Canonical URL Issue

Hi Everyone,
I'm fairly new here and I've been browsing around for a good answer for an issue that is driving me nuts here.
I tried to put the canonical url for my website and on the first 5 or 6 pages I added the following script SEOMoz reported that there was a problem with it. I spoke to another friend and he said that it looks like it's right and there is nothing wrong but still I get the same error.
For the URL http://www.cacaniqueis.com.br/video-caca-niqueis.html I used the following:
<link rel="<a class="attribute-value">canonical</a>" href="http://www.cacaniqueis.com.br/video-caca-niqueis.html" />
Is there anything wrong with it?

The issue reported on SEOMoz is in fact just a NOTICE and not an ERROR so I'm ok but maybe perfectionism is driving me mad.
We don't normally do websites in plain html anymore but we wanted to try to see the results of that website and it's doing really well in terms of indexing the pages and being found but a nightmare to manage manually the pages and my guys are starting to ask for a dynamic version with a CMS to makes things easier when it comes to update pages.

The script you have added is perfectly fine. Also, there is no harm in adding the canonical especially if have added analytics tracking parameters on the links whether internal or external. This helps in ensuring that all links point to page without parameters.
I am assuming that SEOmoz must be giving NOTICE and not reporting it as an ERROR which is perfectly fine.

As far as I can tell, there does seem to be a few issues.
First, I'm not quite sure why you are specifying canonical urls. They are used to specify a preferred version of a set of similar pages. The pages you have put canonical links on do not have similar pages.
Second, your implementation of the canonical link is incorrect. You should put the link in the section of the non-canonical versions of the page. However, seeing as you do not seem to have similar pages, you should not be including the canonical link anyway.

Changing URLs
As of right now we are using yahoo small business, when creating a product you have to declare an id, when we created the site we were not aware that you will not be able to change the id but also the ID is being used as the URL. we have a couple thousand products in which we will need to update the URLs. What would the best way to be to fix this without losing much juice from our current pages. Also I was thinking that if we did them all in a couple weeks it would hurt us a lot, and the best course of action would be to do a slow roll out of the URL changes. Any help is appreciated. Some URLs in the sitemap not indexed
Our company site has hundreds of thousands of pages. Yet no matter how big or small the total page count, I have found that the "URLs Indexed" in GWMT has never matched "URLS in Sitemap". When we were small and now that we have a LOT more pages, there is always a discrepancy of ~10% or so missing from the index. It's difficult to know which pages are not indexed, but I have found some that I can verify are in the Sitemap.xml file but not at all in the index. When I go to GWMT I can "Fetch and Render" missing pages fine - it's not as though it's blocked or inaccessible. Any ideas on why this is? Is this type of discrepancy typical?

Caninical issue
Hello all, I have a problem related to "canonical issues" that I would like to get your view on: The issue: Our site: http://www.texaspoker.dk/ has a "canonical issue" with the home page. We added a redirect to www.texaspoker.dk, but this hasn't solved our problem. In the latest "too many on page links" analysis made with SEOmoz' exelent SEO tool, we get the following error: http://www.texaspoker.dk(101 on page links) http://www.texaspoker.dk/?page=2 (on page links) So, made simple, the analysis tells us that both http://www.texaspoker.dk and http://www.texaspoker.dk/?page=2 has too many on page links. 301 Redirect Issue
I'm having an issue with 301 redirects: Let's see if I can verbalize my thoughts on this one... So we just recently moved our site to Wordpress. One of our new 301 commands is redirecting oursite.com/news to oursite.com/blog . However there are other links from our previous site that look like oursite.com/news/XYZ and the issue is that, because wordpress structures its links differently, that URL is not equivalent to oursite.com/blog/XYZ. Instead, it might look something more like oursite.com/blog/yaddayadda/XYZ or something. Does that make sense? The issue is that when I find an old link of ours on google that looks something like "oursite.com/news/XYZ" or "oursite.com/news/ABC" it is automatically replacing "news" with "blog". When I try to go in manually and redirect anything that says "/news/XYZ" to "/blog/yaddayadda/XYZ" it still doesn't work. It still just replaces "news" with "blog." Wow I realize that might not make sense to anyone but if it does - please advise!! Thanks!!!!
