Hi,
I would like to know what are the best practices in 2012 to index our website in less than 24 hours? (or less..)

Hi Probikeshop,
I think you'll find our section on sitemaps in the Beginner's Guide To SEO to be helpful:

Hi,
Thanks for all your answer, do you know a good tool to make easily and quickly a sitemap?

Hi Probikeshop, You've gotten some good responses here. I think you might like to watch this Whiteboard Friday from 2011 about fast indexing: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/whiteboard-friday-get-indexed-faster-with-richard-baxter Things haven't changed significantly since that was posted and it has some great tips. Make sure you've done a good job with your on-page SEO and that you've got a really crawlable structure, upload your site to Google Webmaster Tools, create a flurry of Social Media buzz about the launch of your new site, get a few good links as quickly off the bat as you can and then prepare for ongoing efforts. Noting your screen name - Probikeshop - if you've got a local business, it's time to get started with your Local SEM. Your website will get indexed...though possibly not in 24 hours...but it will be indexed quickly if you are making the right efforts to build well and promote actively.

It sounds old skool, but use the google submit site feature as well if it is new. We've seen some evidence that this might in fact be useful again.
My first port of call though would be WMT account & submit a sitemap.
-
1- Create Google & Bing Webmaster accounts
2- Submit Sitemaps
3- Share in Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, Reddit, Stumbleupon, etc
I'd also tell you to get some quality links but that usually takes longer than 24 hours

I'm not sure there is any technique that can guarantee a new website gets crawled and indexed withint 24 hours. However here are some tips that will certainly help.
1. Make sure you set up a webmaster account with each of the search engines. Within the dashboard of that webmaster account (I'm thinking of Google WMT here) you can have the crawler fetch the page, than ask that Google crawl that page (and all linked pages on it.) While you are there be sure you submitting a site map as well.
2. Also the various search engines allow you to summit your content. For example: http://www.google.com/submityourcontent/website-owner/
3. You could try to build some high quality links on another site that get crawled on a regular basis.
4. If there is good content on the site you could share it on social networks, twitter, fb, stumble upon, etc. Just make sure there is quality content there, otherwise your social network may not like you very much.
5. This is perhaps the best tip: Share the link on Google +. I've had pages indexed within minutes after sharing them on my Google + page. Here's a White Board Friday that Rand did that talks more about Google + http://www.seomoz.org/blog/why-every-marketer-now-needs-a-google-strategy
I hope these tips help you out.

There is no way to control how fast a site gets indexed.. However if you follow good on-page optimization and create/upload a sitemap to the search engines, it can help your site get indexed faster.

Google Not Indexing Submitted Images
Hi Guys! My question isn't too dissimilar to one asked a couple of years ago, regarding Google and image indexing, but having put my web address into a Google image search, I get a return of 15 images, so something isn't right. 5 months ago I submitted our 'new' site to Google webmaster. We have just moved it onto a Shopify platform. They (Shopify) are good at providing places to add titles and Alt tags and likewise we fill them in (so that box ticked!) However I have noticed over the last couple of months that despite 161 images being submitted, only 51 have been indexed. Furthermore and as I said earlier, when you put our site, site:http://www.hartnackandco.com into Google images, it only returns a total of 15 images. Any suggestions and help would be wonderful! Cheers Nick

How to stop google from indexing specific sections of a page?
I'm currently trying to find a way to stop googlebot from indexing specific areas of a page, long ago Yahoo search created this tag class=”robots-nocontent” and I'm trying to see if there is a similar manner for google or if they have adopted the same tag? Any help would be much appreciated.

Site being indexed by Google before it has launched
We are currently coming towards the end of a site migration, and are at the final stage of testing redirects etc. However, to our horror we've just discovered Google has started indexing the new site. Any ideas on how this could have happened? I have most recently asked for robots.txt to exclude anything with a certain parameter in URL. Is there a chance this, wrongly implemented, could have caused this?

Pages not Indexed after a successful Google Fetch
I am trying to understand why google isn't indexing key content on my site. www.BeyondTransition.com is indexed and new pages show up in a couple of hours. My key content is 6 pages of information for each of 3000 events (driven by mySQL on a wordpress platform). These pages are reached via a search page, but no direct navigation from the home page. When I link to an event page from an indexed page it doesn't show up in search results. When I use fetch on webmaster tools the fetch is successful but is then not indexed - or if it does appear in results it's directed to the internal search page e.g. http://www.beyondtransition.com/site/races/course/race110003/ has been fetched and submitted with links but when I search for BeyondTransition Ironman Cozumel I get these results.... So what have I done wrong and how do I go about fixing it? All thoughts and advice appreciated Thanks Denis

Why is Google only indexing 3 of 8 pages?
Hi everyone, I have a small 8 page website I launched about 6 months ago. For the life of me I can not figure out why google is only indexing 3 of the 8 pages. The pages are not duplicate content in any way. I have good internal linking structure. At this time I dont have many inbound links from others, that will come in time. Am I missing something here? Can someone give me a clue? Thanks Tim Site: www.jparizonaweddingvideos.com

Getting Google to index new pages
I have a site, called SiteB that has 200 pages of new, unique content. I made a table of contents (TOC) page on SiteB that points to about 50 pages of SiteB content. I would like to get SiteB's TOC page crawled and indexed by Google, as well as all the pages it points to. I submitted the TOC to Pingler 24 hours ago and from the logs I see the Googlebot visited the TOC page but it did not crawl any of the 50 pages that are linked to from the TOC. I do not have a robots.txt file on SiteB. There are no robot meta tags (nofollow, noindex). There are no 'rel=nofollow' attributes on the links. Why would Google crawl the TOC (when I Pinglered it) but not crawl any of the links on that page? One other fact, and I don't know if this matters, but SiteB lives on a subdomain and the URLs contain numbers, like this: http://subdomain.domain.com/category/34404 Yes, I know that the number part is suboptimal from an SEO point of view. I'm working on that, too. But first wanted to figure out why Google isn't crawling the TOC. The site is new and so hasn't been penalized by Google. Thanks for any ideas...
