SEOMOZ stopped counting local results as a rank?
-
I had a terrifying experience today upon receiving my weekly rankings report that stated I had dropped out of google for the majority of my keywords! However upon further inspection it would appear the report is not including local results in the ranking (my page shows up #1 but is a local result). This didn't happen before, did something change that I didn't know about?

We've been having the same issue (it impacts on client evaluation and reporting significantly), and I just found a blog post written by SEO staff about a week ago:
He mentions the change, and says that they are considering giving more options in the interface by which to view your results (i.e. by absolute organic position, not just "natural with universal excluded".) I would visit the post, comment, and also follow the link to the feature request page for this and vote it up - maybe that'll help the change get made - and sooner.
Good luck!

Thanks for the response Chiaryn, are there any further resources on seomoz talking about the change? I'd be interested in learning more about the technicalities behind the decision to make that change. Currently almost all of my keywords are ranked on a hybrid local result. I'm not sure if the new rank tracking is going to be very useful for someone in that scenario. Would you have any ideas on alternative methods of tracking local rank results on seomoz or elsewhere? Thanks again, I appreciate the help.

Hey Adam,
Thanks for writing in and sorry your rankings are looking off.
We've recently changed the way that we considered the blended places results so they are not considered to be the same a normal result in Google. While we were previously reporting these "places" keywords as ranking on the first page, we will no longer be counting the places results as ranking results for those keywords. I'm really sorry for the confusion!
I hope this clears things up a bit. If you have any further questions, please feel free to write us at [email protected].

Did you reconnect your GA account a few weeks ago? Here's the announcement:https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/21081482-reconnect-your-google-analytics-in-your-campaigns
Not saying that that's the problem, but it's the only thing I can think of right now.

I am pretty sure thats how it has always been

SEOmoz campaign - keyword rankings...
Hi there, I have a quick question: Does it make a difference if I add keywords to a campaign with the '[' and ']' brackets included? I just realized that I had copy/pasted many of my keywords from the exported CSV from the Google AdWords Keyword Tool and I fear that the keyword rankings on SEOmoz might factor the brackets as part of the keywords themselves. Thanks in advance! Ben

Seomoz crawling filtered pages
Hi, I just checked an seo campaign we started last week, so I opened seomoz to see the crawl diagnostics. Lot's of duplicate content & duplicate titles showing up, but that's because Rogerbot is crawling all of the filtered pages as well. How do I exclude these pages from being crawled? /product/brand-x/3969?order=brand&sortorder=ASC

SEOMoz rocks, but is it breaking Google's webmaster guidelines when it comes to check rankings?
Hi all, The Google's webmaster guideline in question reads... "Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google." So, when WebPosition Gold is not recommended then how come SEOMoz is acceptable to check ranks for websites belonging to SEOMoz PRO? Do Google neglects breaking of few guidelines by good boys? Thanks in advance.

Why did SEOMoz only crawl 1 page?
I have multiple campaigns and on a few of them SEOMoz has only crawled one page. I think this may have to do with how I set up the campaign. How do I get SEOMoz to crawl more than one page on these campaigns.

Rankings in Google UK
Hi there, Can someone explain the difference between the results in Google UK - the default is 'The Web', whereas I can opt to choose 'Pages from the UK'. My question is: If I'm tracking rankings for Google United Kingdom in SEOMoz, is it tracking the results from 'Pages from the UK' or the default setting of 'The Web'? Are there any statistics on how many people choose to see 'Pages from the UK'? Thanks

About NOFOLLOW tag for SEOmoz analysis
Hi all, Another issue while trying to resolve all the duplicate content SEOmoz reports to me. May be some of you guys can help: I have a dynamic error page on our website, generated in case of error, that can happen on many urls. Of course that one should not be indexed. I added the following tag on the HEADER: name="robots" content="NOODP,NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW" /> To me this should prevent from having this page indexed, but also from having this page reported by SEOmoz analyzer as duplicate content. Any hints?
