Why am I not in Top 50?
-
I have an on-page ranking report of 'A' for my search term 'titleist pro v1' on the following page:
http://www.acegolfballs.com/category/Titleist_Pro_V1___V1x/Pro_V1,i.html
How is it then that I am not even found in the top 50 results?
Many thanks in advance!

Hi Simon. Your on-page optimisation is just one of many factors. Just sorting out the on-page optimisation isn't going to be enough.
I notice from doing a keyword difficulty report that your chosen keyword seems to be highly competitive. The ranking sites have many more inbound links than you.
I also note that your page and site overall has very few inbound links and as such a low authority.
If you're going to want to compete for this keyword you're going to have to build some good quality inbound links. A good place to start may be by analysing your competition to see where they are getting their links from. Looking them up in Open Site Explorer is a great way to do this.
Hope this helps.

Much as people hate to hear it, On Page plays a very minor roll in what ranks and what doesnt.
Your page itself isnt a particularly strong page (only 1 inbound link pointing to it) but more importantly your domain itself is just not there.
Take a look at these 2 links:
The first is a comparison between your page and the page ranking in the lowest spot on page 1 for the phrase:
This second one is a broad look at those in the top 10 for that phrase:
Pay special attention the PA/DA scores, The root linking domains to both the page and the domain itself.
Right now it looks like your entire site has about 25 unique root linking domains. Thats something you'll want to work on. Try and get the best links you can of course but any links are going to make a big difference for you right now. Spread em around. A bunch to the home page, a couple to this specific page. This is going to be a major factor on when and how high you rank. Good luck!

Hi Simon,
Whilst having an 'A' on page grade is great, it isn't too difficult to achieve and by no means guarantees rankings on it's own.
Look into improving your PA/DA, work hard on improving the quality of links to your page and domain, with good anchor text as a start. Also don't forget about the Google products (which are featuring on the first page). Interact on review sites and get your company listed. There is a blog post below which should help.
SEO is a sum of many parts, pay attention to them all, not just one.
Good Luck.
Danny

Can we use "top 10" in title?
Hi All, This is a query regarding title tag.I have a listing page with list of hotels in each city. To improve CTR, I used "Top 10 hotels in Boston" as title even though I am showing 25 hotels per page. The page takes about "hotels" but I didn't use "top 10" term anywhere in the page. Is this called keyword stuffing? Should I use "top 10" somewhere in the page as my title says so? Thanks for your help!

Should title contain the term Top 10?
One of my clients' run a hyperlocal marketplace (have different pages for each city) to hire music teachers. Should the title be "Hire Violin Teachers, Tutors from Boston"? or "Top 10 Violin Teachers of Boston". I prefer former title as it has 2 keywords - "violin teachers", "violin tutors" than latter. But my client argues that "Top 10" has a strong affinity to attract users that would increase CTR. Am I right? or Is he right? and Why?

Should the title tag now be 50 characters long?
Hi, I'm fairly new to SEO and as a rule so far I have been making every page title around 70 characters in length, after analysing the a website that I'm currently working on in the MOZ tool it say's that the page title element is to long. Does anyone know if I should carry on writing titles 70 characters in length or if I should go down to 50, I have been using this tool (http://www.seomofo.com/snippet-optimizer.html) as a guide if you know of any others then that would be great and any advice will be greatly appreciated. Regards Chris

A popular page has gone out of the top fifty what have i done wrong
Hi, we have a very popular page http://www.in2town.co.uk/Gastric-Band-Hypnotherapy and it has always done well with our readers as well as ranking with google. we were on the first page for a long time and then in january we dropped to the top of the second page in google and now we are not in the top fifty. Have i done something wrong with this page, is it under optimized. Basically i have not really thought about optimizing the page, i have always just had articles on their and having the intro with the links, i am not sure if i should just have the links on there without the intro. The keyword we have is gastric band hypnotherapy and i would have thought with all the content we have on the subject the page would still do well. It seems something is really wrong, not sure if i have to many articles on the page or not. any advice would be great.

Moving Top rank Page urls off my Home page and nesting them on one page? Good idea?
I am basically trying to cut down the amount of links on my home page to make it less eye boggling and move stuff around. So i have of my Urls on my home page that lead to pages that rank very well within google. My questions is can i remove those urls to a separate page to group them together and then showcase that one link to that page on my home page. Is that a good idea or i am going to loose my link juice and position in search? The physical urls on those pages wont change at all.

Jquery in top of page vs text on bottom page
Is it the best way to use jquery sliders on the top of your page to still get all your text above the fold and score in search engines? for example: http://www.wolf-howl.com/wp-conte... is much better to score high ranks in search engines than http://www.wolf-howl.com/wp-conte... ?? Thanks!
