Site Ranks Better than Comp...but why?
-
My site is ranking better than some of the competition sites even though the Moz Rank and Moz Trust are lower, anyone know why?

Thanks for your help, I will make it a priority to fix as many as I can each and every day. What tool were you using to find the errors?
You are right that I don't rank well for Calgary condos but the other sites are only marginally better.
-
you are correct, for most errors it would be worse if they were on the more impoartant pages.but the 3,000 leaks is just as imporant no matter where they are, as link juice flows though a site. if you get a link to page B it also helps Page A, You have a leak in B it also affect A.
blogs are most likly place to find errors as they are dynaicly produced, just like a CMS, and they usealy produce messy code
-
I am happy to start working on the issues as well. Now it will take time - a lot of time. But bit by bit, I should make headway. I think most of the issues are blog posts, do you think they have the same weight at the rest of the site?
-
There are more then a few technical issues. over 3,000 link juice leaks i found.
you are doing well as Real Estate is very competitive, but you could do better.
I use this analogy, if a fisherman has holes in his net, he needs to do more fishing then the man who does not. If you have violations in your site you need to do more link building. -
Ok thanks. Yes a few technical errors that I need to work on, other than the scan that is here, would there be more I can do to find more errors? If so where can I find out that info so I can work on those things.
My concern is that this site as well as a couple others that are currently below are working hard to get to the top and I don't want to find myself at the bottom of the page in the next while.
I wasn't overly concerned with Bing, maybe I need to look at it closer. I have been doing a slow clib there, so hope it continues to improve.

What are there keywords?
How do you do for calgary condos?
But you do well for calgary realestate, which is obviously a compeditive keyword
i did a scan on your site and it has a lot of technical problems, so i would not say you have an advantage there.
You do have a keyword domain name, i looked at a few others that have keyword domain and you beat all in rank and trust exept for calgaryrealestate.ca and they dont beat you by much. and they come just behind you.You may have other factors correct that google likes, i also notice you dont do well in Bing
i dont see a lot of suprise here. -
I actually beat them on all keywords so not sure how that goes with the theory. ?
-
Anthony is correct, they may not be optimized for the same keywords, they may beat you on others.
Also Page Rank and Trust are only one factor. No use pointing links at a site that is technicaly flawed, and many if not most sites on the web in my opinion are -
Maybe your link quality is better for the "keyword" you are using...My rookie guess...But, I would look at that including your anchor text from Higher Quality sites..
Just a thought...

Competitor Ranks Top Keywords Without Backlinks
One of my competitors is ranking very well for many different competitive keywords (1k+ searches per month). I'm trying to figure out how in the world he is ranking so well. I've signed up for MozPro and looked at his back-links. He has 1 branded site-wide back-link from a decent blog. He also has 1 contextual back-link from a decent blog. Other than these 2 back-links, the rest are garbage links unlikely to even count for anything (he has maybe 12 of these low quality back-links). My website on the other hand has more than 15 back-links from different (high quality) websites and does not rank anywhere near this competitor. This leads me to believe that either MozPro back-link reporting is inadequate or there is foul-play on the part of my competitor. As far as on-page SEO is considered, his website is far inferior. Therefore, I highly doubt this would play a role. What are some reasonable approaches I can take to better understand the cause of this discrepancy. Clearly the back-link reporting has not revealed any answers.

Competitor's Ranking's Reports are Showing Blank Values for Rankings
When selecting competitors to see how they rank for specific terms in the ranking's report page here, it loads the page normally, but without any actual rankings. Where values should be, it lists all values as our competition not ranking whatsoever (for all competitors). I'm not sure if there is something we're doing wrong, or perhaps we just need to wait for a refresh, but if anybody could help out, that would be wonderful!

IP Address Of Site
Hi there, really new to seo and loving being able to research everything on seo moz. I have a question about the ip address of my site: I use a company that sells templated real estate websites (I'm a realtor) and I'm noticing all of their websites show as having the same ip address. There are probably 100's of sites on their server targeting the same keywords as I am, would this affect my ranking at all? I'm just considering switching to a Wordpress site with a unique IP address, so I'm curious to find out how the seomoz members would answer this question. Cheers, Adrian

Site redirect
Hi, Our site www.suncamp.nl has, for language reasons, 2 redirects So : www.suncamp.nl is redirected with a 301 to www.suncamp.nl/nl/nl and is than redirected 301 to http://www.suncamp.nl/nl/nl/home/uc19-l1-n804/ My question is; is this bad for our SEO? Recently we've been doing a lot of linkbuilding and SEO copywriting, but in comparison with our competitors were lagging behind. So I'm looking for other bottlenecks. Kind regards, Dennis Overbeek My email: [email protected] ACSI

In Open Site Explorer, what does it mean when a linking page does not contain any reference to the URl entered?
When running Open Site Explorer on a particular URL, I get a list of linking pages. Many of these pages have a high Page Authority. I am assuming that this is a list of pages that presumably link to the URL I entered. First, is this correct? Next, when I click on an entry in the list I don't see any reference to the URL on the page, even viewing the page source. What does this mean and why is the link in the list?
