Rich snippets
-
Hi Everyone,
Hope you can help me out.
We have customer reviews on our product pages and are also ranking highly for those keywords for those product pages.
To improve our CTR for those keywords I think to show those reviews with organic results using rich snippets would be a good way of improving CTR.
I have asked my programmer to integrate this, which he came back and said after the rich snippets have been integrated we then have to ask Google to integrate it in their search results, is this true?
I hope this makes sense.
Kind Regards

We've implemented rich snippets for a bunch of our retailer pages and they are showing up for about half of them. Is this Google just decided which SERPs to show the snippets for and which not to or is it something more?
-
They will find them as the crawl
-
It is best practice to let Google know about these rich snippets? If so, how is this done?
Yes, i came across the webmaster tool for rich snippets, will be using this for sure.
Kind Regards
-
Well the short answer is, if you do a good job on your website its not spammy, it crawls well, you should get your snippits picked up.
when you get it up and going you can use the rich snippit tool to check them, http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
Make sure you have plenty of the properties filled in, It is my expirence that slim snippits dont work.

Hi Alan,
We are migrating to a new website which is about to go live in December this will include the rich snippets. At the moment the rich snippets have not been coded into the exciting code, so there is nothing to show i'm afraid.
-
You can test your Rich Snippets using http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets
-
Can you give me a URL, i will tell you if it has rich snippits done correctly.
Google decided when to show them it is not automatic, but if done correcly and your site is not too spammy you should be able to get them picked up.

I broke Google! (random snippet appearing in non-personalized search)
Hello all, so either I broke Google or Google doesn't know how to index my page properly (onradpad.com/paymyrent). If you search "pay rent with credit card", whether you're logged in to Google or not, you'll see a snippet from our signup process (which is js) right under the ad slot in the serps (Awesome! You're signed up!) and it will repeat where my meta data should be. It's been like this for well over a month now and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. Additionally, if you search for the branded title of the page "pay with radpad", it pulls language that's not on that page (perhaps from somewhere in the js signup form). Though if you search for "pay rent with radpad" you'll see what my meta description is supposed to look like in the serps. Any ideas as to what the heck is going on?

Can You Use More Then One Google Local Rich Snippet on a single site/ on a single page.
I am currently working on a website for a business that has multiple office locations. As I am trying to target all four locations I was wondering if it is okay to have more then one Local Rich Snippet on a single page. (For example they list all four locations and addresses within their footer and I was wondering if I could make these local rich snippets). What about having more then one on a single website. For example if a company has multiple offices located in several different cities and have set up individual contact pages for these cities, can each page have it's own Local Rich Snippet? Will Google look at these multiple "local rich snippets" as spaming or will they recognize the multiple locations and count it towards their local seo?

Rich Snippets for recipe pages not appearing in Google
We are building a baking website and have implemented rich snippets for our recipe posts. We noticed inconsistent results on competitor sites, and then noticed it was happening to our links as well. Our content has only been live for a week, I know it may take a couple weeks, but other sites that have had their content around for a while have this happening too. For example: When you use this tool: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets And put in this link (competitor): http://food52.com/recipes/864-deep-chocolate-cake-with-orange-icing and press "Preview," you'll see a nice rich snippet preview. Now go ahead and search for "Deep Chocolate Cake with Orange Icing" using Google, you will see that in the search results the image for this link is not appearing. This is happening to all of our links as well. Why? We are using the schema recipe format, but apparently that doesn't guarantee the image will appear in the actual search results. How does Google determine which images are displayed in rich snippets and which aren't?

With rich snippets is it bad to add a city to the company name?
I have a client that is a franchise. Each franchise location has a different office address. Is it bad for me to do the following? COMPANY NAME of CITY ... .... There are about 10 franchisees. Should I use just the company name? Is the city in there going to be a negative?

What are we doing wrong with Rich Snippets?
So, a client webstore has rich snippets on all products, and it seems they are working fine, and are showing up, the only problem is, that the price for an article is not showing up. The part of the code, that shows the price is this: Redna cena:
Technical SEO | | Red_Orbit
29,99 € Is the problem that we have the itemprop="price" in a meta tag? I've read around the internet that if you have a lot of meta, this can be a problem.... Can we change it into: Redna cena: Would this work, or is there another thing that we can try? The URL for this article is http://www.bigbang.si/igre/sleeping-dogs-le-x360-4989980 -
Rich Snippets Inconsistent Display
Hi Folks, We implemented Schema mark up on our hotel details page many months ago now (previously we had a different mark up language, but switched to Schema during a complete page re-design). Its been live for plenty of time now and is being picked up in webmaster tools. http://www.asiarooms.com/en/singapore/singapore/175433-orchard_hotel_singapore.html Even before we switched to Schema we had a very inconsistent display of rich snippet data in the search results and this has continued despite the mark up being implemented correctly. For example, a search in Google Singapore for 'Orchard Hotel Singapore' shows the AsiaRooms.com listing without any rich snippets. You can see that the vast majority of our competitors like Agoda, Booking.com always show rich snippet data (search for 'orchard hotel singapore agoda' for example). I have checked the hotel in the rich snippet testing tool and its marked up correctly such that it should feasibly show the review count and the score. http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/richsnippets?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.asiarooms.com%2Fen%2Fsingapore%2Fsingapore%2F175433-orchard_hotel_singapore.html&html= Whilst Agoda and Booking seem to display rich snippet data on literally EVERY hotel, its very inconsistent for AsiaRooms which is extremely frustrating - feels like some kind of punishment or favouritism. Any ideas why this might be the case and anything I could try to resolve it? Thanks, Ben

Using rich snippets with a CMS?
My site uses the webEdition CMS that is split between templates and documents (pages). A template responsible for a number of documents. If I wish to use rich snippets, how and where can I add the microdata as I can't do it on a page per page basis? My CMS documentation and its developer forum doesn't give any information on this but I'm hoping its a common problem for open source CMS's and there is an easy fix. I live in hope! Iain
