How much do you pay your copywriters?
-
Hey friends. How much do you pay your copywriters? Is it be piece? I'm looking to do three different price points:
- Paying for just the copywriting
- Coming up with ideas and the copywriting
- Copywriting and finding a source to publish said blog post
Thanks for your help!

You may want to check freelancer.com recently I got a bid of $250 from a reputed writing company for writing 25 articles with around 500 words each. This is the outsource rates. Its for sure that threads should be original and you may have to dig around a bit on your own to find what sells and what doesn't. If you want the posts SEO optimized then thats another ball game which I doubt these guys will be able to deliver for the price. Hope it helps!

I have an excellent copywriter. He is studying English at one of the UK's best universities. He does quite a lot for me in his spare time to earn extra £ for his university lifestyle. The work he carries out for me is outstanding and without trying to sound smug... He only charges me £6 an hour!
The beauty about him is that he researches the subject in great detail before writing the article and they always sound like they are written by a guru of that specific field.
I think once you have found a good one, you will stick with him for most of your copywriting work.
I would be willing to pass you his contact details should you wish but please don't pass this about - I dont want him to become too busy for me! haha!

I pay purely for copy at £150 for 1 4-500 word article. Obviously this is much less than what many charge.

Copywriting can cost anywhere from less than $10/hour if outsourced to Asian countries such as Malaysia, India or the Philippines, to $160/hour for a very capable, local (Australian) copywriter.
As you seem to have already worked out, the difference in payment tends to revolve around the work done to research, edit, optimise, and even test and revise the copy, in addition to "merely" writing it.
At the lower end, I would expect reasonablly well-written copy, but I would need to provide a detailed brief, usually with my own research, and I have to edit, and test the copy myself. Often, this work means I'd prefer to just write it myself anyway. But if I want a piece of truly great copy, written by someone who is a genuine professional, especially if it is a formal piece of work such as a whitepaper, I have no hesitation paying higher rates.

From a company perspective; would you recommend using a service like postloop to acquire additional blog comments through paying users.
I’m always hesitant when it comes to purchasing comments but it seems like a natural approach. Is this something that Google would take notice and/or frown upon? - Anything we should avoid? Any additional information would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Copywriting Services for Whitepaper Creation
Can anybody recommend a particular company or website where I might be able to find some help in creating a whitepaper for lead generation? We have a few subject identified, and we've written a handful of blog posts about these subjects already, so we have some content. We're just struggling with compiling it and formatting into an effective whitepaper format. I was hoping we might get some professional help with this first one.

How much weight does UGC really have in SEO
Hi Guys....One of my sites has a blog and the site does very well overall.....however managing the blogs comments (fighting spam...attacks...general monitoring and approval) is becoming to much trouble. The blog itself really gets fed from facebook and most of the blog comments are done here. I am thinking of removing the comment section on the blog and only responding to facebook comments.....I am concerned though how much weight the "user generated content" carries with regards to SEO...it has always been said that it does carry weight but what if i get traffic to these pages and links but remove the comments ability... just really wanted to hear some opinions on this and how much respect i should give UGC. thanks for your time

Pay Per Post?
I have a PR 4/5 (it varies) blog with around 20-25k uniques a month. I'm wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a half-decent place to hire blog writers? Basically I would want someone to crawl disability news (I can provide tons of it, it autoposts to my 'Drafts' section on wordpress right now.). So basically would just need someone to re-write it. I also see lots of places pay you to write reviews of their products on your blog. Is there any service which effectively take control of content on your blog? They can post whatever they want (as long as it's not spammy and it's relevant to my niche) sell those reviews, and in exchange rewrite disability news articles for me? Thanks

Finding a copywriter
Hi seomoz, This is not quite a SEO issue, but I have a feeling you may be able help. English is a second language to me and copywriting is not my favorite sport. So, I've decided to find a copywriter. But have no clue how to look for one. I have hired ton of programmers, designers, and other technical resources in the past. People that have concrete skills - programmer where I could say do X, Y & Z and I can check if X, Y & Z were done - are no problem for me to hire. It still takes a long time, but that's not an issue. I know I want the copywriter to write in certain style (style of seomoz.org, woot.com or doubleyourdating.com). How do you define writing like that? Can writing like that can be defined? And put into requirements? Do you need 'customer avatar' or 'marketing voice' document or something similar? How do I find a kick ass copywriter? Optimisticly hoping there is a better answer than just 'test bulkload of them'! Thank you,
