Selecting keywords
-
Hi there, my question is: If I select and optimize in the page a keyword like "english courses in Boston" if someone type in Google only english courses, would my site be shown up in first places in the SERPs (if I had done a good onpage and offpage optimization)? or someone who has optimize the page with the keyword "english courses" would be in a preference place?
Thanks

ok Thanks Branagan.

I guess it would depend on the competitiveness of that query, and how relevant your page is for it. It is possible to appear in the SERPs for.an alternate, broader or complementary query, but again, you could be very deep on those SERPs or not at all depending on the competition.
You could always have two pages on your site optimized for the two different set of keywords.

But if someone types in "english courses" would I be in the SERPs althought I have optimized the page for "english courses in Boston" or definitively not?
-
Thanks

All other factors being equal, and unless you are in Boston, the page optimized for "english courses" should have preference for the the query "english courses".

Should I be using the town or city in url with my keyword or keyphrase?
should I be using the town or city in url with my keyword or keyphrase? So lets say I'm trying to rank for butchers in home town should i put the town in the url as well so www.website.com/butchers-in-mytown is that bad? Or would it be best to just put www.website.com/butchers?

Sudden drop in ranking for important keyword? No penalty / other issues detected
Hi For our site we previously ranked well for the term "botswana safari holidays" on the page: http://www.naturalworldsafaris.com/destinations/africa-and-the-indian-ocean/botswana.aspx We've suddenly seen a dramatic drop for this term, currently ranked #43 on Google UK. There are no penalty notices in Webmaster tools and the only edits to the page recently have been to include the term "Botswana safari holidays" in the page title and the on-page h2 (previously Botswana safaris and holidays). Any suggestions why we have seen a large decrease for this term? We expect to see some fluctuation but this one seems a bit dramatic. We've not lost any backlinks to the page that we know of. Thanks for the help.

How to separate your - keywords - and | Brand name in the Title Tag
I have traditionally used hyphens (-) and vertical bars (|) to separate out keywords/brands in title tags. A client has asked if other characters will work such as tilde (~), apersat (@), forward slash (/) etc. Are there any special characters we should steer clear of?

The need of two-keyword optimization in the same page
Hi there! Due to the business model of my company I have to optimize two keywords in one page. I just asked about this question before and someone told me thant as long as they refer to the same concept and have almost the same "meaning", it is possible. The problem is how to face it up. I mean, there's one H1 label, one title, etc....and what's the "policy" of key distribution in the content in order to priorice these keywords? What you guys recommend? many thanks
