Guest Post Label Devalue Links?
-
My link builders are doing an excellent job of creating well written articles with my links in the body of the text. However, most of them state it is a guest post at the top or bottom of the post. I also notice that the sites the articles are on frequently accept guest posts.
1. Does having the label "guest post" devalue the links at all?
2. Does the fact that the sites often allow for guest posts devalue the links?

Great tip!

Another factor I think should have an impact in these sites was the % of duplicate posts. Some websites are really restrictive on this point and rarely have this problem, but with other ones, I noticed more than 50% of guest posts appear 30-50 times in SERP's. So for now, I always pick 2-3 posts randomly and do a little check.
Panda clear a lot of these, but not all

If they are all going to good neighborhoods then I would not worry about it.
I have seen blogs run by professional societies where all of the posts are written by guests. These are professors, business owners and government folks. Very high quality.

Thanks EGOL! It's nice to see some old faces from SEOChat.
Assuming for #2 that the links are to good neighborhoods, would it be a problem that the majority of their content is labeled guest post and linking out to many sites?

1. Does having the label "guest post" devalue the links at all?
Probably not. Why should it? Bill Clinton might write a guest post for somebody's blog.
2. Does the fact that the sites often allow for guest posts devalue the links?
Maybe. If they are accepting guest posts that link to trashy websites in bad neighborhoods, then YES.

Outgoing links
Hi Guy's, We have a website with no outgoing links (only Facebook). Is this a good way to score better in the SERPS? Or is it better to have some outgoing "relevant" links for a natural linkjuice? Thanks!

Link text
Can anyone give me any advise regarding anchor text in back links on external sites. I have about 8 bloggers reviewing our products on their sites. When they link to our site, they either use the words of our company name or something like “click here” as the words in the link. There are a few key words that we are wanting to improve for so should those words be made as the live link on their site?

JavaScript is crawled by search engines, isn’t it? Does it mean that links embedded in JavaScript pass link juice?
I wonder If links embedded in JavaScript from an external Website pass link juice to the linked page and thus have a positive effect on google rankings. I read that JavaScipt is craweld. Does it mean that also the link juice is passed? I'm looking forward to your answers.

Looking at Page Authority of a link to our website... what Page Authority number should we use in deciding the link is junk?
What are the Page Authority ranges? 1. Excellent link 2. Moderate 3. Total junk link Of course you look at the anchor text you can use, how many links are on the site, how often it is cached. Thoughts?

I have a competitor

that has shot up lately taking number one spot for various keywords when I look
at his links in Open Site Explorer I find many links that are links to downloadable
objects, not web pages. A few
examples, if you click on them, do not open who knows what they are. But what
the story, how are these links to his site, anyone know anything about this. Free link on a Paid Link Blog
Hi there, I have been doing some outreaching, and managed to have a blog post accepted on a authority blog. They included links to my website, and I was very pleased with the placement. However, having browsed through the site, I was worried to see that they openly admit they allow 'reviews' of websites, with backlinks included, for $50 per review. I am worried I might be penalised without actually doing anything wrong. I did not pay for my link, but the link has been placed on a site which openly admits they accept payment for links. Should I be worried? Should I ask them to take it down? To date I have been told countless times by bloggers I am outreaching that if I pay $10, $50, $100 etc I can write a blog post. I have never accepted because of the risk of penalization. Now, unwittingly, I am linked to from a paid link site with a blog post that would look like I have paid for it because of the placement and style of back link. What do you think? Thanks,
