during the outage with the proper permissions.

In the meantime, you can re-create reports that you are unable to download if you are unable to wait for a final resolution for the original reports.

Thanks for writing in and sorry for the confusion. I'm afraid the server for www.bulkcandystore.com/kosher-candy is returning a 403 forbidden error for our crawler, so we are not allowed to access that page with our tools. The server would respond differently to the browser vs. our tools so I would recommend contacting the webmaster for the site and white-labelling the user-agent rogerbot so that we can access the site in the future.

Hey Anne,

Thanks for writing in. We haven't had any other users reporting that their callto: or tel: links are showing up as relative links in their crawl diagnostics so I dug into the formatting a little bit. From the research I've done (http://demosthenes.info/blog/536/Adding-Phone-Numbers-To-Web-Pages-With-HTML5-and-Microdata), it seems that the links may be formatted incorrectly as they are missing the + symbol mentioned in the post before the number in the link. I also tried clicking the callto: link on the site from a mobile browser and the link was not handled correctly there either. Basically, nothing happened unless I held the link down and then my browser tried to open the page as a relative link, as well.

Since I am not a web dev, I can't really advise on the proper formatting for these links, so I think this would be a better question for the community as a whole. I am going to change the category of the question to Technical SEO Issues and Web Design, which will allow the community to advise the proper formatting for these types of links.

The solution that Carin referred to in the forum of the first link you provided unfortunately didn't work as we had hoped, so we've suffered a bit of a set back on this feature update. We are currently working on a new plan of action, but we don't know how long this may take to resolve. Our current hope is February or March, but it really depends on a number of factors and we can't say for certain when you will start seeing HTTPS in OSE.

I would recommend subscribing to the feature forum and posting questions regarding the status there. That way, you'll get the status you're looking for and it will be in a place for other users to see easily, as well.

Thanks for writing in with a great question. Unfortunately, we are not able to migrate data between accounts because there is a very high risk of data corruption not only to your campaign data, but also to other campaigns that are stored in the same server.

I would recommend exporting the reports from your current account for historical reference if you need to create a new account.

Thanks for writing in. Have you tried reauthorizing the connection to Facebook on your campaign? You will most likely need to log into the Facebook account that you originally used to authorize the connection (if more than one account has admin access to the page) and then reauthorize the connection to Facebook.

Hey There,

Thanks for writing in and sorry for the confusion. The campaign data can update either weekly or daily depending on the section. For example, rankings and crawl update once a week while social, mentions, and traffic data update daily. The link data updates anywhere from 1-4 weeks depending on our index update which is not tied to the campaigns.

I took a look at both of your campaigns and I am seeing that all of the sections that update daily that are set up for those campaigns do show an update for every day since the campaigns were created. It looks like both campaigns have traffic data connected and that dashboard defaults to the weekly timeframe, so you would just need to change the timeframe dropdown in order to see daily data there. For the first campaign you created, you have also connected social accounts and that section automatically defaults to daily metrics.

As for they crawl and rankings sections, your first campaign is set to update by the end of the day Thursday, Dec 5th, and the second campaign should update by the end of the day Friday, Dec 6th.

Unfortunately, it does look like the this is a limitation of the tool and we are unable to export the full social data at this time. Our engineers are investigating if we will be able to edit this limitation in the future, but this would mean a major coding change, so we aren't certain if this is will be possible. I looked into the pages with the ++ in the URL and it seems that they do actually exist on the site, so it isn't an issue with our crawler that is causing these in your crawl errors. For example, a link to the URL http://www.paperstone.co.uk/cat_553_Desktop-Essentials.aspx?filter_colour=Green++ can be found in the source code of the page http://www.paperstone.co.uk/cat_553_Desktop-Essentials.aspx here: http://screencast.com/t/HpHTlSs5gH8H

You can find the referral pages for the ++ pages on the site by downloading the Full Crawl Diagnostics CSV. In the first column, perform a search for the ++.  When you find the correct row, look in the column labeled referrer, AM. This tells you the referral URL of the page where our crawlers first found the URLs that include ++. You can then visit this URL to find the links to those pages.

