Google analytics for your mobile sub-domain
-
Hi All, I have just started mobile sub-domain for my desktop site.
But I don't to know how to configure analytics for mobile sub-domain.
I want to track result between desktop and mobile site.
Can any one help me to sort out this problem?
Waiting for reply

- You can have one Google Analytics account that will be home to all of your site's data (this will track both desktop and mobile domains). You can then filter the results to show the differences between the devices.
Or,
- You can have one account for your 'desktop' domain and another for your mobile domain. This will result in two sets of data and is what the first replies instructions will result in.
I use method 1 as I prefer to have all my data in one place. If you want to do this you need to go to:
-
Admin
-
Tracking code
-
Standard
-
Select 'One domain with multiple subdomains'
-
Paste the code into your site
You will then be able to track your visitors on the mobile site as well as other subdomains.
-
I am understand what do you want to explain?
Can you please elaborate it?
Waiting.

The above method will give you one set of data for your mobile subdomain and another for your desktop site. If you wish to have them together then you can set up a tracking code for the whole domain and then separate mobile visits from desktop visits within your analytics account. I personally have all my data in one account and use one tracking code.

Hello Mate,
I have idea about above mentioned process, is it going to help me to track data between desktop site and mobile site.
Please do let me know.
-
In Google Analytics, go to:
-
Admin
-
Tracking code
-
Advanced
-
Click 'A site built for a mobile phone'
-
Select the server side language - PHP, Perl, JSP or ASPX
-
Paste the code into the pages you want to track
-
Put the ga.pl file into the root directory
There are more instructions once you get to those pages which will help you out.
I hope this helps.

2 // custom variable scope - session-level

How to track what people type on my text boxes on Google Analytics?
Hi there! In our website, we have a few text boxes that users need to use to complete the goal. The boxes aren't search boxes, but it's still important to us to track what people type on it. I'm looking for a way to track the data through the "event" feature in Google Analytics, but it seems that this tracker can only calculate clicks, or video views etc. Does anyone knows how to track do it?
