What are the best content writer sites?
-
Hi,
I'm doing some work on a new blog and wondered if anyone could recommend some low cost content writers?
I have only justed started researching this service, so any advice the SEOmoz community could give would be grately appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I use Textbroker for a number of reasons.
1. You can specify the quality level per article and pay accordingly. I wouldn't recommend going any lower than 4 stars though. I have mostly good experiences with 4 star writers, 4 star is actually quite affordable too.
2. If you don't like the article you can request it be re-written, by the same or a new writer.
3. They have US English as well as UK English writers, there's actually a .co.uk version of the site too.
4. You can create teams of writers, so if you have a large volume of requests, you can send the requests to writers you've worked with before and know what to expect from. You can also create teams for specific niches etc.

Hi Jody,
There was a recent thread on this that might help - http://www.seomoz.org/q/finding-good-content-writers
I've used Textbroker before, but there's a couple of others mentioned there.
Thanks,
Brad

Low cost usually means low quality so one needs to weigh the risk of hiring cheap labor for the content of your blog. The post-panda environment does not look kindly to low-quality content and Google has incorporated machine learning ensure that it could accurately predict what the humans would judge a low quality site.
You have to find writers that can provide value for your money. Finding a person with good writing skills that is willing to work with your budget can be a challenge.
When dealing with a site that sources writers, one needs to ask questions that would ensure that the writer would provide what you truly need. Make sure that both parties have a clear understanding of the job that needs to be done. One would need to communicate with a prospective writer to see if he or she will be a fit for your needs. Ask for sample articles so that one can judge if a writer's skill is adequate.
Hiring a free-lance writer would probably be cheaper but riskier. Hiring one that works for an outsourcing company can be pricier but there will be measures that would help to ensure quality for the content of your blog. An outsourcing company would usually have customer service that will resolve any complaints or misunderstandings between a client and a writer.

No prob ; ) I also like to use Odesk.com, you can find good writers there. Just be sure to check their test scores/testimonials/overall rankings. Also, make sure anything you buy is not duplicated or spun. I use copyscape.com and I also copy some random paragraph from within the post and google it : ) hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response Donnie and for your advice.
Ideally we don't want to be linking away from the site so happy to pay for content but wondered which were the best sites to source the writers from as there appears to be many out there.

Myblogguest.com is a good place to get some free content for your blog. However you will need to give credit the writer with a link to their site.
Keep in mind content is only 1/3rd the battle. Getting that content to the right people/social networks is what will help you gain more visibility.

Need suggestion to place longer content on products category page
Hi All, I wanted to place longer content on products category page, Currenty I am showing product listing first and then small description at the end of listing.I don't want to add longer content either bottom or top. I want to make two tabs at the top of each category pages like Products | Informtion In Product section (after clicking on it) I want to display all products listing & in Information tab (after clicking on it) 2-3 paragraphs of webpage content but I'm afraid If I will place the content in this way Google won't index content and my purpose of adding webpage content to target long tail keywords won't fulfill. Please suggest me if you have any better idea & let me know what I am going to do would be good or not in SEO perspective. Thanks

Should my client copy and paste his blog posts onto other professional sites?
I have a client who is an Attorney and participates in a couple of different Q and A legal sites. One of these legal sites is recommending to my client that he copy and paste his blog posts onto his profile page on the Q and A site. I understand my client wanting to copy and paste his blog posts onto these sites, as it will not only get his content in front of a larger audience, but also lend credibility. However, I've always heard that that could cause some duplicate content problems. Will my client's blog likely get penalized by google for copying and pasting his blog posts onto other relevant sites?

How Google judge about duplicate content?
With recent Search engines updates one thing is clear we cannot ignore content. Content marketing definitely going to be most important part of our SEO strategy. I have few doubts about content marketing (circulation of content over web) where I want suggestions of community members. There would be different thoughts so I would like to have as many as responses to know what majority thinks: When we are writing guest posts, does article needs to be unique with each and every blog we are writing or we can safely circulate one good piece of content to 10-15 blogs who are interested in our creative. We have written a good blog post for our own domain. Apart from social sharing should it be posted to other related blogs too or it should be unique to our domain only. Social sharing, mentions, like of blog matters in rankings?Seems yes they do but need to know what majority thinks. Finally what is the safe number to circulate your content over web.

URL structure on moving from old nukedit site to Drupal
I am currently rebuilding a site in Drupal. The old site was in Nukedit and all the urls end in .asp. Given the new urls will not end in .asp is there any point in matching the rest of the url or will using 301 redirects (to better seo'd pages) be sufficient to minimise any (temporary) ranking loss?

Blogger & Blogspot Content - Move Across To Own Domain?
Hey, A few new clients have blogs hosted on blogger & blogspot, the first advice of mine is to set up a blog hosted on their company domain. It's usually easy to convince them of the benefits. What should happen to all the content on the existing blog? One blog in question has over 100 entries, good content with a lot of links back to the business domain. The blog itself has less than 10 links pointing in but a domain mozrank 3.5. In this example, my gut is telling me to leave it as is, and start fresh on the own domain. What about if there's less then 10 posts? At what point should the content be moved over to the new blog? Thanks for your thoughts.

Blog content practices for e-commerce sites
What is the best practice in regards to content for e-commerce blogs on the same domain as the web-store (blog.storename.com)? What balance of content should be on the blog vs. the item & section pages or doesn't it matter?
