@miriamellis thank you for your response. We have contacted Google directly but they did not seem bothered and have taken no action.

GMB illegal edits to phone numbers
A client in the skip hire sector contacted me to say that someone is submitting edits to multiple competitors' GMB accounts changing the phone numbers to theirs. It has caused a huge row and legal ruckus as the competitors naturally assume it is them diverting calls. It definitely is not them but could be lead generation companies they use or other competitors trying to discredit them. They are growing fast and are upsetting longstanding players. Has anyone come across this before? If so how did you handle it and is there any chance of Google listening to them and assisting in the situation. Any advice is gratefully received. PS these guys are very ethical and are mortified at the situation they find themselves in.

Square Space Struggles - Is it worth the bother?
Hi all. We have always struggled to rank Square Space and Wix sites. In one case we switched a site to WP and it ranked for a local term within weeks. Does anyone know the technical reason why SS & Wix seem to have this issue? I have searched other questions and have read that SS sites ranking well are hard to find.
I have a potential client with a SS site that is on the floor and he does not want to part with it. I would like to be able to give him some specific information to persuade him to move it. Thanks in advance.

RE: Link Building in 2014
Thanks Andy for the infographic point, it is something we have not not done yet but we are conducting a client survey and have generated a lot of good feedback that lends itself to this approach. I guess for all of us the issue is one of client buy in. We are very good at coming up with the ideas and carrying out the campaigns and outreach in house but if we need to go and stand on the street corner for a few days talking to end users that has to be paid for.
How does everyone else manage this?
Tom Roberts - I would appreciate your views on 'green light' back links for 2014 excluding Ezine.
Thanks a million everyone. K

Link Building in 2014
Hi everyone.
We like most are struggling to link build this year in line with Google guidelines. First step for us is a back link clean up then a really thorough competitor analysis to see what the competitors have that we may wish to emulate. We also ask the clients to provide us with information about their associations, memberships, suppliers, partners etc so we can see if there is synergy to get them a decent link from sites in their immediate orbit.
After that we produce some excellent content but getting it published, particularly with a follow link, is just getting harder and harder. We are also a PR agency so we encourage the clients to 'think out of the box' with regard to a PR campaign. It is fair to say that most clients don't understand what we are trying to do and don't have the stomach to be different.
I was wondering if anyone else did anything different, any fabulous ideas we are missing?
Also is anyone still submitting content to Ezine articles? They are incredibly picky about unique content, grammar etc but is it/will it still be grouped in with the article link farms?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks Karen

RE: What is the best link risk software
Thanks everyone, great advice. I know LinkRisk is £149 per month. I will look at LinkDetox.
We always do a manual review but a couple lately have caught us by surprise, I don't want to take any risks.
Have a great holiday weekend

What is the best link risk software
Hi there. I want to buy/subscribe to the best link risk software I can find.
We are in the UK. Link Risk has been recommended to me. I specifically want a package that will allow me to check content hosts before we commit.
Can anyone help with comments suggestions please?
Thanks

RE: Hit with Panda, but still confused
Hi all
I have been reading this with great interest. I have a client who has suddenly lost ranking for 2 keyword terms why others have remained solid. There are no anchor text links to this keyword. We only conducted on page work for them. There are only 7 linking root domains. The only thing that looks odd is multiple image links from a blog sub domain. Is this what you refer to as 'sitewide blogroll? Any help greatly appreciated. Karen
