Website redesign: site going from .php to .html
-
A site I'm working on is being redesigned because the current platform does not allow for content to be changed easily. In the process, they are going from .php to .html. I am concerned about their losing link juice. Can a site work with the old content remaining .php and the new content being .html or should all pages stay .php?

You can use both php and html pages. An example would be shopping cart html site. All the cart pages would have to use some sort of php, asp, cfm etc for dynamic purposes. Another example would be quote forms. Many of our sites are html while our quote forms are php.
I think you would be fine to use both php and html. If you choose to go all html for ease of updates and maintenance purposes you can always 301 redirect php pages to new html pages.

There is a copy of our website that is ranking. How can I let Google know our website is the authentic site?
I just found another copy of my old website and have no way to take it down. Unfortunately, it's ranking so he didn't place it as a nofollow. (My boss hired someone to redevelop our website before I came on board and never finished the project). So, could this be hurting us? I tried to look to see if we were being penalized and couldn't find that we were. Also, ever since we migrated to a new domain name, our ranking is tumbling. I've redirected properly and tested to make sure they're resolving correctly and they are. I have no idea what is going on. We've virtually lost all ranking. Any help would be much appreciated.

Why Does This Site Rank Well?
I noticed recently that the website of a local church (http://www.lifepointfc.com/) has climbed toward the top of the SERPS, and I cannot figure out why. The on-site SEO seems mediocre, at best, and their domain authority is 15 while their homepage authority is just 19. Does anyone see how they are working their SEO magic?

Does this site have a duplicate content issue?
Google WMT is showing me only 2 short meta descriptions under "HTML Improvements" but I believe http://www.customgia.com may have a content duplication issue. Numerous keywords are used repeatedly across many product descriptions. To make matters worse, every product page has a "Design It!" button that sends the user to a flash-based jewelry designer in which they can edit the product's appearance. I'm not sure if these "designer pages" are adding unnecessary and potentially damaging duplicate content but it's certainly a possibility. There are many items on this site that are similar to one another but not the same. The product description tend to use the same phrases over and over again - words like crystal, Swarovski, beaded, design it, customize, change, pearl, glass beads, iridescent, pearl, drop earrings are used a lot. What I'm stuck on is whether or not I should be focusing on a content duplication issue as the primary SEO problem or if there is something bigger. Thank you for any assistance you can provide!

Understanding SEOMOZ and how to make improvements to my website
I want the same as everyone else the best position in Google. My campaign is set up as sub-domain. I am trying to get an understanding of what make the improvements to the following. What are the most important metrics and if I can work to improve them what makes those improvements. Currently I have a good position in Google for my most productive phrase but feel I need to make improvements to ensure I keep that position. I am adding regular unique content and looking for relavant quality links but it does not seem to be making much difference to the metrics below. Domain Authority 16 Domain MozRank 2.83 Domain MozTrust 0.86 External Followed Links 16 Total External Links 55 Total Links 668 Followed Linking Root Domains 8 Total Linking Root Domains 9 Linking C-Blocks 3 Subdomain MozRank 2.95 Subdomain MozTrust 1.73 External Followed Links 15 Total External Links 54 Total Links 667 Followed Linking Root Domains 8 Total Linking Root Domains 9 Which are the important metrics and can I improve my site to increase my Moz position therfore improving Google results

Moving a site as a folder of existing one
We have the following case: Site A with domain authority 65 and 2,750 linking root domains (139K total links) and Site B with domain authority 68 and 1,336 linking root domains (38K total links) There's a suggestion to move Site A as a folder of Site B so it becomes something like this: domainB.com/domainA using 301 redirects for the existing domain A. We'd like to better understand what such move will result in. I imagine at first Site A will drop in rankings, but after that will it be better for it to be under Site B domain? Also, moving all the pages a step behind in the URL path may slightly affect their rankings. What do you think? Would you move Site A or leave it as a separate domain? I understand there can't be an exact estimation what will happen, but I'll appreciate your thoughts.
