How to articles for FAQ, but wait it's shoes or clothing
-
Hello,
I was given the great advice of sticking with 5 long, stellar, graphically well developed articles in the article section of an ecommerce site.
And to put lots of how-tos articles (links to them) in the FAQ.
But what articles do you put in the FAQ if you're selling things like shoes or clothing?
Thanks.

Thanks EGOL, that now makes sense.
So all the customer service phone calls and what the client always has to explain to the customer
Closing this question soon.

Why are you asking SEOs?
Go ask someone who sells shoes and clothing what the typical buyer does not understand. They should be able to rant and preach for days.
-
Here are some ideas:
- write about the current fashion style (based on the current season)
- write about fashion shows (if relevant)
- bizarre clothing (always fun to read)
- or if a certain date/event is coming up, best dress/shoes for Christmas etc.
- the latest items that have arrived in-store
- interviews with fashion designers/advisers (although might be difficult)
Would suggest looking out there to see what the others are doing as well.

Are Duplicate Bio's Duplicate Content?
I'm wondering if I need to go through all the various bio's our firm has on all the various legal directory and client review sites to make sure they have unique bio's? I really, really don't want to do that, but if they are going to flagged as duplicate content, I will. I'm hoping sites like "findlaw," "avvo," etc, have some built in rel:cannonical or something that says these bio's aren't to be seen as unique content and therefore conflict with what's on our site. Anybody know? Just to clarify, any of the sties that have asked for unique content/bio/about us, I have complied with that. However, a lot don't specifically state it has to be unique, so I've just copy and pasted from our site in those cases. Thanks, Ruben

Content: Best Blogs Article
Hello, For an Ecommerce site, I think a good way to get known is to write a "Best X Blogs" article, where X is a topic in your industry, and then letting the people you link to know about the article. I got the idea from a Mozinar. My question is, how close does the X from above have to be in your niche? For example, if your product is running shoes can you write a "best athlete blogs" article? I'm worried about them reading the article, then leaving. In some smaller niches the topics closest to the product don't have much in the way of blogs out there. So how close to your niche does the Best X Blogs topic have to be?

How to Get Rid of Duplicate Content Captured on Article Lists
We have a ton of articles and blog posts on our site. Currently, we display summary lists of articles that contain the first paragraph of the article in the summary list. However, in my reports, this is coming back as duplicate content with the full article itself. How do I fix this? Ex: article main page- http://www.robots.com/articles/10 First article on that page- http://www.robots.com/articles/viewing/grippers-for-robots (which shows up as duplicate content with the main artilce page). With our blogs, we have the most recent 5 blogs (in the same summary format) listed on our main blog page. We then have categories that people can sort by. But again, this is causing us duplicate content because those pages show the first paragraph of the blogs related to that category. Ex: blog main page- http://www.robots.com/blog. First blog listed on that page- http://www.robots.com/blog/viewing/robots-and-automation-bringing-jobs-back-to-the-united-states (which then shows as duplicate content with the main blog page). And then you can also select categories to see related topics: http://www.robots.com/blog/category/buying-a-robot which is showing as duplicate content also. Help! How can I prevent this? Thanks! Potential effects of PLR articles
I'm sitting on several hundred PLR articles that, with a bit of editing, would fit well into on of my sites. This site otherwise produces new unique content every week, including videos, news and articles. These PLR articles are very popular, copyscape shows at least 30 other sites are using some or all of the pieces, but the articles themselves are the sort of information pieces that don't really get old or change over time. Never having gone for the direct use of PLR articles (have spun quite a few unique pieces in my time though), I'm wondering if there could be a negative effect to using them? We're not in Google News or anything so don't have to worry about that, just wondering if it would diminish the effect of my unique pieces at all?

Different pages with very similar H1's - will I get a penalty?
I currently have text articles about various topics on my site - for this example say I have written about "Negative Reinforcement". This article is live over a month now and getting listed on the first google page with an added keyword which the article is specifically related to. Now I want to create an infographic related to the same topic "Negative Reinforcement" - but I want to call the page this infographic will go on "Negative Reinforcement Infographic" while the article is currently called just "Negative Reinforcement". Neither page will have duplicate content from each other. The article is 2,000+ words so I don't want to throw more into it by adding on the infographic and I want to specifically create the infographic as linkbait and on a stand alone page. I am curious if adding another page with such a similar title and H1 have any negative effect ("dilute" the strength of the other article), for example will google take having two different pages with such a similar heading as potential keyword stuffing and penalise the site?
