Illegible font on infographics?
-
I noticed that some infographics have really small font.
I think that the intent is to make the font small so that people who see the infographic (on a blog that embeds it) have to squint and then are compelled to click on the image to be redirected to the owner's website. Often bloggers post the smaller size to fit on their blog.
Do you think this is a good practice and is aiming for the image link better/worse than a just a text link e.g. Infographic courtesy of Acme Co.
Thanks!

Project#Labs,
I think there may actually be a couple of things at play here. One is that depending on the resolution of the screen you are viewing the image in, it may be very small. I use a high res screen on Mac and really have to squint often (and I wear glasses). As to could they be trying to get clicks, yes. As to image link versus text link, well I like infographics and we use them. But, according to Matt Cutts, Google has talked of devaluing them as they believe the intent was not always to provide a link back, etc. (I am paraphrasing grossly).
Good question.

Infographic embed code: Yah or Nah?
Friends, am ready to launch an infographic campaign for a client and received an email from a resource I consider very reliable that said, "don't include an embed code on the webpage that is hosting the graphic. That's being seen as bad practice by Google these days." I responded with, "Say what?" Can anyone confirm or deny that affixing embed code to an "infographic page" is indeed vile? Thanks!

Why does my infographic rank better on other websites than my own?
I recently created an infographic that was quite popular in my niche and a lot of people linked to it and embedded it on their own sites. Now, if you search the term I was trying to rank for, everybody who linked to me ranks higher than the page that everyone is linking to and it's the page where the original graphic was posted. According to SEOmoz, I have the highest Domain and Page Authority than everyone else in front of me. How the hell is this possible? If you want to see for yourself, just type in "hot tub yoga" into Google and I'm on the second page, http://www.swimuniversity.com/blog/hot-tub-yoga-infographic I would love some help on this and I thank you all in advance.
