How can I fix Duplicate Page Content Issues on my site : www.ifocalmedia.com. This is a WP site and the diagnostics shows I have 115 errors? I know this is damaging to my SEO campaign how do I clear these? Any help is very welcome.

Hi Ahtisham,
You mentioned both Duplicate Content and Rel Canonical errors. There might be some confusion because rel=canonical is not an error, but a warning. In most cases you don't need to do anything about it.
But it's good to fix the duplicate content errors. Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin is usually the tool to do this (although it doesn't work in every situation - depending on your Theme)
Duplicate Content in Wordpress is often caused by:
- Category Archives
- Date Based Archives
- Tag Archives
If these are creating pages that are very similar (mostly empty or repeating pages) you may want to stop search robots from indexing these pages. The Wordpress SEO plugin can help with that under the "indexation" tab. You can check the boxes to disable indexation of these categories - but be careful! You don't want to block something accidentally. This is a very powerful tool, so use it wisely.
Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about - https://skitch.com/cyrusshepard/8et13/indexation-above-the-fold-wordpress
Hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

No luck with getting this issue resolved so far. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have the Yoast plugin installed for a few months now and still no luck.
-
You need to wait for the next week's crawl or request a custom crawl to see a reduction in your duplicate content. For the canonical tags, it's a notice and not an error -- just a "hey, be aware that it's there, and make sure it's implemented correctly" note.
-
Sorry but it still does not answer my question which is to eliminate these errors/notices. I have had Yoast installed since creating the site and I need to know how I can fix this issue specifically.

Change the DOT to a . and it should work - I am looking at it now. This should walk you through everything you need
Cheers

This link does not work. I have already installed the plugin but just need to know how to clear these rel canonical errors.
-
This is old but should walk you through proper set up.

Its the canonical support that should help you with your duplicate content errors
-
I have already added this plugin. How do I specifically use this to remove the errors?
-
Go to your Dashboard and click add new plugins and type in Word Press SEO Plug in and download the one from Yoast.com
That is what you need

Duplicate product content/disclaimers for non-e-commerce sites
This is more a follow-up to Rand's recent Whiteboard "Handling User-Generated & Manufacturer-Required Duplicate Content Across Large Numbers of URLs." I posed my question in the comments, but unsure it will get picked up. My situation isn't exactly the same, but it's similar: Our site isn't an e-commerce site and doesn't have user reviews yet, but we do have maybe 8 pages across 2 product categories featuring very similar product features with duplicate verbiage. However, we don't want to re-write it because we want to make it easy for users to compare apples-to-apples to easily see which features are actually different. We also have to run disclaimers at the bottom of each page.\ Would i-framing the product descriptions and disclaimers be beneficial in this scenario, with the addition of good content? It would still be nice to have some crawlable content on those pages, so the i-framing makes me nervous unless we compensate with at least some above-the-fold, useful content that could be indexed. Thanks, Sarah

WordPress - duplicate content
I'm using WordPress for my website. However, whenever I use the post section for news, I get a report back from SEOmoz saying that there's duplicate content. What it does is it posts them in the Category and Archive section. Does anyone know if Google sees this as duplicate content and if so how to stop it? Thanks

Duplicate content issue in SEOmoz campaign.
Hi, We are running a campaign for a website in SEOmoz. We get a dup content issue warning: http://www.oursite.com and http://www.oursite.com/ are being seen as 2 different urls. Only difference among 2 urls is the trailing slash at the end of the second url. Why is this happening? I was aware of www vs non www but never heard of an issue related to the slash. Thanks for your help!

Is the www and non www isue realy seen by Google as duplicate content?
I realy don't understand how Google could posibly devaluate a link because the site displays the same content with www and without www. I mean did somebody recently saw a devaluation of a domain because of this isue? I somehow can not belive this because it is the standard when geting a new webspace that the new website display the same content with and without www. Is a redirect realy necessary?
