Is this a good website design for attracting google and readers
-
hi, we are looking at re-doing our website and would like to know if this site is a good example of attracting traffic and google. what i mean is, they only have the title of stories and not much content, please take a look and let me know if we can learn any lessons from this site or if they should be adding more content
-
so if u had a news site would u go the way the sun does by having an introduction with a picture or would u reduce the pictures and go with headline titles instead

I think some of the same still applies - it depends on how competitive your keywords and industry are, how frequently you update your content, blogs, etc. Also, the main page has a lot of links which isn't unusual for many website. If you click through, the pages have deeper content.
For my industry I wouldn't do this set up as my terms are more competitive and subject matter is very different. But my site is very product/sales specific, not news-like or gossip like the one you mentioned. Google has very different expectations for those types of sites. If you have a newsy site then I could see the appeal but if you don't then I wouldn't recommend it.

will be having a long read of your link thank you

sorry i did not make myself clear, what i mean is, content is king and google will come back to your site if you have new content, so what i am trying to say is, if you have a site where you are only showing the titles showing, then surely this is not enough content for google to see changes.
I like the way it is set out as i always read this site but on a technical side i am just wondering if it works in googles favour or not in terms of seo

Nice to meet you, too! Yes, amazing timing for Rand to share this resource
-
Great answer Andrea! Diane, Rand talked about exactly this concept during his Mozcation presentation Wednesday (nice meeting you there Andrea). What works for one site may not work for another. Use this as a resource to get some ideas as to what to test, but then test and see if it works for you.

You know, it's hard to say because it could be apples to oranges of what your site is about and what that site you shared the link to is about. You have to design for your audience and fashion/manufacturing/educational/travel, etc. all have totally different sets of user expectations.
Rather than compare yourself to one site to mimic it, it may be worth looking at UX data and CRO tips and other factors to help determine what to do: http://unbounce.com/conversion-rate-optimization/544-conversion-rate-optimization-tips/

Should corporate blog sit outside a corporate website?
Hi guys (& gals) We are in the midst of revamping our own agency website and i used to have blog site that talks about agency's thoughts and elaboration on process etc. I personally feel it could be better to consolidate these content into my agency's url since it will create better relevances and thus improve my DA. Appreciate if i have some feedback if my thoughts are on the right track with the community? J

What Is The Best Way To Attract Guest Bloggers
Hi, i am trying to find a way to attract guest bloggers for my site. We are looking for people to be a guest blogger on items such as gadgets, business, finance, marketing and so on, but i am not sure what is the best way to attract people. Any advice on the best way to attract guest bloggers would be great and advice if we should give them more than one link. Would love to hear from people who have been a guest blogger to find out what they would want. It has been suggested to me that a guest blogger gets one link and if they require two then they must link bac. looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Benefits put my blog inside website or outside the website
Hi everyone, I wonder if you can provide some information regarding inside or outside blogs benefits. One of us thinks that the blog should be within our website URL. And the other one thinks that it should be a separate url. I believe an outside blog will provide SEO benefits but we hope that you will provide us your thoughts on this issue? Thanks for all of your help. Antonio

Blog and Website = 2 different URL's - Is it WORTH to merge content on to one site
Good day Mozzers! A friend of mine recently asked for my help in regards to online marketing. While getting familiar with his online presence, I realized that he has a blog hosted under a completely different URL Main Site = http://pardons.org/ (page rank 4)

Blog = http://pardons.wordpress.com/ (page rank 3) What I am battling with is whether or not he should take all of the blog content he has, and merge it on to his main site. It has over 280+ blog posts spanning over a few years, so there is A LOT of content that could benefit his main site. However is it worth it, or should he continue to run everything as 2 different sites? Also, of you suggest moving the content over, what would be the best way to do it in your opinion? He currently has links on his blog TO his main site, so there is a little bit of link juice there, but with a average of 300 views a day, he only get about 10 clicks to his main site from the blog. Thanks a ton for your help!0
