Advice needed

Hi Guys,
We are trying to increase our rankings for the term "natural beauty products" for our home page....
I have created an article all about natural beauty products with the url as...
domain/natural-beauty-products.html
what I am worried about is this... because this page has more information all about the key word phrase & the url is the keyword phrase, will it out do my root domain ranking?
I created the page to try and give the home page some weight for that key phrase, now I am wondering if I should have had the url as something like "why we love natural beauty products"
then in that page included the keyword phrase link back to the home page!
Hope this makes sense.

We do have a blog, I just tried the link and it worked fine?
The only link is from the about us menu. Is that ok?

In the footer your got a link going to blog, this is a broken link, remove it until there is actually a blog for it to go to.
Do you have a link on your site somewhere leading to that article you wrote?

They have created a inner page, optimised for the keyword they are going after on the homepage, so title tag, url, h1, content on article page all optimised towards "natural beauty products".
Then running an anchor text link out of the content to the root.

When writing articles you are always get strong article pages that come up before your home page on curtain terms. If it is a major topic as you have mentioned then just make sure you link to your home page and also make sure the home page contains the main topic keyword. You must make sure that all your article pages have very strong and clear call-to-actions otherwise it defeats the point of them ranking well and acting like valuable entry pages (which they should)

I cant see it out ranking your homepage to be honest, maybe change your title tag to 'Why we Love Natural Beauty Products' so it fits in with your h1 tag.

Need seo advice! At a fork in the road!
Hi, I m having a difficult time deciding what steps to take next, about my marketing strategy. I have 2 e-commerce sites for more than 7 years, one of them got a google link penalty back in september 2012 and lost 80% of organic traffic. I have worked on the bad links, got some of them removed and others disavowed. After 5 months of hard work and getting high quality links from authority sites related in my industry, I received a message from google saying that the manual spam penalty was revoked. This was in feb 26th. Since then I have got couple more high quality links and content to the site, but the organic traffic is still how it was prior to penalty revoked (at 20%). I still have no revenue from this site and i don't see what else I can do or how long I should work on it to see some improvement on traffic. My other site on the other hand is doing just fine but has some conversion issues. I m thinking of dropping all seo related activities for my first site and focus on the second one to see if we can have some increase on the organic traffic of that site. If I was to do a 301 redirect from my first site to the second one, what kind of effect will this have on the second site, would that be a negative or positive impact in terms of traffic? also thinking of moving the site from x-cart platform to magento. I appreciate any advice i can get here. Thank you Nick

I need help regarding my new website.
Hello , I actually came here looking for help. I have always worked on old and aged websites, and they all have been huge success, may be because i really got familiar with those kind of websites.Now, i am working on a new long term project. Its a 8 months old website and i dont have a clue where do i start from. Its a technology website and i need to target traffic from britain. I have done whatever i could regarding Onpage SEO, but i simply have no idea where do i start from with link building. Am I using my Blog properly? -- Advice Please
Hello... I am just looking for some feedback in regards to the blog on my website. I am using the blog to create unique and fresh content, hoping that it will in turn help my site attract visitors and better rankings... My question is, does each post have to be at least 500 words or is a 300 word post fine? I do put hyperlinks back to the correlating pages on the site inside each of these posts, just wanted some feedback on if everything i write needs to be roughly 500 words..... Re april 5th post on over optimization - need clarification blogging
I mainly do content creation for clients .e.g. site and blog on word press - then link the blogs to the related static page. I have been just linking to the static page using keywords that match the title tag keywords. Is that correct?

Other than the homepage, what other pages need linkbuilding TLC?
With my linkbuilding efforts, I know what keywords I want to target but my homepage ranks for most of my keywords. The other pages were written and built for specific keywords, but do they need linkbuilding TLC? They don't rank in the SERPs much anyway (if not at all) and the homepage is by-far the strongest in the SERPs.
