Consolidating mulitple Google+ Local pages with one Google+ Page
-
Hello All,
I have trawled the internet, but can seem to find the answer to this question:
"How will Google integrate multiple Google+ Local pages with one Google+ Page?"
A bit of background to this. I work for a company that started online, but has since moved into retail stores. We currently have 14 stores around the UK. Now each of these stores has a Google+ Local page which were automatically converted over from the old style Google Places pages.
I have read that these pages should be integrated with our regular Google+ account. All of the examples I have read about seem to relate to offline businesses that have moved into online, rather than online business that have moved into physical retails stores. And these examples are just one store, one Googe+ Local listing & one Google+ business page. That seems simple enough... but what about multiple locations?!
Do I just need to sit on my hands and see what happens? Or are there things I can be doing now?
Cheers for any help!
Rich

Hi Rich,
Very good response from Jason. Additionally, I would recommend that you read this Google Help Forum thread. I think you'll find lots of good info in it:

Thanks Rich,
I'll make sure to do the same. Good luck!

Hi Jason,
No, it's good to know thanks. I have been trawling for info today and can find anything.
I guess it's a case of sitting on my hands 'til we know more. My 14 stores pales to your 200 though. I don't envy you.
Good luck with it though. If I find anything in the future I will try and remember to pop back here and reference it.
Cheers, Rich

Hello JBGlobalSEO,
I'm having the same issue. I run digital marketing for a company that has over 200 stores nationwide and now, apparently, over 200 Google+ pages.
From what I've been able to find out, each of these local Google+ pages are currently able to be managed through their associated Google Places accounts. Google has said that they are looking to include the functionality of being able to handle multiple locations through one Google+ account, but they haven't mentioned exactly how they are going to accomplish this yet and there's no expected timeline yet.
It's going to be extremely important however, since the new Google Places/Google + pages will be indexable. I'm already building a procedure for our local store leaders to regularly contribute content for their individual location while I manage it centrally and it's going to have to be updated on a regular basis.
I know this isn't much of an answer, but I wanted to confirm that so far there's little to no information out there on handling multiple locations through a single Gplus page, however Google has stated that they intend to provide that functionality "soon".
Thanks,
Jason

Is this business considered a SAB to Google?
Hi All, We have a client who designs and installs custom closets, garage systems, wall beds, home offices, etc. They have a showroom that displays all this for their potential customers to visit. I have hidden the address for this business but the client has an idea that, since they have this showroom that customers can go to, they should not be considered a SAB. My issue is with this part of Google's quality guidelines "If you don't conduct face-to-face business at your location, you must select "Yes, this business serves customers at their locations"" This client does occasionally conduct face-to-face business at the location BUT they serve the customers at their locations. Opinions and suggestions greatly appreciated!

Multiple Location Pages and Duplicate/Thin Content
I have a client who has 10 locations throughout Colorado. Each has it's own claimed Google Places profile. I know that Google is encouraging a unqiue page on your site for each individual office location, and then aligning each location's page with it's Google Places profile. Could this create a duplicate content or thin content issue though? Each location's page on the site would have essentially the same or similar content -- just with a unique address and phone number. They're a law firm, so the company information is the same across all locations, other than the address and phone number. We could re-write the content so it's not completely the same, but for 10 locations that gets a little crazy, and still doesn't create truly unique/original content. If we get too creative with the content on each page, it would be counterproductive because these are landing pages so i want them to have the firm's major selling points to help convert. Also, the firm is ranking very well in organic and blended/local search for Colorado terms and all individual locations EXCEPT Denver, the biggest and most important market by far. Trying to move from page 3 to page 1 in Denver is important enough to warrant making the necessary changes. I just don't want to damage all the progress we've already made. I look forward to your feedback! Thanks!

Does adding the city to your business name in a Places page help or harm Local SEO?
Hi, All! Another local SEO question... For one of our clients, the title on their Place page is <official business="" name=""><city>. Example: John's Sporting Goods Detroit. Now, most citations will say "John's Sporting Goods." Is having "Detroit" as part of the business name in Places problematic (NAP inconsistency) and we should remove it, or is it helpful for ranking for "sporting goods detroit" or is it neither?</city></official> Thanks! Aviva

Local search optimization for national product?
Hi all, My company sells a direct-to-consumer product nationwide. We have competitors that sell through local distributors. Therefore, many customers think that this is a product that must be bought locally. Because so many people search for this product locally, we want to be able to rank for local searches. But, because we sell nationwide, we don't have localized content. We have a competitor that created a page for each state which lists every zip code and city name in the state, but that seems pretty labor intensive (and not all that effective). Any ideas on how to address this problem would be much appreciated. Thanks!
