Keyword help for a beginner

Hello Everyone!
I have a few simple questions about picking/using the best keywords for my website. Just to give a little background on the company, we sell branded servers (IBM, HP, DELL) workstations, storage, and related hardware and software (memory, processors, hard drives, operating systems, management software, etc...) I'm trying to pick the keywords to use on the home page but have these questions:
1. This question is a little hard for me to explain, but we would like to show up in the search results whether a user types in: Dell server(s) or IBM server(s) or HP Workstation so for the title tag can we use: DELL, IBM, HP Servers, Workstations, Storage or we need to use DELL Servers, IBM Servers, Dell Workstations, IBM Workstations, etc... Basically what I'm asking is can we combine keywords in the title tag or we need to write them out (hope this make sense) if not let me know and I'll try provide a little more detail and few more examples.
2. This question might not fall under this category of topics and might have to start a new thread but here it goes. We are re-designing our site on a new eCommerce platform using x-cart shopping cart, its a very configurable and inexpensive shopping cart however one of the drawbacks is its speed. Most users of the x-cart shopping cart software report on average of 2-4 seconds page loads, which is kind of slow. even with some heavy optimization you get about 1.5 - 2.5 seconds page load. I've heard that if you want to be higher in Google's search results speed is a big plus, being in the 0.5 second range is a huge plus. I was thinking of creating a static html home page that would include some company info, content with relevant keywords, some links to main categories... (basically kind of copy the google.com page but with a little more text) Would that be a good idea to implement? Hope this question makes sense as well or stick with the default shopping cart home page and try to optimize it as best as possible?
3. We probably have about 10 - 15 short keyword phrases that we want to concentrate on, again they would be:
DELL Servers, HP Servers, IBM, Servers
DELL Workstations, HP Workstations, IBM Workstations,
DELL Memory, HP Memory, IBM Memory
DELL Hard Drives, HP Hard Drives, IBM Hard DrivesWhat is the maximum or recommended quantity of keyword phrases to try to include on the home page? Is it also recommended to maybe create a separate page for each keyword phrase? Does a home page get better ranking then another page on the server just because its a home page?
Hope my questions aren't too dumb and make sense. I appreciate everyone who takes their time to read through and answer my questions or guide me in the right path.
Thank you,

Hello Rufus,
Thanks for taking your time to help me out. However I'm still not 100$ clear on how I should proceed.
For question 1: Would it be ok to combine keywords/phrases in the title tag like this "IBM, DELL, HP. Servers, Workstations, Storage" (would the search engine use the best combination of any of the following or would it rate it differently if I were to use something like this:
"IBM Servers, DELL Servers, HP Servers, IBM Workstations, etc..." ?
For Question 2: Do you recommend to use a combination of CMS & Ecommerce for a single site, would that be of any benefit?
For Question 3: You recommend to create a seperate page for each keyword phrase and write some good content using the targeted keyword(s) and then have a link on the home page to that page, correct?
So for the homepage would you recommend using keywords that target our brand OR a few of the product keywords that we think would bring the most traffic in from search engines?
Just to confirm, the home page (index.html) wouldn't necessarily have a higher ranking vs let's say (dell-servers.html) just based on its hierarchy or being the home page. (obviously excluding the SEO work)?
Thanks again!

ok, so I'm going to break this down for you
1: yes you can use multiple keyword in titles etc but you'll get better results if you create more targeted pages on your site, what I'd do is create a group of articles talking about (for example) Dell servers make them useful to your users and link them together the way your users (and google) should find lots of useful targeted content that naturally has your keywords in and if you link to this articles fro your home page they should start to rank quite well, it would also be worth finding some guest blogging opportunities to link to these articles as well as that should help boost your ranking.
2: loading speed is pretty important but managing flat html pages can be a pain why not look at using a cms like WordPress to do this, its really flexible and can be modified to look how ever you like.
3: NO stop it, don't think of your content in that don't try to cram keywords into it that is very old school and won't help you with SEEPs instead spend a bit of time write a useful article about a topic, enfant write a bunch of them, you'll naturally be putting keywords in to the articles that way and you'll probably pick up so pretty good long tail keywords at the same time.
feel free to contact me if you want more help or advice
Cheers
Rufus

