Is Manta.com worth paying?
-
Hello,
I have currently have a Free listing but Im considering paying the monthly fee.
Does it really generate leads?
Does it help for link building and SEO?
If it does, is it wise to link back to the profile page or the home page? Thanks

I know this topic is old and forgotten, but I just came across this after researching Manta.com
I must say that I kinda liked using Manta, but from the SEO perspective it didn't seem to deliver much, the problem with Manta was not using it, but cancelling it.
- You can't cancel it from the website, you need to request it
- After I requested it, I haven't gotten a response for some time
- After I followed up, the guy straight up lied to me that he responded already, even though there was nothing else in that thread
- After paying for few months, I got bunch of listings online on different profile sites, what my "Manta manager" told me is that if I cancel the subscription, and I quote: "we will no longer have control over the 60+ listings and they may end up reverting back"
So in short, if you are willing to keep paying them (forever) it's a neat little tool, but if you feel like you may want to EVER cancel it, think twice, as you might end up getting an email that sounds like a blackmail.

We have been paying for manta pro since last July and I will give this feed back.
- Your "List Views" will definitely go up with a paid vs non-paid listing our went up about 4 fold.
- This seem to help you get for your sales and service items when a customer is doing local search for example we organically ranked for "my service my town" but not "my service neighboring town" adding pro listing made it so we were first page for the area local search. Please not this is a niche industrial market we are in.
- According to Google analytics I receive maybe one site visit for every 40 listing views. I cannot say how many call as we cannot afford call tracking currently.
- We run PPC campaigns, so form me I am currently asking how many clicks can I buy for this $40 a month?
-
I have no idea whether this is going to drive any business to your website or not. But from SEO's perspective, this is definitely going to help but that does not necessarily mean that have to pay for it. Remember paid links go against Google's guidelines.

You want to buy services from a company that is running Google adsense on its front page? Just another spam site
-
Hello Oliver,
I tried this with one of my company and results are not something i was expecting....it may also depends upon nice to niche...so i think if you have a bust to try you should but if you are tight then you should not consider this idea!
MY thoughts!

Oliver, I looked at the featured listings on Manta.com
Think of it from a traffic generation perspective and the ROI behind that rather then the SEO Value. The link is a nofollow link, so it's not technically / directly passing any link juice, but I still like the link if it fits your budget and brings you ROI in terms of traffic. Don't look for ROI in terms of a "Paid Link".
I would also make sure you are listed, verified in other similar sites/yellow pages etc.

Is it worth setting up a Google Plus page for your blog?
Hi All, OK we all know the merit in G+, Authorship etc. I'm a regular user on G+ and I work hard to keep my profile up to date and with fresh content. I have no doubt my increased number of followers has helped my blog rank (which my G+ account is linked to). My question is - is there any merit at all in setting up a separate page for my blog so I can get +1s for it (probably very few). Much like any company page that gets +1s and people to follow that company. Or is this just plain silly and I should concentrate on building my personal profile? Thanks

Diigo.com
I was using Open Site Explorer to look at a competitors back links and they had a lot from Diigo.com...a site I must must confess to have never heard of before. Diigo seem to have a strong Domain Authority but I don't understand how (or if it is wise) to utilise it to boost the organic performance of my website. My competitor seems to be taking advantage of it to good effect, but I cant work out how! In my mind it is a bookmarking & commenting tool that is geared up towards nofollow link sharing...I must be wrong?! http://www.diigo.com What do you guys reckon? Has any one here got any experience in optimisation via Diigo.com?

Synnd.com and Related Sites
What is everyone thoughts on Synnd.com and other sites that try to manipulate the "social signals" aspect of SEO. Am I right for thinking that it is waste of time because it is not related to your niche and all the accounts in the network are just spam accounts with lots of spammy looking links that add no value. I just feel time spent getting a retweet about your site from related authority sites would do far more than a ton of crap ones.

How much attention do you pay to hashtags in your tweets?
I haven't really paid much attention to adding hashtags to my tweets, but I'm thinking I should. For my real estate site I just started following the mayor of our city. I noticed that he finishes each of his tweets with #ourcityname. I clicked on the hashtag because I wanted to find more people who tweet about our city. Then, I suddenly realized that if I used that hashtag when I tweet then other people would find me and follow me. Any thoughts?
