Crawl went from a few errors to thousands when I added Blog
-
I am new here. I recently got the errors from SEOmoz crawl on my site down to just a handful from a couple hundred. So I took the leap and moved my blog to www.mysitename.com/blog (which I see recommended here) and now my errors are in the thousands.
My blog which was a separate url has pages back to 2007.
I am not sure if it is appropriate to post my site url in a question here?
One error that really stands out is this:
Description
<dd>Using rel=canonical suggests to search engines which URL should be seen as canonical.</dd>
On my root page I have:
rel="canonical" href="http://www.mysitename.com"/>
Thanks for any help...

Thats not the ones you get with a pro account, but it prooably does much the same.
I use the Bing SEO Toolkit to crawl your site. But SEOMoz should find much the same

Can you tell me where to look for SEOMoz list of broken links?
-
I found over 300 broken links, that was only a sample, i would suggest there is many more.
Hiow many did SEOMoz report.
-
removed link name
-
What is the URL i will tell you if they are real of not.
-
Yes it is a "notice", so it is just information to me not an error.
Thank you!
I also have several 404 Red Status Codes any idea what these are?
I read the recent posts about them and that they may disappear on a future crawl...

This canonical error is a notive not a error correct?
if so it is just letting you know they are there, it is important you dont have canonicals in pages and not know.
Canonicals in every page pointing to itself was seen as a good idea to help protect against screen scaping, but recently Bing has said that it is a incorrect use and that they will lose trust in your canonicls if used in this way.

Crawl Diagnostics 2261 Issues with Our Blog
I just recently signed up for MOZ, so much information. I've done the walk through and will continue learning how to us the tools. But I need your help. Our first moz crawl indicated 2261 issues (447 404's, 803 duplicate content, 11 502's, etc). I've reviewed all of the crawls issues and they are linked to our Yahoo hosted WordPress blog. Our blog is over 9 years old. The only issue that I'm able to find is our categories are not set up correctly. I've searched for WordPress assistance on this topic and cant find any issues with our current category set up. Every category link that I click returns Nothing Found Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post. http://site.labellaflorachildrensboutique.com/blog/ Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

How can I cancel a running crawl test?
I put in two urls that were incorrect and now I need to cancel the report generation. Is there a way to do this? And if so, would I get my crawl-credits back? Are they cumulative?

Crawl Diagnostics 403 on home page...
In the crawl diagnostics it says oursite.com/ has a 403. doesn't say what's causing it but mentions no robots.txt. There is a robots.txt and I see no problems. How can I find out more information about this error?

Changing the Timeframe of Historical Crawl Data
Hello, Just read a great post about the implications of duplicate content for sites after the most recent Panda update: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/duplicate-content-in-a-post-panda-world?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+seomoz+(SEOmoz+Daily+Blog) In the post is an image or crawl data history that shows months, not days or weeks, worth of trending data as it relates to duplicate content. So my question is this: How do I change my view/date range on my own campaigns so that I can view the trailing months of data rather than only what seems to be the past 4 weeks or so? This would really help me identify the impact of some on page changes we've recently made for a client. Many Thanks, Jared

Crawl Diagnostics bringing 20k+ errors as duplicate content due to session ids
Signed up to the trial version of Seomoz today just to check it out as I have decided I'm going to do my own SEO rather than outsource it (been let down a few times!). So far I like the look of things and have a feeling I am going to learn a lot and get results. However I have just stumbled on something. After Seomoz dones it's crawl diagnostics run on the site (www.deviltronics.com) it is showing 20,000+ plus errors. From what I can see almost 99% of this is being picked up as erros for duplicate content due to session id's, so i am not sure what to do! I have done a "site:www.deviltronics.com" on google and this certainly doesn't pick up the session id's/duplicate content. So could this just be an issue with the Seomoz bot. If so how can I get Seomoz to ignore these on the crawl? Can I get my developer to add some code somewhere. Help will be much appreciated. Asif