Trying to rank on top 3 in Google.co.uk for a moderate competitive keyword by having a .dk domain
Do you think I should switch my domain to a .com and use ccTLDs method for my other international domains ? The problem is that my .dk domain(norwell.dk) has a better SEO ranking that my .com domain (norwelloutdoorfitness.com) and also differs slightly in name. The primary keyword I want to rank is ' outdoor fitness' which is in the name of 'norwelloutdoorfitness.com', thus over the long-term providing better benefits. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Andrei

How many keywords is too many?
Since it seems it takes so long for Google to revisit a changed page, we sort of loose track of changes made trying to optimize a specific URL for a keyword. Any sense of how many times is the optimum number of times to use a single keyword on a single page? I'm referring to the total including Title, Description, Content, Alt=. The whole shooting match. I have seen our Google results improve after we have removed several iterations of a keyword Thank You

I can’t understand, please help?
Our old <acronym title="Search Engine Optimization">SEO</acronym> built a lot of bad links (web 2.0, article ect) and in April of 2012 we received the dreaded Google Webmaster Tools notice of detected unnatural links to XXXXXXXX After 4 requests and disavowing all of the links he created we have finally received Reconsideration request for xxxx Manual spam action revoked The only problem is that this feels more of a penalty than when the received the detected links email? Everything across the board as dropped, I know we added more and more links to the disavow but everything has been going up with the quality we have been putting out until today when we received the manual action revoked. Has anyone experienced this, I feel like I wish we were still under the penalty as the rankings have dived.

Non-performing keyword
We recently completely started over with our website. I didn't mind not ranking for these keywords for a while because through extensive TV commercials our branded keywords perform the best for us anyway. However, a month and a half later, all but one keyword is ranking in the top 3 pages on Google. We are using Joomla! CMS and I first suspected that it may be a problem, but all of my crawl results are good. I think Joomla sites look good and are really easy for clients to edit on their own. I would really like to keep offering Joomla sites, but if this is the cause, I may need to reconsider. I have a few links to the page and I do know that I need more, but I have pages and keywords with fewer backlinks and harder keywords that are ranking. I have been busy with clients and unable to spend a lot of time on MY site ( My grandma always told me, " The Shoemaker's kids go barefoot"). I'm wondering if anyone can take a peek and help me over this hump? It's probably something stupid, and the rest of my sites are performing on the 1st page for their keywords, so I must be doing something right 😉 . I'm just not sure what I'm not seeing. The page in question is http://wootencomputer.com/internet-marketing/web-design and keyword I'm going for is: web design greenville sc Thank you all so much in advance. Also, I should add that with our past sites, we've ranked very well with this keyword.

Competitor Rockets to #1 and I'm looking at keyword stuffing. Will Google catch up with it?
We have a competitor whose home page rocketed up to number one, page one, on our key search term after they did a website redesign. They even beat out the original retailer for that position, as they are resellers of the product (not affiliate sales, resale in the secondary market.) They are the first to knock the original seller out of the #1 position. In the past couple of years that I have been doing in-house SEO, they have never ranked on page one for the term. I ran their site through the SEOmoz page grader for the specific search term, loading their page that is ranking, and found that they grade a “B,” but have some alerts for keyword stuffing, (the search term is on the home page 30+ times,) and they have eleven tags on said page. Aside from the two things listed above, they have pretty good site architecture on this new site, and are pretty well branded, etc. Should I expect Google to catch the keyword stuffing and eleven tags, and possibly adjust their rank? Will their keyword stuffing come back to bite them?

Google News we were dropped and need help finding ot why
Hi i have a site called in2town lifestyle magazine http://www.in2town.co.uk/ and up until two months ago we were with google news and for a long time. But then all of a sudden we were dropped which left us with no confidence about our site and led us to make changes to the site, some good and some bad to try and find out what was wrong with our site and why we were dropped. We have now been concentrating on sorting the site out which has led in a drop in traffic due to not updating it as we should because we are more concerned in trying to make it a quality lifestyle magazine and get back in google as well as making it a good experience for our readers.. I would like your help and finding out what you feel is wrong with our site so we can then work on it and change it and try and find out what went wrong with google news. we have spent years on the site but now we have gone in the wrong direction because we were more worried about google news. If you can advise us on how we should change the site and sort the site out and make it into the professional site it was once more then that would be great.
