Google Reconsideration Response Time
-
Hi all,
3 of my websites have received a massive hit from Penguin/Panda due to exact phrase links.
I have had all the links changed so that they are completely different, and submitted a reconsideration request to Google.
Would anyone be able to tell me roughly how long it takes to get a response from a Google reconsideration request?
Thanks,
Anthony

If you've been affected by Penguin or Panda then unfortunately a reconsideration request won't help. Penguin and Panda are algorithmic changes and you can only recover once the algorithms refresh.
Reconsideration requests are to be used when you have a manual warning in your webmaster tools. If you don't have a manual warning, then you will get a message back saying that there have been no manual actions taken against your site.
I have found that it usually takes about 3 weeks to get a reply from a reconsideration request. Lately I've had some replies within just a few days. When the disavow tool first came out it was taking up to 2 months to get a reply because so many people were using it and sending in reconsideration requests.

The man himself says it shouldn't take longer than a couple of weeks.
I've found this to be largely accurate - I think the longest I've waited for was 17 days (but hey, who's counting?!)
Hope this helps.

Pitching your products to a niche... how to be in the right place at the right time?
Hi guys. We make custom diary products which can start/ end anytime, and so we feel they would go down really well in 'Back to School' type posts this year. (Website here) I've been looking for examples of 'Back to School' content, but with it being retrospective there is no guarantee a publisher would do a similar thing again this year. My question is this: What are the best ways to find our about upcoming** content** that relates to a specific niche? (In this case Academic year Planner products) What tools, research methodologies, platforms, websites would be useful? In other words, how do we 'get in the right place at the right time'... in front of people 'warm' to the idea in the first place? I appreciate this is a very broad question (albeit a in a very specific context)... but any insight/ advice would be greatly appreciated. Hope that all makes sense.

Backlinks to an anchor name URL: How Google sees them
I have been searching for the answer to this question and to my surprise have yet to find anything on the web. This is my situation: I have a form at the bottom of one of my pages and have another website that wants to link to this page, more specifically this form. I have an anchor link on the page to this form already. I was planning on sending the anchor name URL to the Webmaster to link to my page so their users will go straight to my form. My question is: do I lose link juice to my URL from this link because it is an anchor name URL? Does Google see this link that goes to a specific portion of my page to be less valuable than if I just linked to the plain URL? Cheers Sean

Google Webmaster Tools Link Count
What are your thoughts on the link information provided by GWMT? It often takes quite a bit of time for the links to show up, and some quality links are never shown. Is it cause for concern if your link count is lower in GWMT than, say OSE? Any implications worth noting?

Why does opensiteexplorer tell me I have 292 linking domains and google webmasteer tools says 528?
Does anyone have any idea why opensiteexplorer has a specific number of linking domains while google webmaster tools say another? I understand opensiteexplorer needs to update itself, but I have seen this discrepancy for months! Any ideas?
