Report not showing all links
-
I am trying to pull the back link report for the following URL
www.hotscripts.com/category/scripts/php/scripts-programs/image-galleries/
OSE shows a total of 589 back links. When i download the report all I get in excel is 207. Why?

What good is it to only see the first 25 links. Worthless Software

Hi There,
Unfortunately, due to the limitations for our API, we are only able to export the top 25 links from each linking root domain, including links from your internal domain. We do provide you the ability to look at those links within Open Site Explorer, but I'm afraid that the system doesn't have the capability of exporting more than 25 links from each domain at this time.
I apologize for the inconvenience that may cause.

Hello? help anyone?
-
No I actually want to see all the links external and internal in one CSV file. Are you say that simplistic report is not available? What is the purpose of displaying 589 then if we cant see them. Still confused???
-
Hi!
I just talked with the help team about this. There are a couple of things happening, and we're not the best on making everything clear.
First, the 589 total links are both internal and external links. You're probably only interested in external links if you're wanting backlinks, so you'll want to select links from only external. That gets you to 214 links.
If you hover over where it says 1-50 of 214 External Links, you'll see a message about us showing only 25 links from an individual domain. You can see a similar message on this screenshot at http://www.screencast.com/t/hal5LMxT.
So, you should actually be able to get nearly all of your links. We know this is a bit confusing, and we're working on messaging.

Same linking c-blocks trend as competitor
I noticed in our competitive link report that our number of linking c-blocks has risen and fallen in the exact same pattern as one of our competitors. Is there a reason why this would be happening?

Automated Reports
I just set up automated reports for the first time for my campaigns. They've just run and some are missing alot of data. For instance, one shows zero keywords. When there are in fact lots of keywords in the campaign. Another shows no changes in rankings, when there were changes in ranking. Is there a way to re-run the reports? I've set them up monthly and don't want to wait another month to see if they worked?

Does Google have a direct link with facebook and twitter?
Google monitor social media. What I'm wondering is do Google use the same tools we have on Facebook's API, Twitter's API etc to use in their SERPs Or do Facebook grant Google more detailed access to see who has liked links etc. I think it's quite an interesting point as surely I can push up my own count by repeatedly sharing my own links, which wouldn't be genuine. If Google had better access they could then determine what's been faked etc.

Can someone explain to me why OSE shows two different numbers for Linking Root Domains in the header and in the results area?
See Photo Below. 271 in the header, 500 plus in the results section. I just want an accurate number to chart my progress from here on out. Majestic numbers seem inflated too much. Google Webmaster Tools too. g58HX.png

Crawl Diagnostics Report
I'm a bit concerned about the results I'm getting from the Crawl Diagnostics Report. I've updated the site with canonical urls to remove duplicate content and when I check the site - it all displays the right values, but the report, which has just finished crawling is still showing a lot of pages as duplicate content. Simple example: http://www.domain.com http://www.domain.com/ Both of them are in the duplicate content section although both have canonical url set as: Does each crawl check the entire site from the beginning or just the pages it didn't have a chance to crawl the last time? This is just one of 333 duplicate content pages, which have canonical url pointing to the right page. Can someone please explain?

MozRank per Link: Valuable or Worthless?
Since the MozRank and MozTrust metrics are on a logarithmic scale, I'm wondering if it's still valuable to get a general idea of the quality of a site's link profile by calculating: MozRank / Total Links MozTrust / Total Links Would this be useful, or is it always going to be higher for sites with lower MozRank & MozTrust since it's "easier" to achieve the lower values?

Inbound Links Report Problem
While looking over my competitors inbound link report, they have a reported 5K inbound links. The first 20 listed inbound domains are things like UPS, and other sites that when I look at them, and the source file has no link to their domain at all??? So are they using some kind of Black Hat technique, or is SEOMoz not reporting properly? Help please.

Link Blocks
Sorry, perhaps a noob question. In relation to site explorer, have also searched and unable to find any information, wondered if anyone could advise as to what "Linking C Blocks" are? Found under the "Compare Link Metrics" tab. Thanks in advance. Lee
