Quick question about country specific organic results
-
Do you think that if your website is from your home country. You will rank better for some keyword even when you dont have much page authority when compared to other websites having much higher page authorities from other countries.

and one more thing @peter do you think that having an active Q and A forum like this one on ur site helps in SEO
-
@peter yeah I have all reasons to believe ur point...because this is what is happening for me also... agree...thanks for replying

I work mostly for companies in Canada, for those targeting only the Canadian market (vs also US or globally) I've found webmaster tools setting for 'target users' to have the biggest most immediate effect on improving Canadian company search results from within Canada.
-
No offense but I dont think that having a country level domain will help me...more than that if the website is hosted in the same country and am getting more traffic from my own country I think I might get benefitted....neways... wat do you think?
-
In my opinion you still have to compete with them.. the only way i see you can out rank them is by having a country level domain like .co.in or similar!
-
I know it that other website is not from India by seeing their contact details
-
how do you know that other website is not from India.. its like they are not hosted from the Indian IP?
I think not in this case... but if you have a country specific domain then this is quite possible!
-
you dint get my point
-
Thanks @Moosa for replying. I will explain you...
If I have a website hosted in India and me and my target audience is also from India. I think I will be ranking better for a particular keyword than other websites for the same keyword which are having high PA/DA but not from India.
So things become very easy for me to rank #1 for some keyword when there is no website/competition from India.
I just wanted to confirm this thing here.
What do you think?
-
Your question is not clear to me, so you want to say that if you have an Italian based website so that you can rank better in some keywords (may be location based) against your competitors although your DA/PA is lower than the competitor…
In my experience yes! But if you have more websites from the same country then you have to compete!
-
Yes.

Question about the Playback Locations report in YouTube Analytics
We have several hundred YouTube videos. In the Playback Report section in YouTube analytics, I can see a list of sites where people have viewed our videos. Some of the sites listed are competitors. The report does not show the URL of the page where the video is embedded. Is there a way to find this information? I have already tried using Google to search for the URL, but I'm thinking this isn't going to search the source code and the video URL isn't going to appear on the page anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks!

Predicting Time For Results
Hi Mozzers. My company uses an SEO agency. They are building links from relevant sites but, since hiring them around 9 months ago our SERPs for our important search terms have remained pretty static (dropping slightly). I'm in charge of my company's marketing budget so need to make decisions about ROI when determining where best to invest my resources. It seems to me that it ought to be possible to predict (with a fair degree of accuracy) how long it's likely to take us to move up the SERPs based upon an analysis of our website, link profile and how it's changing over time vs those of our competitors. Unfortunately my SEO agency keeps dodging this question. Am I being unreasonable in expecting this? Is what I've described above even possible? If it is possible what are the factors you would consider when trying to make such a prediction? Thanks for your help David

Competitor research: No data / results displaying on Keyword tools, Aexa
Hi there! I'm trying to research a few competitors using various Keyword tools (SEM Rush, Compete, Keyword Spy -- even Alexa for high level insight). While the bulk of the competitors generate expected results through these tools (a smattering of their top organic and paid search keywords, some traffic estimations through Alexa), ONE of these competitors lists "No results" across all categories and all tools: http://www.bgstar.ca Despite this, we know that they invest heavily in search -- and my SEM Rush toolbar indicates that they have a Google PR of 5 (though I recognize that that should be taken with a grain of salt). So I'm stumped! Has anyone encountered this before? Is there something structural that they might be doing, that's blocking not only Google-based platforms, but Alexa too? Thanks for your help!

Why is razorservers.com the #1 result on Google for dedicated server hosting?
Why is razorservers.com the #1 result on Google for dedicated server hosting? The site also ranks well on Google for the keyword dedicated server. It outranks sites with a PageRank of 7 and 100k+ back-links. Thanks

Which top 10 organic results are my competitors?
Hi all, This is a question about whether the top 10 ORGANIC Google results for a broad match is your competition, or whether it's the top 10 for a phrase match, or an exact match. I'm a newbie here but not a newbie to the world of SEO. I hope to be able answer just as many questions as I ask 🙂 QUESTION: If a customer comes to me and says, "hey, who's my (organic) competition for wedding present?" and I want to use Google to get the top 10 organic results, do I use a broad, phrase, or exact match? It seems many people think an exact match is the way to go but I think they were more referring to Adwords results / competition. I'm not trying to determine search volume for Adwords or even the search volume for organic results... I'm only interested in the top 10 competitors in the organic results. No one types in "wedding present" (with inverted commas" when doing a search in Google, so surely to see who ranks organically for wedding present I'd want to simply type in wedding present (no inverted commas, aka broad match). I understand all the concepts about how Google results cary whether you're logged in, etc, etc so I don't want to get distracted by that. And I know there's a bunch of tools we can use like the SEOMoz Keyword Analysis Tool. But I just want to know specifically what people would use (broad, phrase or exact) to look at the top 10 organic competitors are when doing a manual search in Google.

solutions to the issue, and I have followed through with them trying to solve
this problem but the results are the same. Beginning in late April our SERP went down drastically. I
have checked and cleaned the website of any errors and issues that I can find with
no change in the results. I have submitted a request to Google to be
reconsidered and have been told now three times that we are not being manually

Keyword difficulty/research question
Wondering if I could get some opinions from the fellow moz users' I have a website which I which to rank for the term 'evening dress'.As you can imagine it is a pretty difficult term with a score of 62% (the term gets 301,000 broad matches and 27,000 exact matches a month). As much as I would like to target this term I feel that my domain is not strong enough (DA 39) to match the competition. Therefore, would a better strategy be to target long tail keywords which also contain the primary keyword, ie black evening dress evening dress hire cheap evening dress buy evening dress online please note that these were just examples, I haven't researched a comprehensive long tail list. Would targeting these long tail keywords mean that a) I should be able to rank for them faster and thus receive more traffic, sooner, and b) build up links to the page which I ultimately want to rank for evening dresses with numerous backlinks containing the keyword evening dress. The trade off with doing this is that I would need to seo one page for all the long tail keywords to gain the maximum benefit for the 'money' keyword. Does this sound like a sensible approach to both ranking for big money term and also getting traffic sooner rather than later? Thanks Carl

My site is ranked in the top 5 for my keywords, but howcome I'm low in an organic search results for my key words?
Are the other factors such as page rank, Alexa rating and mozRank used to determine where I will show up in search results, over Goggle's key word rank for my key words?
