Spinning software advice / suggestions
-
I have 2 websites which sell exactly the same products and have the same product descriptions. Does anyone have any recommended spinning software solutions which I can use to get an alternate product description?
Thanks in advance.

I'm in agreement with the others. Don't even entertain the thought of using a spinning software to create content for your websites. Google and other search engines have become very good at detecting crap content and penalizing them. Content resulting from spinners are the worst quality, lowest junk crap and would never be good for the SEO of your site.
Your goal should be to do something real and useful. Using spinners to manipulate the search engines worked a decade ago but will only cause your rankings to drop in the present environment. It will also damage to your brand.

Do not consider the application of rotating software. Additionally SEOmoz congregation doesn't facilitate application of these leverages.
Recompose the articulation and that will facilitate goodness you more.

Yeah do not use spinners! They are bad news, I have seen websites get destroyed by them. Mechanical Turk through amazon would be cost effective, I could also recommend using writers from textbroker.com
If you want to keep costs low, find someone on forums.digitalpoint.com to go through and rewrite all the descriptions. Post an ad describing your work needed and ask for a example of work by re writing a sample piece from your websites.
The cost of getting quality content will be less than the article spinner most of the time. Unless you have hundreds and hundreds of pieces needed to be re written.
I know a spinner sounds like the best method, but it will not help you out at all! You want results for the future, it is important.

Consider using mechanical turk to crowd source writing new product descriptions if you have a lot of them.
I've never found any spinning software that works anywhere near well enough that I would want to show the results to customers and it can even hurt you with the search engines.

Do not use spinning software. Also SEOmoz community doesn't support use of these tools.
Rewrite the description and that will benefit you more.

Best practice for Wordpress /page/2/
I realize that it might be a minor point but it still bugs me. We have a blog with a number of posts. Content of the posts does not expire or age (in the rare case something changes, we do update the information in the posts). The wordpress blog is setup to display our latest posts and displays 15 posts at once. Since we have a lot of content, the older posts get pushed off the front page which is understandable and desirable behavior. However the pages that have older posts have names like "/page/2/", /page/3/, /page/4/ and so on. This does not look very SEO or user friendly to me. What do you think? Did you come up with something better then /page/ and then a number?

A good content calendar/organizer suggestion?
Does anyone have a good content calendar/organizer/software/etc to help plan delivering and pushing out content? I haven't ever used anything other than an actual calendar, and that doesn't seem to help all that much. Is there anything better out there? Any suggestions would be fantastic! Much appreciated, Ruben

Great content/news articles - but struggling to drive traffic from them
We publish 2-3 great quality news stories/posts on our sites weekly, but are struggling to gain traffic from external sources for them, other than our own blog and socials. We have followings for each of our sites, but want to expand and get our posts found in other relevant blogs, features, releases etc. The posts are 'Top 10 Tips...', 'How To... in 6 Easy Steps', 'What Makes a Great...' etc. All great things that people want to read about and share. All this of course helps towards the SEO of the sites, but the posts aren't written for that, they are written to guide and inform. My question is, how are other people getting their great content found online, talked about and shared? I personally think that our posts are awesome; containing useful information that will help people. Isn't that what it's all about?

Possible to recover from Thin/Duplicate content penalties?
Hi all, first post here so sorry if in wrong section. After a little advice, if I may, from more experienced SEOers than myself with regards to writing off domains or keeping them. To cut a long story short I do a lot of affiliate marketing, back in the day (until the past 6 months or so) you could just take a merchant's datafeed and with some SEO outrank them for individual products. However, since the Google Panda update this hasn't worked as well and now it's much hard to do - which is better for the end user. The issue I have is that I got lazy and tried to see if I could still get some datafeeds to rank with only duplicate content. The sites ranked very well at first but after a couple of weeks died massively. They went from 0 to 300 hits a day in a matter of 24 hours and back to 2 hits a day. The sites now not rank for anything which is obviously because they are duplicate content. The question I have is are these domains dead, can they be saved? Not talking about duplicate content but as a domain itself. I used about 10 domains to test things, they ranged from DA 35 to DA 45 - one of the tests being can a domain with reasonable DA rank for duplicate content. Seeing as the test didn't work I want to use the domains for proper sites with proper unique content, however so far although the new unique content is getting indexed it is suffering from the same ranking penalties the duplicate (and now deleted content) pages had. Is it worth trying to use these domains, will Google finally remove the penalty when they notice that the bad content is no longer on the site or are the domains very much dead? Many thanks

Is the Page Authority/Rank of my corporate site affected by my blog's PA/PR and vice versa?
If I host my blog on my corporate site (it is a wordpress blog) will the page authority and page rank of my site translate to the blog? And does this also go the other way around? My gut says this would make sense, and I think I have seen it in action with other corporate sites that host their wordpress blogs, but I want to be completely sure. Even better, if someone can explain to me how this works, that would be super helpful!

Is it possible to over create/post content?
My company has signed up with a vendor to help write content. They are going to be supplying 50 articles per month so we'd basically be adding 2 or more articles per day. Is that too much or is that okay as long as it's quality content?
