404 errors, but not showing in Google analytics
-
In my SEOmoz errors there are over a dozen 404 errors listed. However, they are not showing up in Google analytics. How can I find the referring url for the ones showing up here?
-
Yes, I figured it out now. (duh). thanks!
It is curious that Google web tools didn't pick those up.
-
HI Keri,
I see now... Thank you for helping!
-
HI Keri,
I just tried that and a lot greater list comes up than the 20 or so 404 errors. And I really am unable to determine what the referring url is from the csv list.
Kindly,
Sarah
-
Hi! If you download the CSV of your errors, it will tell you the referring URL.
-
Just use a crawler like Screaming Frog, crawl your website and see if you see any errors / 404s that you are linking to. And you can identify what all pages link to it.
I hope this helps.

I went into Crawl Diagnostics and chose Issues 4xx and got a few pages. Does that not work?

Increase in authorization permission errors (Access Denied - Error 403)
Hi MOZ community, Since last week when I changed my theme in a WP installation I noticed (in WMT and MOZ tool) that I have increased number in authorization permission errors (error 403-forbidden). What happens is that I received a 403 error for almost every single URL of my site. All these URLs are not "real" ones but they all have my email in the end. i.e. I get an 403 error for the "/contact/[email protected]" whilst the real URL is just "/contact/" This happens, as I said, for almost every single page of my site. I have no other crawling or indexation issues, all URLs are correctly indexed. All new pages are correctly indexed as well. URIs ending with "[email protected]" are not indexed off course. WP and all installed plugins & theme are on the latest available release. For SEO purposes I use Yoast SEO WP plugin. The site in questions is: fantasylogic.com Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Best Way to Seemlessly Use Moz and Google Analytics
Hi All, I have Moz Pro and I am beginning to explore Moz Analytics. I currently use Google Analytics for pretty much everything and I am almost at expert level at using the GA interface so I'm ready to learn a new tool and have a second source of data! My question is: what's the best way to get the most of Moz Analytics and GA congruently? Off hand I know that Moz's keyword, rank, and link data, including competitive insights, is more comprehensive than GA. But how else can I use Moz and get the most out of the Moz Analytics? Looking to really dive in and discuss how we can make use of both! Thanks - Vee

Need help locating a 404 link
My reports are showing a 404 error for a link to a page in our WP site for which we changed the URL months ago. I can't find where the link is coming from. I used Screaming Frog, but can't find where it might tell me the origin of the link, only that it exists. I am pretty sure it's internal. Can someone please tell me how to find the originating page so I can remove the link without having to comb through every page of the site to look for it? Thanks!

Why is open site explorer not showing the top links that if found previously.
In previous months ago open site explorer listed many other sites linking to mine. I have checked those sites and they are still linking to my site. Why doesn't open site explorer list them?