Since these URLs with the ++ do resolve with a 200 http status and they have the same code and content as the pages without the ++, our crawler will count them as duplicate content. I'm not certain why Screaming Frog and GWT are not find or reporting these pages; it may be that they parse the + signs in the URL differently than our crawler does.

As Keri and bishop23 mentioned, this is most likely not a major issue if GWT isn't reporting the errors, but we prefer to report the issues because we would rather be safe than sorry.

I just looked into the campaign associated with this account and I don't see that we have been reporting any 404 errors on this site, but I do see that the campaign was just created on Nov 26th, so it seems that you may have deleted and recreated the campaign. Since we are no longer reporting any 404s, I can't look into the issue directly now, but if you run into this issue again, I would recommend sending an email directly to [email protected] so we can investigate what may be causing the issue.

You can definitely remove a connection to GA by selecting the Disconnect button from the settings page but I'm afraid we don't have a way to know which account is connected by a user or an admin login.

Keywords are kept separate based on which campaign you added the list of keywords on. I looked into your campaign and it looks like you have added 28 keywords to OHS campaign and 2 keywords for the colewebdev campaign. The 28 keywords on the OHS will only be tied to the domain you are tracking on that campaign and the 2 keywords you are tracking on the colewebdev campaign with only be tied to the domain you are tracking on that campaign.

If the ranking tool you are referring to is here: http://moz.com/researchtools/rank-tracker, that tool is a stand alone tool for one-off rank checking. This is not intended to track keywords for the individual campaigns you have set up on your account. It does look like most of the keywords you are checking on that tool are for the URL that the OHS campaign is tracking, so I would recommend adding them on the Add/Manage Keywords tab of your campaign so they will be specifically shown within the context of that campaign.

Great question! Unfortunately, right now there isn't a way to control the order that your campaigns appear in your dashboard and they can currently only be sorted in the order they were created.

I would highly recommend submitting a request to our Feature Request Forum to add the ability to sort your campaign list by name. I know that would be helpful for many other users, as well!

I just took a look at the campaign on your account and I am only seeing three high priority errors for duplicate content, which are for pages that do seem to be duplicates of each other. If you are running into an issue with a crawl test or a campaign on a different account, it would be helpful if you could email the full information to us at [email protected] so we can investigate further.

As for your on-page grade, having a well optimized page does not guarantee that your page will do well in the search engines for that keyword. For example, there could be hundreds of other pages that are well optimized for the same keyword that have higher authority links, more links, and more relevant content according to the search engines, which would then be prioritized above your site in the ranking results. A great way to research those types of metrics would be our Keyword Analysis tool (http://moz.com/researchtools/keyword-difficulty). This tool will show you the top 10 results for a keyword and the metrics that can indicate why those pages are ranking well. If you run a full report, you can also include your own URL to compare against the pages in the actual rankings.

I'm afraid I am not certain what you mean when you say that you've been told that my social sites are not lining up with my webpage. Can you please clarify that for me?

As for the social data in your campaign, it looks like we are correctly tracking Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. The Social section defaults to tracking on a daily timeframe so if you don't have any retweets, mentions, comments, etc. in the last day, you wouldn't see any interactions listed for those social networks on the main Social dashboard.

If you click into the specific tab for each type of social network, you should be able to dig a bit deeper into the interactions there. I do see interactions for both G+ and Facebook, but it looks like you haven't had any mentions or retweets in the Twitter account you are tracking since September.

I'm really sorry that you are running into this issue with Google Analytics. Unfortunately, the problem is that Google is serving us an invalid authorization token for the connection, so I'm afraid you will need to completely disconnect from GA and then reconnect. If you just reauthorize without fully disconnecting from the account, Google just feeds us the same authorization token, which is no longer valid. I apologize that the error message isn't more clear! We are working on updating that to explain the process more clearly in the future, but the only way for us to get a valid token would be to completely disconnect and the reconnect to your GA account.

Thanks for following up. The site isn't showing faulty data, just different data since the www and non-www versions of the homepage are considered as different pages, which would have different PAs and a different number of links.

Even if your non-www pages redirect to the www versions, other sites may be linking to the non-www versions, which would change which pages are considered to have the highest PA depending on which version of the campaign you are looking at. The non-www versions of the pages still legitimately have links going to them and would be taken into account when we are calculating PA and DA. The non-www campaign is actually giving you a fuller picture of the site.

