Help with HitTail
-
Does anyone else use HitTail?
I am using it for a free trial at the moment. The idea was to get some keyword suggestions and write blog posts on these topics.
My problem is that I am ranking on the top page sometimes spot 2 or 3 for the keyword terms that are being suggested, so what's the point? I don't see the point in writing for google searches in other countries so I delete them as it isn't an international business?
Am I getting the most out of this or just missing the point?

Hi Rob,
Thanks for your reply. I did think it was odd for terms to be suggested that I was ranking so high for. I will send an email if I come across it again.
Cheers!

You can get keyword data from Analytics, but not the suggestions. That's the core benefit of HitTail.
-
Don't forget: has an algorithm that cuts through the noise, filters through your keywords, and suggests only those that you have a high likelihood of ranking for.
So instead of having a keyword list of 500, you might receive 20 or 30 suggestions from HitTail, and those suggestions are your low-hanging fruit. The keywords where you'll get the most bang for your buck right away.

Hi Shaun,
I'm Rob, the owner of HitTail. Let me address your questions:

You should not be receiving suggestions for keywords that you already rank that high for. Are you using an incognito window to check your rankings? If not, Google's personalization is likely to boost your website much higher than other people see it. Try again with an incognito window and if this is still happening please email us at [email protected] and we will take an in-depth look at your keywords.
Because you are correct - if we suggested terms that you already ranked that high for there wouldn't be much of a point to it

Has anyone else got any experience using HitTail?
I like the tool but I'm struggling to justify paying for it.
-
Long tail ones arn't really helpful for me as well. like you said.
the thing is we can get all this data from google analytics and webmasters if checked thoroughly.. so yeah this tool isn't really helpful
-
Yeah I feel the same.
The long tail keywords was where I wasn't getting anything significant. Unless you mean literally 'long' and wait for some that are maybe 5/6 words long.
-
Well yes its not as good as i thought at first.
what it is good for is :
- Long tail keywords ideas!
- shows realtime search keywords
- sends a report of total keywords in email with which users reached the site
That's all what i gathered so far :}

Lost almost all organic traffic. Need some help.
Hi Mozers. I blog about our son with Down syndrome (https://noahsdad.com) and you may remember me from this case study here on Moz. https://mza.bundledseo.com/blog/seventeen-ways-to-improve-your-blog-case-study I was getting close to 100,000k a month in organic traffic to our blog, then it slowly started to decline to the point where I am not only getting 3k in organic traffic a month. So basically I lost all of my traffic. I honestly have no idea what is going on or why this happened. I know everyone is busy but would anyone be up for taking a peak into my GA and search console and seeing if you can figure out what may have changed and why my traffic dropped off so much. Our website helps a lot of people so you'd be doing some good and it may even be a good case study post! Thanks so much!

Help getting a Wordpress.com site to rank
Hi all, I have a blog for my site, but it hasn't been integrated into our site yet (that will happen in the next few months when we do some site changes). For now, it sits on a Wordpress.com site, and links from my website. I post a couple times a week, have social media linked to it, and feed posts to aggregators regularly. I also comment and like other Wordpress.com sites, but it just isn't ranking. Do I just need to stay persistent? It's been up for a month now, but still only getting a few hits a day. Any advice?

Where can I install a blog (not on the domain I'm optimising) which will help my search rankings?
I've got my hands tied, and I cannot install a blog like Wordpress on the domain I'm optimising. My question is, where then, would the next best place be? I've heard stories about subdomains being completely useless for affecting SEO of the root domain, and so anything external would probably have the same effect, correct? Would love to hear what some of you do in these situations. Cheers!

Linkbait help please!
The problem we find as a small printing company (www.discountbannerprinting.co.uk) even though we are in a decent field for ideas (design, printing, business advertising) we are really struggling with types of resource / link bait content to create which is either not out there already or would create a decent buzz (ideas we have bounced around such as exhibition guides sound ok but they have been done to death such as independent sites). Any help would be really appreciated.

Will a comment section on my site help with seo
I have never been a fan of comment pages such as the sun http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/4783642/bruce-willis-appears-on-the-one-show-in-awkward-interview.html but i was told the other day that not only is it good for the reader but it is also good for seo and increase the number of times that google would visit the page and i would like to know if that is true. if you have added a comment section to your articles i would like to know if you have noticed any change.

Does a Google Map on the contact page help with SEO?
In regards to ranking organically for local search results (not google places), I'm wondering if there is any benefit to having a Google Map on my Contact page with our location pinned? If so, how important do you think it is?

Does a directory running on a subdomain help or hurt SEO on the main site?
I have a blog, with a directory on the subdomain: directory.fbforbusinessmarketing.com. Is that smart for SEO, as it gives the overall domain more traffic? Or bad for SEO because of the different topics and all those outbound links? I'd appreciate opinions. Thanks.
