Duplicate page title - blogs

Hope someone can help me, I am a total SEO noivce so please be gentle.
My first report shows that I have duplicate page titles. I have been through and changed all of these so they are different and after my latest crawl they are still showing as duplicates.
I am wondering if this is because it;s a blog, here is one of the duplicates:

Hi Emma,
I believe something might be wrong with the Tool. Although you said you've done so but it doesn't seem to be working. All the title tags for the blog are still the same. Might you be able to switch to use a new tool or contact the webmaster or person that created the website?

I am having the exact same issue as you + I'm a newbee also. Did you have any luck on this?
I thought that it was because I had the title as the same as h1 text - but apparently this makes no difference.
So pulling my hair out on this one.
I popped over to Google's Webmaster + checked out HTML Improvements + got this: We didn't detect any content issues with your site. As we crawl your site, we check it to detect any potential issues with content on your pages, including duplicate, missing, or problematic title tags or meta descriptions.
But yet the SEOMOZ is telling me that I have a heap of these duplicate page titles... pls let me know if you're worked this one out - I'll be so very grateful!

The software alows me to change the 'title tag' which I have done so all blog posts are different but this does not seem to alter the 'title?!
One for the developers I think...

Hi Emma, I visited the link you provided and I think noticed the duplicate title tag. When I clicked on the link you provided, the title tag for that pge is "Handmade Soap Blog | Cottage Soap Company" and then I click on the page 5 (different article), it has the same title tag. Then I clicked on page 8 (different article), it also have the same title tag. So I believe those are the duplicate the reports are showing. Furthermore, to deeper research on this, you can visit your Webmaster Tools and check out the Optimization tab >>> HTML Improvements and it should show all your duplicate pages. You can click on the link and see which page it is. Hope this helps!

Have you drilled down to see which ones they are claiming are duplicated? I'm guessing that it probably is blog articles that you've written.
As you've got a create.net site, it's pretty difficult to control (if not impossible) because you'll never get within an inch of any of the code to be able to effect any necessary changes.
I'm not exactly sure why, but I believe it's to do with the pagination and the page being crawled when its on a different page - maybe someone else can offer an explanation on that.
If you go onto the create.net forums one of their own tech's might be able to provide a better answer.
The problem you get is that the content also gets duplicated, not just the page titles.
My only advice is to see what Create can do about it and if you aren't getting anywhere, consider moving to a wordpress site and getting your own website. It's probably cheaper in the long run as I know that create is about a tenner a month. The more control you have over your site, the better it will be for your SEO.
Lots of create sites do rank very well though when well optimised, so it's not all bad.

Is the URL Matching the Page Title Important?
Hello I have tried searching for an answer on this but I can't get a clear answer due to the results when searching for URL title. I have just launched our second Shopify site for one of our brands. My first site launched in 2014 but when I launched I didn't pay much heed to SEO for page titles, URLs, etc so have retrospectively fixed this over time. For my Shopify site just launching I want to get it as right as possible from the start (learning from mistakes). My question is regarding URLs and what my approach should be for better SEO. So, I have a page with a Title of Newton Leather Wallets, Purses, Card Holders & Glasses Cases and the URL is https://www.tumbleandhide.com/collections/newton-leather-wallets-card-holders It was my understanding that I should try and make the URL reflect the Page Title more accurately. The problem is that this takes the character count to 77. On other pages it can be in the 80s. Will the above link be better for SEO than say just https://www.tumbleandhide.com/collections/newton I am just wary of the URL's being too long as my Moz Site Crawl is returning a lot of URLs that are too long. Hi - How do you get rid of duplicate content that was accidentally created on a tag url? For example, when I published a new article, the content was duplicated on: /posts/tag/lead-generation/
the original article was created with: /posts/shippers-looking-for-freight-brokers/ How can I fix this so a new URL is not created every time I add a tag to a new posting?

Pages with near duplicate content
Hi Mozzers, I need your opinion on the following. Imagine that we have a product X (brand Sony for example), so if we sell parts for different models of items of this product X, we then have numerous product pages with model number. Sony camera parts for Sony Camera XYZ parts for Sony Camera XY etc. So the thing is that these pages are very very similar, like 90% duplicate and they do duplicate pages for Panasonic, Canon let's say with small tweaks in content. I know that those are duplicates and I would experiment removing a category for one brand only (least seached for), but at the same time I cannot remove for the rest as they convert a lot, being close to the search query of the customer (customer looks for parts for Sony XYZ, lands on the page and buys, insteading of staying on a page for Sony parts where should additionally browse for model number). What would you advise to make as unique as possible these pages, I am thinking about: change page titles. meta descriptions tweak the content as much as I can (very difficult, there is nothing fancy or different in those :(() i will start with top top pages that really drive traffic first and see how it goes. I will remove least visited pages and prominently put the model number in Sony parts page to see how it goes in terms of organic and most importantly conversions Any other ideas? I am really concerned about dupes and a penalty, but I try to think of solutions in order not to kill conversions at this point. Have a lovely Monday

Duplicate meta and title in Google Webmaster Tools not updated?
Our canonical tags were removed by mistake for some time and our duplicate meta and title warnings in Google webmaster tools html improvements went up. We fixed the issue a week ago. I made sure the sitemap is picking up the canonical URL. Still the number went up after we fixed it (from around 5000 to around 7000 now) but when I click on details, it shows around 2000 in detail page. How long does it take for Google to update this? RB

Moz showing 384 description duplicates on my ecommerce store.... when I download CSV, most pages are coming from my WordPress Blog, why?
Hi, I am trying to investigate why I am getting 384 description duplicates on my ecommerce store (www.doggie-diva.com)? When I download the CSV file from MOZ, the majority of the pages they refer to are pages from my Word Press blog, which is hosted on a different server (blog.doggie-diva.com). I do have a link from my website to my Word Press blog and vice versa. Can you please explain to me why this is happening when I don't have duplicate content? Meta Title in Google does not match the HTML meta title I have coded in a site
I have a client site that is pulling a meta title that is not in his code. I am using Yoast for the titles and descriptions on this site. Not 100% sure why Google is not listing the title we have in place. Could the code be pulling from somewhere else? Is there a fix for this?

Hi there, We keep getting duplicate page content issues. However, its not actually the same page.

E.G - There might be 5 pages in say a Media Release section of the website. And each URL says page 1, 2 etc etc. However, its still coming up as duplicate. How can this be fixed so Moz knows its actually different content?0 -
How Should I Fix Duplicate Content in Wordpress Pages
In GWMT i see google found 41 duplicate content in my wordpress blog. I am using Yoast SEO plugin to avoid those type of duplicates but still the problem was stick.. You can check the screenshot here - http://prntscr.com/dxfjq Please help..