Both Joseph and Lesley make good points, but I wanted to jump in specifically in regard to our tool.

It really depends on how your site is set up, but creating the campaign for the full root domain mysite.com would mean that we crawl and track every page of the site (up to your crawl limit) include any subdomains you may have. If you create the campaign for the www.mysite.com subdomain, we will only crawl and track pages on the site that include the www prefix. This means if you are ranking for a keyword with the page mysite.com/awesomerelevantpage, we would not include that as a ranking for the www.mysite.com subdomain campaign. Also, if www.mysitecom redirects to mysite.com, we wouldn't follow the redirect so you would only get one page crawled.

My advice when creating a campaign in our tools is to set up the campaign for the full root domain so you get a full picture of your site, unless you only want to track a specific subset of the site separately from the rest of the site.

You should be able to add keywords in bulk with no issue, unless there might be duplicates in the list of keywords, so it would be really helpful if you could send us a list of the keywords you are trying to add along with a screenshot of the "your keywords have been added" message that you are seeing to [email protected] so we can investigate the issue further. That way, we can test with exactly the same keywords you are trying to add and we can easily send the information over to our engineers if there seems to be a bug.

Sorry for the confusion! Full Keyword Difficulty reports can take up to 24 hours to complete after they are requested. I am really sorry that isn't more clear!

As for the search volume, we actually pull that data from Bing's keyword tool rather than GKP. Unfortunately, we are currently only able to provide Bing search volume because Google does not allow us access to their AdWords API. The search engine you select will be used to provide you with the top sites that are ranking for the keyword you are research, so you will see results ranking results for Google when you choose that search engine but you will only ever see Bing search volume. The search volume is not used to calculate the keyword difficulty score and it is just used to provide supplemental information about how many users may be search a particular term in general.

Sorry for the confusion. It looks like you wrote in an email to our support desk on the 14th and Sam Weber responded to you there. I'm really sorry if you didn't see his response!

It looks like you had used your entire account allotment of 50,000 pages crawled on the first campaign you had set up which is why you were not able to create another campaign.

It looks like you've archived the original campaign and set up another campaign with only 1000 pages crawled so you should be able to set up other campaigns on your account now. If you would like to have the original campaign active on your account again, I would recommend temporarily archiving the campaign you currently have active on your account then activating the old campaign and adjusting the page crawl limit to a lower limit for that campaign from the settings page. You would then be able to reactivate your current campaign, since the total pages crawled would then come up under the 50,000 page crawl account limitation.

Hey Jessica,

I just took a look at your campaign and when I click the "Change Profile" button on the settings page and look through all of the GA profiles connected to that campaign, the one listed as connected to your campaign is not showing up so there is definitely an issue with the connection. Something in the connection is blocking us from pulling data for that profile. Can you please try disconnecting your GA account from that campaign and reconnecting to the correct profile again? You will receive a message that your historical data will be removed, but don't worry! We pull all of that data in again once the account has been reconnected.

If you are still running into any issues after you reconnect, can you please email us at [email protected] so that we can have our engineers investigate further?

Yes, we do update you via email once the issue is resolved. If you haven't had an update via email yet, then the engineers are most likely still investigating the issue.

There are also number of reasons that you may be seeing a discrepancy in numbers such as traffic, fans/followers, and engagement that would not be related to a bug. For example, if the site is being shared or even visited through a link shortener, such as bit.ly, we would also not be able to include that information since the social APIs don't follow the redirect and just provide us with share and traffic data for the specific URL. Also, we can only show interactions and fans for public accounts, so anyone who likes a page or a post from a private account would not be included in your metrics, as a limitation of Facebook's API. While you can always view the previous grade of the report in the change column next to the current grade, we don't keep an archive of the full optimization report. I'm afraid we don't currently have a way to keep the old report in Moz Analytics at this time, but you should see the ability to export the report to a PDF in the near future. Unfortunately, that would be the only way to keep historical reports going forward.

For now, you can still export the On-Page reports to PDF from the PRO version of the app so that you can compare the change in factors week over week. I apologize for the inconvenience that causes.
