Huge increase in rank ..

Hi
Today I went from 8th to 1st place for my main keywork ( barneklær) childrens clothing in norwegian . Ive been trying to link build regularly. Last couple of weeks ive gotten links from a few catalogues and some blogs and I by no means expected a rank increase like this. Ive tried to look them up to understand why this happened - but i cant understand it. Any ideas as to how i can find out. I just dont want to drop 7 spots again without knowing what happened ..

Easy double check is to use Chrome - open a Chrome session and then do CTRL+SHIFT+N - opens Chrome in "incognito" mode...

Was personalization .. again. Logged out and cleared history and there i was back again 2 9th spot ... -
In the US your website is not showing up as #1. You may have to log out of your google accounts and clear your history. I sometimes ask my friends to google my company to see their results because they never search my keywords. Good luck!

Been checking it in several different ways. My samsung mobile phone has never been affected by my personalized search results. So i am pretty sure its real ..

How are you coming up with a 1st place ranking this might be taking into account your personal search patterns and location more than actually ranking for this term.

Website Ranking well in Mobile but not in Desktop
Hello guys, Recently we are experiencing good rankings for our targeted keywords in mobile but in desktop the rankings are not progressing. For example, in Mobile, our main targetted keyword ranks in 7th position but in Desktop we are stuck in 11th position. Ranking question
I have a question about the organic listing vs local listings my website ranks 1st for the local listings but I'm worried that since there's a site that is over the local the local listings im loosing traffic. I have a seo company working on my website. should I create a page my www.website/keyword vs building links to website.com. Multiple guest posts from one site have any effect on rankings?
I have started guest blogging and have sites asking me for more content. I understand that regular guest blogging is great for building authority as an author and has the potential to get more links through word of mouth and other sites linking to me. The more posts I do the more exposure I get. But if I have say 3 or 4 posts on an external site with each linking to my site (to a different url and with different anchor text) does that have any effect on rankings as all links come from the same domain? As I understand it links from different root domains are what matters. Presumably a site with links from 5 different sites with 10 links on each external domain totalling 50 links wouldn't rank as well as a site with links from 50 different domains (1 per domain)?

How many good links does it take to improve the rank
Just wondering how many good links (PR 3-5) it generally takes to improve the site in a competitive space. That is assuming the links will be procured (earned) from the sites in the same domain.

Why have my rankings suddenly plummeted?
My site has been ranking well for the last couple of weeks on it's primary term "glee fansite" and now the rankings literally plummeted 5 days ago and now it is around 22 for "glee fansite" and many of it's other terms have just dropped out completely!
