How often does Organic Traffic Data update?
-
The latest traffic I see is from week ending 2nd Jan 2011, this seems an overally long time to wait for a traffic update, given that tools such as Raven can provide live stats.
-
Oh, by the way.
There are several different reports in the Web App that all update at different times.
1. Your Crawl - Each crawl takes about one week to complete and process the results. Generally, you'll see the results 5-7 days after the beginning of your crawl. If it's been significantly longer than that, contact the help team ([email protected])
The date of your crawl is dependent on the day you first set up your campaign. This cannot be changed.
2. Rankings - Once per week. Because rankings are checked independent of your crawl, the actual date they update in your campaign may be different than your crawl.
3. Traffic - Once per week. Always Monday though Sunday.
4. Link Analysis - About once per month, following updates in the Linkscape Index

Hi MisterG,
The traffic stats update once per week, but they are a little confusing in how they are displayed. We can definitely do a better job messaging.
A "week" runs from Monday thru Sunday, so if your traffic report says Week of: 1/2, this actually covers the time period from January 2nd to January 8th.
So your next traffic update will be Monday, which will cover 1/9 to 1/15.
(as I look at it, it definitely isn't intuitive in the Web App that these are the dates. I'll pass the message along to the team and see if they can make this more clear)
Thanks for the heads up!

Cool! Evil Edna! Just an FYI, My last rank update was January 9th, and a new crawl is running right now.

I was wondering the same thing... my last update was 1/2 and this notice has been showing for a couple days
Next Crawl in Progress! Started: Jan. 13th, 2012
Seems like it's hung or failed...

Organic Traffic Drops to Zero After Site Migration
I know this question is terribly general . . . but I don't even know where to start in terms of sharing info, which I would be glad to post on request. My site was recently re-designed and migrated to a new server. I certainly expected SOME drop in traffic as google gets the snew site all figured out, but as you can see this drop has been dramatic. It's a simple wordpress site, I have yoast ptimized on it, I don't have many obvious errors that have not already been fixed that I can see.

Is SEOMoz better than Traffic Travis ?
I've been trying both programs for the free trial and I'm not sure which one is exactly better. they seem to me that both give a similar asepct of research, However SEOMOZ seems to be updating more frequntly. On the seconnd hand, traffic travis is way more cheaper only $97 one time fee as apposed to SEOMoz $100 per month Could someone convince me SEOMOZ is the better tool?

Latest OSE Update - Strange Numbers and Links
Hey everyone. I just checked our website in OSE with the latest update and noticed some strange numbers. The number of linking domains skyrocketed from 300 to 785 which definitely caught me off guard. Like all good SEOers I work hard to get links, but in a typical month I usually get between 40 and 50. To suddenly jump up by over 300 seems odd. Digging deeper, I noticed that some of the incoming link domains could be considered less than trustworthy (pages filled with links), while others I couldn't find at all on the page in question. I also never ever asked for any of these links, nor did anyone on my team. Should I be worried? I've heard of websites who purposely gain bad links to their competitors in order to penalize them. Is there an easy way to find out if this is going on? Could this possibly be a problem with OSE and just reporting non-existant links? Thanks for your feedback! Andrew BTW, the website in question is www.gooverseas.com

How can I update On Page Optimization Reports following 301 redirect?
A few weeks ago I ran the SEOMoz On Page Optimization Reports for one of my sites. At the time, the site homepage was duplicated .com/ and .com/index.html (I know!). The On Page Optimisation Reports I ran at the time obviously included both as individual pages. I've now corrected the duplicate issue with a 301 but the On Page Optimization Reports are still looking at the rankings for .com/index.html and therefore showing "not in top 50" for keywords where I'm actually ranking 1st - any idea how I can get the reports to update so they don't continue to look for .com/index.html? Thanks!
