Blog and keyword advice
-
Hi, i am going to add a blog to my site to encourage more visitors as well as encourage google to visit the site more often but i am concerned on a couple of things.
The blogs will be on weight loss hypnotherapy, anger management therapy and also gastric band hypnotherapy and i am concerned that by writing a number of articles on this topic that by using the keywords it will lower my rankings for the following keywords, gastric band hypnotherapy, anger management therapy, weight loss hypnotherapy.
To help you understand more, i have three sections which are gastric band hypnotherapy, anger management therapy, weight loss hypnotherapy, which rank well with google and i am worried that if i write about these subjects in my blog that it will reduce my rankings.
Should i reduce the number of times i use the word gastric band hypnotherapy in my new blog articles and say only say the word once or twice so google does not thing that is my main page on the subject.
any help would be great.

Thanks for this, will start adding the articles on the blogs

I will be writing the articles naturally but worried that the article could reduce my rankings for the main page. For example, i have written an article on gastric band hypnotherapy and the word gastric band hypnotherapy appears five times in the article, so this has worried me, if i put it online on my site will it take google away from the important page on my site all about gastric band hypnotherapy and move me down the rankings because i have another page talking about gastric band hypnotherapy and news about gastric band hypnosis

Hi Diane,
As far as your content is awesome it will not going hurt you. Write blogpost and inter link to your targeted landing page, it will improve website navigation as well as ranking.
-
Be sure to include your target keywords in important places: page title, headings, file names (such as images), strong text and paragraph text. I would also do some research into what related terms you should have in posts that Google may use to categorize your posts. Please see this post for details.
-
I don't think you should focus on the number of times you use any particular keyword.
Instead, write naturally for your audience.

Blog or article length and SEO value
Why do different blog lengths affect SEO differently? Is it directly affected by Rankbrain or the Google Algorithm, or is it more because of user engagement?

Advice on how to handle Guest Blogging between multiple brands
How to you manage your guest blogging efforts between companies. I blog for 4 different companies, and just started….I am confused if I should blog as myself, or should each company have an "author" set up, and then guest blog under each author? I want their website to get better rankings, and the brand to get more engagement. I am not concerned about myself and my authorship rating….but should I be? Would that be more beneficial to have all blogs tied to me, to help with engagement. Or am I shooting myself in the foot by not increasing my authorship. What's more important? Authorship or blogging about the relevant content from the author that makes the most sense? Just looking for tips from anyone that has to blog under different brands. How do you do it?!?! (also, looking into myguestblog plugin)

Should we be using a blog for news
Our domain has/had a blog on a seperate subdomain. However we were a little slack in always keeping this up to date when we are particularly busy. Rather than reinstating the blog, I have been adding all our new articles directly onto the website rather than as blog posts. Is there any advantage from an SEO perspective to posting articles to a blog rather than as content on a site?

Duplicate Text on Blog & Internal News Page
I have two places I post news for our company. Our blog - typically more informal posts

mycompany.wordpress.com & Our news page - typically more newsworthy than the blog
mycompany.com/news My question is, It is okay to just copy the exact text from my wordpress blog and paste to my news area of my site and vice versa? Does this hurt ranking potential for either page?0 -
Duplicate Page Content WordPress blog with categories?
Just got a crawl report back from SEOmoz and it gives me lots of errors for "duplicate page content". Upon investigating, I notice this is because my WP blog is setup into categories so the home page is almost identical to one of the category pages. None of my actually posts are the same but the category pages have some overlap since the same post could show up in two or more categories. Is this a problem or can I just ignore this error? Any thing I should be doing differently? Thanks!

Can you use creative commons non-commercial images on a company blog?
Does anyone know if it is okay to use creative commons images on your company blog if they are under the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.0 Generic license. Technically you are using it on a commercial site, but you are not directly making money from the image or selling it.

Using own domain for Google blog
Is it worth the effort using your own domain for a Google blog? After adding my own domain to a blog I see a boost in ranking, maybe the url has more value without the blogspot extension, or that Google might treat the (max.10) pages you produce under your own domain as "independent" thus giving you the chance of building your own domain trust...?
